Ernst violin concerto?
៙_៙ i love the NBS, sato also plays really well!
Bartok is just hard very hard... ufff
Erlkönig?
@@some.random.person I was wondering why it's not on this list also!
7 hardest violin pieces of all time
Roman kim: 🦷🎼
lol
Who doesn’t like their violin music al dente?
Roman Kim made it even harder by using his teeth. I hope no one thinks it is how it is supposed to be. :D
I’ll be called by furious violin teachers that their students start gnawing on the strings after watching this video 😁
Rosin for dinner
Roman Kim is literally modern day Paganini
@@tryingtomakeanamebelike7245 lost child of paganini
@@yeallow910 new delicacy thanks to Roman kim :)
I feel like these composers made the pieces for piano and just said "Oh, and this is for violin" just to make it impossible level.
🤣
@@violinloungeTchaikovsky Violin concerto was definitely one such piece. 😂
Bach was an excellent organ/harpsichord player and for sure used his skills at writing for those instruments when he wrote his violin sonatas & partitas. According to Wikipedia he often performed them on keyboard instruments.
Elkonig is for piano
This confirms that I should never let a violinist slap me with their bowing arm
And never let them pinch you with their left hand.
never let them pinch you with their violin arm cuz their dam good with that
There is so much more less known (but insanely hard) repertoire, like Lipinski caprices, Vecsey caprices, Ernst, Sauret, arrangements for violin solo like Willy Burmester's, of course Roman Kim's, Auer, Milstein etc...
It's always the same repertoire we hear again and again, there is plenty of hidden great art yet to be rediscovered
Pretty sure Ernst's Polyphonic etudes are here.
Link
Ray Chen nailed it with his eyebrows 🤣
Where’s Erlkonig ?
I was thinking the same thing
Technically not a violin piece i thought? Is it piano or violin
@@calebyao. originally Erlkönig was a lieder for piano qnd voice, then Liszt transcribed it for solo piano and another persone transcribed it for solo violin.
@@nicolaspachecoarango Ernst Do it
@@tonki_yt9122 thanks I couldn't remember his name.
Chaconne in a class all its own. Bach was definitely something
The fugues are more difficult imo
I wouldn't have expected any Bach solo pieces to be no.1 or even to be on this list to be honest. But I kind of get it, making such perfect pieces sound as they should is indeed very hard
"Welcome to the restaurant, what would you like today, sir?"
"I'd like G and D strings pasta, please."
If I remember correctly, both Nathan Milstein and Ruggiero Ricci said that Milstein's own arrangement of Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No.1 for solo violin was the hardest piece that they'd ever played. And Ricci had an INSANELY large repertoire, including many obscure virtuoso works that most violinists wouldn't dare play today. Not to mention he was one of the greatest Paganini interpreters of all time. Heifetz said the opening of the Mendelssohn Concerto was the hardest thing in the entire violin repertoire to played in tune. One must perfectly match the intonation of all the E's, G's, and B's. Of course we're talking about technical difficultly here, which is only one component of virtuosity and musicianship. Keeping that in mind, some of Roman Kim's compositions and arrangements could be worthy of a spot on this list as well, but those have yet to be published (come on, Baerenreiter!)
Thanks for sharing! Yes, it would be great if Roman Kim's arrangements would be published (not that I would be able to play them, hahaha)
That first one literally I cried for the violins pain… twosetviolin helppppp
Edit: depressing but this is the most likes ive gotten
40 hours of pain
40 hours of sadness over how I will never achieve this
They already watched it lol, they were more impressed than shocked tbh 😭
YAYYY TWOSETTER!!!!
Ray chen, kerson leong, Hilary Hahn, roman kim ... besties modern of violin
Man that's sime disrespect to Sato. Especially considering among everyone here only Hilary's Chaconne stands up to his.
Chaconne my favorite violin piece and hope i can play it in the future ❤
Wonderfully demonstrating the best technique of the playing.
☺️
THE WAY HE PLUCKED THE STRINGS AT THE BEGGINING💀💀💀💀💀
Damn those rosin taste good
My old violin teacher could play paganini. That was the reason why I started violin LOL, little 3 year old me was in absolute shock.
Somehow watching your string breaking videos (and accompanying expressions) are more alluring than the concert itself😂.
Finally a realistic top, not only with "caprice 24"
Roman kim is me when there is no food in the fridge
Only Hilary Hahn can stand against all these Asian prodigies 😂
Anna Sophie Mutter even more maybe
What about Maria Dueñas?
And David Garrett
Roman Kim
@@rosie0130 david Garrett is more of an entertainer
Ahahahaaa😂 the fourth guy's face when he finished playing 😂😂😂
I'm working on the Chaconne and it is kicking my butt.
the locatelli is not that hard. sibelius concerto 3rd movement? Paganini Concerto sauret cadenza (any of the versions) ?
Agreed
Adès violin concerto, Ligeti violin concerto
Remove the locatelli and Bartok concerto, add Bartok solo sonata and der erlkonig
Paganini violin concerto no.4 should be on this list.
Surprised to see that caprice 24 and erlkonig arent there 😂
Was hard to pick 7, until I make a 100 hardest violin pieces video comments like yours will keep coming 😁
Why would caprice 24 be there 💀
@@cock-asianscamservicegamin3012 i aint asian 😟
@@algominds5 Paganini 24 isnt that hard if you're a professional violinist, however these pieces are a struggle even for the world class soloists
@@realdanielshock yet i see only very few people who perform it perfectly... Like markov, david garett, hillary hahn and a few others
Amazing!!
Thumb Pizzicato is so resonant and powerful
Marvelous!!!! Have seen many of these players
Love it ! But above all Shunske Sato's violin, he is stuuuuunning, and Netherland Bach Society is a great baroque ensemble !
