They could have opted to use the FN Model 1949 instead of the FAL as FN was working on that design in 1940 but it was interrupted by the German invasion. The design was finished after the war and adopted by a fair few countries including Belgium. Much of the design work that went into the Model 1949 was then reused for the FN FAL.

The first part is old fashioned 'develop the colonies' type stuff, then after the split there will be a shared section from the nordic union style of thing for developing congo resources, shared between belgium and a new belgian congo puppet, with the other part being more annex and set up government stuff similar to 'continue the war in batavia'.

3:27 paradox revealed that they have a battle plan bonus that gives bonuses to countries including Belgium so that is taken care of, but no guarantee it will be balanced.
Its not just the decision that they can take which gives them small bonus', the new raid mechanic has an exculsive german raid against Eben Emael to stand in for the IRL paratrooper operation that helped defeat it.
It was industrialised but compared to its closest neighbor the netherlands, its economy wasn't as well developped, even if the -war crimes- resources extraction in the congo helped

In my time playing UK I only need 24 div to hold Belgium, the French doing pretty good job filling in. I don't know what effect will dyle plans do to that. As the French however the British AI rarely put army in Belgium so hopefully that'll help.

Having a split between Communist, Socialist and Anarchist types as an example - and different ideologies being able to work together more effectively (example, Socialists might play nice with Communists or Democrats).
