The fact that i listened to this song back in 13 & listening to it now it's like whoa!! Where tf did time go?? I was in highschool!! I Remember when i was like figuring life out & feeling misunderstood & crazy & unworthy etc. Then i heard about her thru one of my classmates. Bc she lowkey looked like her and had natural hair long just like hers & i started dabbing into her music & it saved me from feeling alone & misunderstood & so forth. Etc. . Every since then i've been so hooked. She's beyond this world of wonders. I can go on but i aint
So i lowkey had been up on all the snippets leading up to Ctrl and i was surprised and shook at how she elevated her voice and her approach. Like the different beat textures and sounds that ultimately matched her whole vibe. Helping her express in a different way which was very awsome to see. When ctrl was introduced officially i was a bit shocked at how they changed a lot of things with certain songs and ultimately how she soumded completely different. It almost sounded like it wasnt raw anymore. And i was a bit disappointed. But i do remember her saying previously days before dropping CTRL that we would either like it or hate it. Either way she came thru. And after listening and listening and listening i grew to appreciate and love it sooo much more. Especially with tracks i never heard before. When i first heard Prom i was overwhelmed and wish it just never ended (In my opinion Prom carried the group lol) i love every last song tho. So seeing her evolve several different times made me believe i could do the same. She gave me hope in a very dark place in my life. And til this day im still grateful for her ethereal presence on this here earf. ✊🏾
At the time of her gaining exposure before ctrl i was doing intense travels. I remember i was in Houston and she was performing in this warehouse 15 mins away from me and i wash shooketh. Or when i was in Hollywood and she literally was like 6 minutes away from me. Once ahain shooketh lol. I remember when she performed live for the first time on TV Drew Barrymore. I was so proud and in tears damn near. Felt like i was watching an old friend have her shine. And then boom !
@@goldengod9949 omg!! Thats so amazing to hear!! I love the fact that you listened to her old stuff back in 13 and listening to her now. Her growth. Its amazing.
@@maryah6844 Yea Im an OG lol Watching her grow as a person is literally the best thing ever. Like i said. Its like watching an old friend grow through life and were all able to now see it.