Yes, love them!
Violin Concerto - pieses, ja !
Why I am addicted with violin video
I can't even imagine what the sheet music for these looks like
Ray chen's my fav
As a Roman Kim fan, I totally agree
Omgg im so excited!!! for this AMAZING art to become one in Blackpink new song Shut Down im a fan of this music instrumental 🎼
What about Ernst grand caprice, Sibelius concerto, Paganini Mel cor mi piu sento, Sauret cadenza or scherzo tarrantelle? They all should be on a list somewhere.
THE BACH, WHAT IS THAT RECORDING
It's on the Netherlands Bach Society's youtube channel! Go check it out for some great Bach!
@@user-dj9xk1gu9h thanks
Jai Ho God ji 🙏🙏📚📚🛕🛕
Yesss ray Chen the prodigy
Well he was a prodigy when younger
Dance of the goblins is so fukin hard it should be here as top 8
God save the king more like God save the Violinist
You write true.
🌹🌹🌹❤
🙏❤🌹🌹🌹❤
who agree Emile Sauret's Cadenza on Violin concerto No. 1 should be thrown into there
Good job😊
Wow.... That's why Paganini being called "the devol violinist"
❤🎉❤🎉fantastic
NEED TO TAKE MY VIOLIN IN THE BATHROOM WITH ME NEXT TIME
but they play these pieces so well !!!
Va de difícil a fácil
Italians compositors are thé bests
Wow❤
As someone who can play the entire Bach Chaconne, all other pieces listed are significantly more difficult for different reasons.
Ray Chen👏👏👏👏
1) Beethoven 5 - Roman Kim; 2) Requiem - R. Kim; 3) Mozart Eine Kleine - R. Kim; 4) I Brindisi - R. Kim; 5)Bach AIR - R.Kim 6)Violin Koncerto #1 - R.Kim; Paganini God Save The King;
Roman Kim's requiem is out???
KERSOOOONNNN YAAAAAASSSS
❤❤
Truth on wall
Surprised that I didn't see Paganiniana on here, but these are still very difficult.
first started playing the violin, Twinkle Twinkle~~😂😂
As a professional violinist, I can say it takes a lot of practice. These pieces are very challenging
Definitely
Paganini is just a goat for me
Ernst - Erokönig
thanks to 2SetViolin because of them, Hilary Hahn and Ray chen are well known and have their own Fanbase among Gen Z 😁😃
I'll just write a song with one double stop as a twentieth instead of a tenth and see if anyone can reach it.
Tzigane?
Yeah I know how to play one of them!!!
the chaconne is really hard but not sure if it should be up with these others
For god sake that is so sacrilegious
Kim's Beethoven arrangement.
Just checked it, amazing!
I think his I Brindisi is harder
His own concerto.
Nel cor piu non mi sento?
Non so se lo metterei... Avendolo studiato ed eseguito posso dire che è terribile, ma non così tanto. Però certo che la lista mi trova in disaccordo su diversi punti...
@@f3dyt um what?
@@yeallow910 oh sorry, I was writing in italian ahah. Anycase, I was saying that I wouldn't put Nel Cor in the list because it is "simpler" than it sounds (I've studied and played it a lot, if you want to listen I can send the video link). So yeah, that's all, even if it still remains an extremely difficul piece. Ah, and I don't totally agree with the list in the video
@@f3dyt it is not simpler than what it sound , its a ticket to get RSI
@@yeallow910 ahah. Well, the only thing I can say is that if I could play it decently, then it cannot be that hard.
That's the video: ua-cam.com/video/OLgfvdKPrrI/v-deo.html
Paganiniana, I Brindisi, Di Tanti Palpiti, Der Erlkönig, Zigeunerweisen(?), Scherzo-Tarentella, Niccolò Paganini Violin Concerto number one
Killing two birds with one stone. This is a short I have not yet seen and I also wanted to say something to you. I got an email with the Star-Spangled Banner on sound slice. It's so typically thoughtful of you zlata to do something like that for those of us on the other side of the pond who are celebrating this weekend Independence Day for the 4th of July.
🙏❤❤🎻
Great! Video is coming here tomorrow, thought many across the pond like to play this 👍🏻☺️ Enjoy your weekend!
@@violinlounge ty
I will ❤❤❤🎻❤❤❤
It really reminds me of Beat Saber
What happened to winter- thats literally goes so hard
You should visit Deepak Pandit from India..❤❤
Your beautiful from a fellow violinist with same passion your adorable
You're welcome :)
Honestly you could just do Paganini for all 7
I think it could be I Brindisi, then 6 Paganini pieces
Paganini sold his soul to the devil, now he made song about god.
What in the world kind is this mans faith
God save Eddy
I can argue that all the Mozart violin concertos are considered the hardest ones too! Since classical era string pieces require high level of intonation preciseness
Definitely!
mozart concrrtos are easy af
Goddess Hilary Hahn 😍😍
The rosin😵🦷
Fairlands
I even feel sorry for listening it free
Where are Cage’s Freeman Etudes
Yooo HILARY HANN
Damn the dued biting in the first one
I never thought of using my teeth. I'll have to try that!
Bach ❤❤❤
Oh Hillary Hahn, she’s so amazing, I play violin and at the fourth grade in violin, violin lounge, any tips on how to play caprice 24 by Paganini?
At this point you might just want to hone your technique and already try some Paganini technique. Perhaps you'd like to follow my free Paganini technique challenge: www.violinlounge.com/challenge
❤
Kerson Leong makes Ysäye look easy
Yes, I love his interpretations. I think he's such a great violinist!
La bestia
I was expecting for sibelius haha
* **Fall in spanish** *
Try paganiniana
No way that the Bach one makes the list. It should be Waxman Carmen Fantasy
