Sir, as a Puerto Rican I still have pain for the defeat of one of my idols: Wilfredo Gomez. Also that day, I started to follow the career of in my opinion the best African boxer of all times but furthermore one of the BEST of all time of 130 pounds Azumah Nelson. You fought the best of the best, you won some and lost some, but always put a show on your fights. I hoped many more Ghahanian followed your steps but I don't know why it did not happened. I. Sure Africa have many talents for boxing.
Many are called but few are chosen. Azumah is one of the chosen by God, Nature, Nurture or whatever it is that endows us with excellence.

My dad took me to the Forum in Inglewood, CA. back in 1986 to watch Nelson fight Marcos Villasana. It was a great fight. Later, I saw him fight in Indio against Gabe Ruelas back in 1995. One of the all-time greats.

That was only his 14th professional fight and he fought literally no one of note. He's improved tremendously after the Sanchez fight. As bad as Sanchez was, I think a rematch would have a toss up.

Que diga misa, Sal lo mandó a la lona con todos los gastos pagados ¡que no entreno bien? por pendejo ¿que le faltaron peleas? para qué acepta, se hubiera preparado mejor. Yo sí vi el nivel de Azumah, ahora con UA-cam puedes repasar el vídeo miles de veces. La explicación está en que el nivel de Sal Sánchez era simplemente superior. Tu argumento es algo parecido a los comentarios de Larry Holmes y el otro cronista que no sé quién es, al efecto de: “he’s hurt, he’s hurt…Sanchez is hurt” (está lastimado, Sánchez está lastimado 😂) cuando realmente sólo inventan xq no se ve nada de eso en el vídeo. El otro comentarista expresó: “He staggered him”, (Nelson lo tambaleó) cuando Nelson conectó un golpe, pero igual no se ve en el vídeo que eso haya pasado. Algunas personas, incluidos narradores de box quieren definir la realidad con palabras!!! Eso no existe en la vida real, mas bien es al revés, la realidad crea tus ideas las cuales se expresan con palabras! A Sal Sánchez (RIP) nadie le regaló nada. Hasta el día de hoy los anti-mexicanos se engañan ellos mismos que Nelson iba ganando esa pelea 😂, precisamente porque son influenciados por cronistas corruptos como estos.
