Where do you recommend staying? Kona or Hilo
Hilo is so rainy and wet that we recommend visiting that area but not staying there. Either stay in Kona or somewhere on the Hamakua Coast. The Hamakua Coast has some larger resorts, nice beaches, and golf courses (if you are into that). The Kona side has access to boat trips for snorkeling and there are many restaurants to choose from and shopping. It comes down to personal preference to a certain degree.
