- Officers report:
On December 28, 2023, at approximately 11:00 P.M., I, Officer Juarez, was on duty in my full class A uniform, clearly displaying my badge of office, within the County of Lea, State of New Mexico. At this time, I was conducting a DWI checkpoint on Highway 62/180 near milepost 92 with four other New Mexico State Police officers and a supervisor. The checkpoint was set up with large bright orange traffic cones and signs indicating a sobriety checkpoint up ahead, reduce speed ahead, and stop. At the checkpoint, a gray in color Nissan pickup was approaching at a high rate of speed that appeared to be unreasonable for vehicles approaching the stop sign at the checkpoint. Sergeant Verdugo and I raised one hand towards the vehicle with our palms facing the vehicle, telling, and indicating to the driver to stop and slow down. The vehicle's driver appeared to smile and wave as he accelerated through the checkpoint, passing by three posted stop signs. Officer Santos also raised his hand and had to take a step away from the roadway to avoid being struck by the vehicle. The vehicle continued accelerating eastbound, showed no signs of slowing down, and never attempted to stop. I entered my fully marked New Mexico State Police Patrol Unit and pursued the vehicle with my emergency equipment activated. I had reasonable suspicion that the driver could be impaired. I caught up to the vehicle and matched the vehicle's speed with my own. Speeds were measured to be as high as 108 mph. During the pursuit, I activated the spotlight and shined it through the back window to attempt to signal for him to pull over. Still, the driver continued eastbound, ignoring indications for him to pull over from emergency equipment activated on two New Mexico State Police Units. Ahead of the pursuit at milepost 100, Sergeant Ramirez was able to deploy stop sticks, puncturing both driver’s side tires on the suspect vehicle. As the pursuit approached the city, I performed a PIT maneuver and stopped the vehicle at milepost 101. After the PIT, I witnessed the vehicle spin 360 degrees and began traveling eastbound again. Once the suspect vehicle was stopped, the driver immediately exited his vehicle and fled on foot eastbound on Highway 62/180. After a short foot chase, Officer Santos performed an impact takedown on the driver as he was fleeing. Officer Santos and Officer Mendez apprehended the driver. The driver was positively identified by his New Mexico ID card as Michael Isaac Pineda. Mr. Pineda was read his Miranda rights and questioned about the incident. Mr. Pineda stated he was distraught, angry, and tired. He said he was having family issues. When asked, he stated he noticed the cones and marked New Mexico State Police Units Parked on the side of the Roadway. He told me he heard Sergeant Verdugo and I hit his vehicle but did not stop because he did not have a valid driver’s license. The odor of an intoxicating beverage could be smelled from Mr. Pineda’s person. Mr. Pineda was asked if he had any alcoholic beverages. He stated his passenger did, but he did not. An ambulance was called for the driver and passenger to be checked out at the scene. Mr. Pineda was then taken to the New Mexico State Police Station. At the station, I informed Mr. Pineda that we would be performing standardized field sobriety tests. Before beginning any tests, Mr. Pineda stated he had smoked marijuana before driving. I asked Mr. Pineda if he had any head injuries or wore glasses. Mr. Pineda stated he needed glasses and had a cataract as he pointed to his right eye. Without being asked, he also said he had issues with his knees and back but could run and make side-to-side movements if asked. There was no obvious indication that Mr. Pineda could not safely perform field sobriety tests. Observing Mr. Pineda during the pursuit run from law enforcement and walking when he was apprehended, it appeared he had no medical issues preventing him from performing the tests. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were performed and based on Mr. Pineda’s performance on the standardized field sobriety tests, I did exhibit signs of him being impaired. Mr. Pineda was read the New Mexico implied consent act for breath, to which consent was not granted. A drug recognition expert with the Lea County Sheriff's Office arrived at the New Mexico State police station and asked Mr. Pineda if he would be willing to do additional tests. Mr. Pineda also refused these additional tests. Mr. Pineda was booked into the Lea County detention center and charged with failure to obey traffic control devices/failure to obey signs, aggravated fleeing, operation of the vehicle on approach of emergency vehicles, driving while license suspended, speeding, battery on a peace officer, aggravated assault on a peace officer, aggravated DWI, and resting, evading, or obstructing an officer X2 (arrest) (refusal to stop).
