This is the most satisfying fictional couple I've ever seen. Usually, with TV shows, the writers create unnecessary drama to keep the relationship "interesting", often times making a couple break up and make up for no good reason, turning the relationship into something tiresome and toxic. Although this off and on kind of relationship was an idea the writers had for Jake and Amy, I'm so glad they decided to make their relationship healthy and as realistic as possible for a sitcom. They're best friends, they're partners, they're lovers, they support each other and believe in each other, and that's the kind of representation love/relationships should get on screen. I'm so happy to have decided to start watching B99, not only because of the amazing show and cast, but because it showed me that fictional love can be more than that dramatic toxic romance some like to call EPIC, it can be easy, pure, good and solid. So thanks for that. Rant over.
YES!! i'm happy that the writers decided to make their relationship as natural as possible. And i also love the fact that they're the kind of couple that's already really sweet to each other without making big crazy gestures (like how i met your mother or other shows). For example, when Jake said that he READ the harry potter books because Amy likes it, that's a small gesture but that's soooooo sweet!!! the little things are the ones that matters the most. I love this couple

Or the part where Jake remarked that Property Brothers finished at 10, then hastily started saying “I mean sex.” He and Amy are already at the point where they just watch TV together and go to bed, but he’s trying to hide it.
Also neither of them are too reliant on eachother and have independent lives! In some shows they shove the relationship down your throat and it becomes over done and boring. They get their own time in the spotlight and they share it sometimes as well! Also they aren’t OVER ROMANTIC like no “here are 300 roses and a mariachi band all because I misunderstood something you said earlier!” Like other TV shows do. It’s great realistic and fun relationship

I don't usually like straight couples on tv because there's too much unnecessary drama and the relationship gets boring after a while but these two are an exception. Both characters have good development, are interesting on their own and when you put those two together it can only be amazing. Also the mutual respect and support they have for each other is just amazing.

Love the show, love the relationship sans unnecessary melodrama of jealousies, misunderstandings and what not. Its just friends falling in love and loving each other in a natural manner.
