One thing that you might have missed is that it isn't just the typical tapping of the chest. He is using four separate types of taps to produce four separate results. If you play close attention, sometimes he taps with his palm/wrist, sometimes his finger tips like a drum, sometimes whole hand, and on occasion his only taps himself with just the thumb. He also taps in slightly different areas, which also affects the sounds.
If you want to hear his singing without percussion, check out his duet Ave Maria with Yo-Yo Ma. He accompanies. It's awesome. I swear he's a godfather if not grandfather of beatboxing. He's been perfecting the craft since the 90s. Thank you for demonstrating how fragile some of his techniques are 😅 i do mean this as a compliment i love your exploring this onscreen
He basically did the loopstation thing, well, not exactly, but you know "Dont worry be happy". That is all him. Just a bunch of layers of him. All of it. Including the whistling. The song has no instruments other than Bobby. I have seen a life performance where he builds the entire song, not with a loopstation, but with a tape recorder.
This is beat box for adults. I saw him live in San Francisco 30 years ago Changed my life for ever.
For some serious beatboxing, check out Bobby McFerrin - Drive (Live from Montreal)

You may want to check out "Drivc"-Bobby McFerrin or "Say Ladeo" as well.

Not an illness but a style.
His work with Bach is incredible
They were filming his feet because part of the total sound from the beginning was his feet. Go back to the top and watch.