Thank God for virtuous cops.
hi yes you are right thank God for the existence of the police but be careful ⚠️? there is also a racist police even policemen who do bad things in the real world right? I have always loved the real police heroes in the world who help people precisely because it's a civic duty anyway God help these crazy people in the world 🌍 there's all sorts of good but more bad because you know now people have never changed from this to this thanks Mann 🙏🏻
"Body Slammed Through Fence" 🤣🤣😂😂😂 no kidding!
What are these fences made out of? Paper Machete?
Plastic
@@streetpunkstar "Mache". A machete is a weapon.
video title - video content is parity for once
@@streetpunkstar no that would've hurt him
He smiled & waved as he went by, then tried to say he was forced to drive? 🤔😂
😂😂😂😂
@@user-tr1dr8qk2d SUCH A GOOD COMMENT MAN. WE GAINED SO MUCH FROM YOUR 😂😂😂. Fucking bot
Then said he wasn’t even driving🤪
When he got pinned down...told he will be arrested..
The continuous
" FOR WHAT?" ...is mind boggling😂😂
Perp's a total moron. 🙄
"For what?"... Fleeing, DUI, and being a Moron!.
What what.
You're under arrest. For what? Are these idiots for real? Should never be allowed to own or drive a vehicle again because of the total lack of awareness.
You see it again and again, at this point getting a DWI is total joke no real life repercussion.
I have a coworker that has 9 still drives no insurance, vehicle never registered, gets pulled over, pays his ticket and away he goes again and again.
And the studly NM state trooper tackled the guy and kept his hat on!!
studly?? are you drooling over the trooper
@@Zeevuhl Is this person not allowed to? Or are you scared because if the OP is a guy, and said studly about another guy, that somehow that means you are involved for any reason.
You are the kid that always had to try to one up everyone, weren't you?
damn this video was effin badass💀 pit was badass, the chase was badass, and the tackle was badass😂🤙🏽 good job officers
That officer needs to work on cardio!!!
You might say they are…. Badasses!!! 😊
Our NMSP and Cibola County Sheriffs are pretty badass... :)
You can do this every week and never spend time in Jail! Thats the New Mexico Law! Catch and Release! No Problem!🤣
NM lot of lawlessness. Sad situation 😢. Officers did a great job here. Thank you, Officers
The closer you get to Mexico the more lawless it gets. Coincidence?
"They forced me to drive that way." "I wasn't driving."
" I wasn't even driving." I wonder if Spock beamed up just before you were pitted. You should represent yourself in court. You're probably bright enough.
He was traveling.....a Sovcit!!
Yet he had already said just seconds before that they made him drive like that! We have ourselves a genius right here! 😂
@@queenzebra8219 Triple digit IQ for sure.
@@jimc6687 Right, traveling, not driving.
Ahahaha. Dude, seriously. Just stop.😅 I just cant. Thats too hilarious.
I wonder if his parents had any children that lived 🤔 With signs of brain activity that is 😉
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Son mexicanos... 🤣
Just plain stupid. 🙄
"Oh hey fellas, good luck with your traffic stops! None for me tonight, thanks."
😂😂
Laying on the ground face down after being pitted, running from cops and thrown through a wooden fence and the first thing he asks is, Do you got my phone?”
"They forced me to drive like that" 🙄
He was referring to the voices in his head.
I love how these guys always say "for what?" As if, as long as they think the reason for the stop is not justified, there is no problem with them running away.
These guys say ,"for what?" like they weren't just there, obviously doing the thing. 😂😂
Until we fix the Court System it's just going to get worse.
Man, that is a weak ass fence.
New Mexico has sooo many drunks on the roads
Running from your problems seldom works over time they catch up with you.
