Takes me back!!! I remember being handed this cd after a rave. Listen to it all the time until it was so scratched I could play it anymore. Back when raves were fun, no phones, fighting, and we all lived by PLUR!
DJ Morgan is actually one of my best friends growing up since 2nd grade when he tried to steal my legos and my mom threw him out of the house... I actually designed the artwork for this release - however the Decepticon icon you have is not the original artwork.... Its the second after lost the artwork.... I drew the decepticon logo as a circuit board in Autocad when Morgan and I worked at Intel. Morgan was the head of the DRG (developer relations group) game testing lab... we tested and benchmarked games being developed against they new arch sets like SIMD and Celeron etc for performance for Intel to be able to spend funds marketing games over AMD (and transmetta which evaporated)... (we were the first to test AGP cards, the unreal engine, gaming on 40" plasma monitors that cost $16,000 (1998) Now Morgan is one of the top gaming execs in the industry... Anyway, while we were at intel we had this massive lab at SC5 and like literally were the only two employees who had badge into that lab (aside from Grove, and what was weird was me and Andy Grove had the seemingly same bathroom schedule - I never spoke to the man... I have only frequently pissed in the urinal next to me) Anyway - we had this bitchin' lab and we had a direct T1 or T3 connect off the OC-192 to the building which was down the street in networking terms from MAE-WEST (the largest internet exchange for all carriers on the west coast at the time (san jose) and we were ROASTING bitches who all were on 56K modem... our pings were death to others... I armchair produced with morgan on a lot of the LOTEK records...
Honored to have you comment! I was unfortunately unable to track down the original artwork in a resolution that didn't end up looking terrible. I did my best to pick a substitute that was true to the feel of your original cover art. Thanks so much for commenting!
used to speak to this fella all the time online from the WinMX music days and other forums. Organised for him to play at my local underground nightclub in the UK but whilst he was visiting Sweden or Norway (I think it was) 911 happened and travel plans got messed up. love this playlist and set.
You can download it for free from DJ Morgan's website, which is linked in the description - and the MP3 from his site is the audio source used for this upload... ...so yes, I'd say that qualifies as "promotional." 🙂
