You stayed at one of the best top 10 hotels in Yangon, Myanmar. The danger is mostly for journalists, and if you travel outside of the cities - there is conflict in outlying zones which are currently contested (has existing armed conflict) and if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. They are indeed among the nicest places to stay here. Don't you have plans to go there again?
@@wardaname7088 I don’t think I will return even though I had a great time.
"Huhu...I am so excited! I am in Myanmar now. It's a bit controversial because a civil war is happening with thousands of people being killed and about 1.3 million refugees. But look, here is my bathroom! It is soooo huge!!! Myanmar has a brutal dictator who bombs his own people. But I am sure I will have a lot of fun here!" This is insane.
This person is a complete airhead. The lady in the video, not you. You are spot on.
Our country myanmar used to call golden burma in 60s,70s era but due to constant military coup , they destroy the whole system of the country, people are very frustrated , we want to revive to democratic country if possible in near future

@8:03 the Karen tribes had been fleeing to thailand ever since the war started in 1962 so as a refugee they have a large amount of people live in the US already at the least of 5k populations or more. thanks

Is it safe? As a local, I'd say it's pretty much safe if you stay sharp considering the country is where is it now. Do I recommend to visit ? .. nope ! There are plenty of places you can visit without having to deal with what you'd probably have to here.
So beautiful Emily ❤️
Around 18:41/36:51, he is recommending if you have a local guide, you will definitely be helpful and learn more about history of famous interesting things here in Myanmar. I feel sad to see the ignorance that your friend said "we don't want and left". (Emily behaved well said thank you". Actually, he is not adverting, he is recommending you guys to be helpful, please respect other culture and deal with it next time. @Escape with Emily
Trust me. They will just end up annoying you all the way you go. The guy’s response was a right one.
10:40 Pointing feet, esp towards idols is really disrespectful in most Asian cultures including Burmese. You all really should be mindful of others cultures as travellers