What a way to greet police after being chased and tackled: "Mother F'er" and repeatedly saying "for what, for what, for what". I have to question some peoples intelligence at times.
Imagine waking up in a jail cell and having no memory of what happened to put you there !
Yup been there horrible feeling
Lots of charges probably walked away with $1000 bond. Most costly part will be getting his truck back and paying tow fees
That’s facts! At my tow company, it’ll cost almost $500 even if you get your truck the next day! 😂
Guy really racked up the charges. He'll probably get extra probation for that 🤪
He may get a very stern look from the judge too ! O.k. that's probably going a bit too far because that could hurt his feelings !
Nice tackle. That's how you play de-fence. 😐
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂 good one
Add being stupid to the list of charges
great video! Haven't seen anything from ya'll for a while, guess it's been quiet in NM. 😁
Excellent work, as always, NM!
Thanks for a great video.
Put it in a prison for 60+ years
45 years if good behavior 😂
That cop chasing him have asthma?
I think he have asthma from his birthing
Probably got a $350 fine and a day in jail with time served.
When they know to pretend to be a passenger and not the driver, yeah, they've done it before and before. A drunk slammed into my property but told cops he was not the driver and got away with it! Why not fingerprint the steering wheel? Damn that cost me 16K.
The way they chased that man down they said WERE MAKING OUR QUOATA FOR DWIS TONIGHT! 😂💀
Play stupid games win stupid prizes
That officer was completely out of breath. The perp. talking without effort. Officer, you need to work on your cardio!!!!!!
If you aren't out of breath after sprinting 50+ yards then you weren't sprinting
A surfer one time also said “get pitted”
If there's a Stop Sign,,then also set up a sign about tire damage and use stop stix.
RIP to the fence 😂
"I wasn't even driving"!
Does he have his ballarena license?
Good to have you back.
I actually thought about moving to Portales because it’s so beautiful but it’s getting wild all over New Mexico.
My husband's first comment was, "Turned down for what?" 😂😂
Great channel!👏
"they forced me to drive like that"
you wont be driving for a while
convicted DWI should be an instant 1 year sentence
Meanwhile his buddy got thru lol
Were spike strips not an option at the DUI stop point?
Pity...that was a nice Nissan Titan.
Officer hit him like Ronnie Lott....😅😅😅😅
Only in NM, charged 3rd time DUI, License suspended for not paying child support. For What?
people ought to have to read the burn they are getting in the comments in court! the video shows how dumb people are but the comments on the you tube videos show what people think of them- God Bless the NM Troopers !!!!!!!!!
Damn that fence just tumbled
That was a legit tackle! Well done. Where was the guy that he said was driving 😀
Ive never seen that many street lights in my life.
He’s in trouble now 😂
The parrot says " For What"
A very expensive F-up buddy.
For what ? He must have been home schooled .
"For what? For what? For what? For what? For what? For what? For what? For what? For what?"
As if he doesn't know.
WOOO what a tackle bro 😂
The NFL should open a fifth round of the NFL Draft for state trooper departments to draft college football players if they want to still run and tackle after college but didn't get picked in the official four rounds. /s
Talk about messing your life up in a heartbeat!
How much does it cost to get footage from nmsp or apd/bcso etc
Wheres Hwy 62 ? 100plus mph the officer is following to close.
No Ballerena License?
That fence was made of choco pops?
That guy must never went to school.
Bro I saw him get body slammed I said that must off hurt
My sisters birthday lol
Spear by Roman Reigns!
This cop needs to take up jogging as the older runner wasn’t out of breath.🤗
Great statement from a clueless keyboard athlete/first responder. Ever heard of adrenaline? That’s exactly what happens to the human body. Nice to see you gave no intelligence. Related to the moronic suspect I wouldn’t be surprised. So fed up with cretins making statements with zero knowledge. STOP IT.
there is a difference between a jog and a sprint. There is a reason the bad guy got caught.. (he wasn't running as fast)
for what
Another bad decision in a long list of them, I suppose.
