This is my bass cover for @AmonAmarthOfficial's song One Thousand Burning Arrows. This is one of my favorite songs of that album and one of the greatest @AmonAmarthOfficial songs in general. In this video I use my @solar-guitars AB2.4C Baritone bass once again. For the audio recording I used the Darkglass plugin by @NeuralDSP going into Amplitube 5 to a Gallien Krueger MB150 bass head and SVX 810E cab.
Hope you'll enjoy this cover,

Thank you so much man!
What is the tuning of this song? And are you down tuning your bass?
The tuning of the song is B Standard, the bass is also tuned at B. It's just missing the G string as it's a 4 string.
Nice cover dude ! One question what goes into the microphone plug in on your umc 22 ? I am using the same interface and try to figure out the best tone. Best wishes
Thank you! The way I always go about recording is plugging the bass straight into the Behringer Interface and using Reaper I open the Darkglass V7K plugin. I choose the Alex Webster preset, turn the distortion all the way down and depending on the song make a few more adjustments.
Then I open the Amplitube 5 plugin and always go with the Gallien Krueger MB150 bass head along with the accompanying speaker. There I keep everything flat and in some rare occasions I may cut or boost the lows and the highs/treble.
I also use the loudmax plugin for some adjustments, the ReaEQ plugin to boost or cut some frequencies in order to avoid clipping in the audio and the GTune plugin to tune the bass because I've found it to be really accurate on lower tunings.
I hope this was somewhat helpful, if there's anything else you'd like to ask feel free to do so. If you're just starting out I understand how frustrating it is sometimes to find information on what you want to do.
Cheers!
Nice Solar bass! Sounds epic :) Good playing also \m/
thank you so much man! It's indeed a great bass, the neck is very reminiscent of the Ibanez SoundGear necks (if I recall correctly you have/had one)! After all these years, I'm still trying to get that Raise Your Horns - First Kill sound you had dialed! Cheers man!!! 🤘🤘
hey brother. I'm assuming this bass comes tuned/set up for B standard correct?
Exactly! It's the baritone model, so it's 35' scale in 4 strings and also the 5 string. It comes with Blacksmith strings 45-130. Hope this helps, cheers!
I like what you did here. Rather than buying a 5 string why not just down tune a 4 string?! Very clear clean tone but still maintains the heaviness. Just a short anecdote I recall seeing them at least 3 times during the very early 2000s before they became so well known. They were always very tight and intense. If I recall correctly I saw them with Deicide, Nile, Kreator, Arch Enemy and Cannibal Corpse. They were constantly touring and it paid dividends.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! I find the 4 strings to be more comfortable, especially since the high string in a 5er isn't being used all that often in metal. What helps to get a good, clean yet heavy tone in lower tunings is the scale and that's why I bought this bass as a 35 inch which is kinda rare for 4 string basses. It's one of those basses that I really regret selling! I think I saw a show of Amon Amarth from 2003 when they toured with Deicide, it must had been a hell of a show. Amon Amarth back then played more raw and that's what drew me to them. Even if in the Wrath Of The Norsemen DVD it was so obvious that they were completely drunk, I found the performances to be far more entertaining and captivating than today's shows. I'm glad for all their success though, if there's a band that deserved it, for me it was them.
@@hephaestusofficial I think you nailed it on all counts. Yes, I recall venturing out to West Hollywood on the sunset strip for the Deicide, Amon Amarth gig. I believe Children of Bodom was on the lineup as well. You're dead on in stating AMON AMARTH were a lot more raw back in the day. I have been very fortunate in living in LA and Kern County areas for the bulk of my life. I saved up whatever money I could to see tons of shows since 1996 onwards. Anyway, I've heard all the "journalist" (i.e. wannabe musicians who can't hack it) talk down on the more recent records Amon Amarth has put out. Hey, they earned their success through decades of touring their collective bones off. I've seen their more recent shows and I honestly don't believe they need any of these elaborate stage props. Back in the day 2002-2004 when I saw them. It was all just set up the amps, put the band name/logo banner up and play. Yes I know how it feels to depart with instruments that are misses tt. I have no doubt you'll find a bass that suits the same needs and then some as the one you sold.
What bass is that? It sounds amazing
Thank you! This is a Solar AB2.4 Baritone bass. It's basically a 4 string but with a 35 inch neck! Very easy to play bass!
hello man, I would like to contact you… do you think it is possible?
Hello Juan, sorry for the quite late reply. Of course you can, my email is stathis.tsalidis@gmail.com.
