    Really impressive feat, a milestone for sure. Some suggestions for playtesting even more (not at all entertainment wdym) : It would be really cool to do a team deathmatch in the ship while it flies/quantum (would be even sicker if the pilot pulls off little maneuveurs from time to time). It would sure help to see the limits and would be very fun imo. And like mentionned in the comments, testing a crash (or getting rammed by other ships) would certainly be instructive to say the least.
    Anyway, great video, keep on putting great content out there man !

    People will compare this to other MMOs. Those MMOs aren't trying to render full planets, full ship interiors, all traveling at 34 million miles an hour (0.2c) . So let's compare it to other space MMOs. This is 114 people...in a room. Elite Dangerous and No Man's Sky can only do 32 players MAX ...for an entire galaxy! This is 82 more. Nearly 4 times their max. On consoles? No Man's Sky can do 4 concurrent players. And they call their games "MMOs". Now imagine dynamic server meshing, where each server maintains 114 players on a ship. Where 100 ships can each hold 114 players (11,400 people).

    • @yugen
      @yugen 2 роки тому +6

      And almost always combat is simplified, not real time... There's no comparison, and there will not be any games like SC for many years... if ever. Unless they license the engine out.

    • @anthonygordon9483
      @anthonygordon9483 2 роки тому +3

      No Mans Sky is definitely peer to peer technology. I just got done playing it the other day. They use the same technology as GTA. The only shared servers they use in the game is The Anomaly which holds around 32 players. When your traveling with other players your on their computers server not NMS game server. To be a true MMO. The Developers have to own the servers. Like WoW , Final Fantasy Online Or Eve. Which is why they are paid services.

    • @Hippida
      @Hippida 2 роки тому +3

      EO is still the gold standard of MMOs as far as I'm concerned. 8000+ fighting in a single star system....
      Ofc, it helps when they don't have to deal with ship interiors and player characters