HAHAHHAHAHHAHH
😮😮😱🌎
Ummmm. For what?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
He was later released ror and all charges were dismissed. Welcome to NM where breaking the law and putting the community at risk has no repricutions.
Dudes just chasing him with no emergency lights on 😂
Wonder if he’s here LEGALLY 🤔 I think the cops should make that public knowledge when they or (anyone) break the law!
Only one cop was fit enough to run 20ft to his cruiser to begin the chase, the rest sauntered or wobbled. Disappointing.
They should be chasing illegals!
look at the bigger picture, think before you speak.
who tf gon stay at the checkpoint?
They can't leave the checkpoint unattended per state statue
What happens when betas can't adult....DUH 😂😂
Bet he was out the next day
His sombrero is at home
New Mexico police seem to be very simple people...
Yeah, just regular guys with no egos. These guys don't escalate like most officers.
@@luisdelossantos5338 Most officers DO NOT escalate. Yes, there are jerks in the profession, like any other profession, and those are weeded out. But your escalate statement is factually false. Stop generalizing.
This is what happens when you grow up without a father.
Not a fan of dui checkpoints (thought we had laws about that before they made up a law to justify it) but HATE a runner! Puts everyone at risk, no good...
Why would there be laws against/justifying it?
An honest question from a country where checkpoints are happening all the time, and I've never before this video realized that I haven't seen anyone in the US..
I live in Fresno California and they do checkpoints in the city randomly. They do them out of nowhere too, like they'll do them on big drinking holidays but just sporadically as well. Don't drink and drink! 🩷🪬
@@Samanthamoemoes So it differs from state to state?
@@snarkmark To be honest I'm not sure it's the only place I've lived where we have them. I've lived in Portland Oregon, Phoenix Arizona and Montana and I never dealt with them in those places. But I can't be sure. I think they're helpful though you still have people who are oblivious to the world around them. Do you mind me asking where you are from?
@@Samanthamoemoes I'm from Sweden. Police do regular checkpoints, but also by default test every driver involved in an accident, with a PBT (even LEOs that might have been involved). And since Swedes as a people are so trusting of the government I've never even heard anyone think that it's weird or invasive.. We just comply 🤣🤣
It's not Michael, it's Miguel. Nice try.
The Land Of Entrapment
You mean the Land of Entrapment lol. With MLG as governor, NM is doomed!! #FMLG
????????😂
How was this entrapment in any way?

@@n5iln bc NM is stuck with Lil Hitler for three more years!! Entrapped!! 🤢
All those charges. NM court will give him unsupervised probation. Vote Republican if you want to live.
I was waiting for someone to point out the obvious. Thank you.
Checkpoints are illegal where I live. But it doesn't matter because drunk people are full of dumb.
Props to the 40-year-old drunk guy actually trying to run...
Pineda later admitted that the entire incident could have been avoided had Santa just dropped off items from his list just a few days before. Pineda showed police his list of items he claimed he was being "screwed over" again this year. When police attempted to explain that Santa wasn't real, Pineda replied, "Sure, what will you tell me next? There ain't no Peter Cotton Tail hopping down that damn bunny tail?"
Clearly staged. You need proof? Look at 1:36. Guy uses his blinker. In NM. guy used his blinker. IN New MEXICO. Hobbs no less....
😂😂😂😂
Officer needs to work on cardio….
Just stop you act like you can run for a 1 min 😂😂 lmfaoo ur big self would still be tryna catch up
Bidens border buddy.
Nothing to do in New Mexico but drink and fight. Tubby couldn’t run. He looked like he was running with a keg of beer around his waistline
I have another case for you to show. OIS in Santa Fe. SFPD Case #2024-004578.
State police officer needs to do cardio
Breathing like a fat kid
Bro ran 100 yards and is breathing like he just did a mile lmao
If that guy was faster that cop would of not gone to much
99.9% of people on earth would be out of breath after sprinting 100 yards....
