This is the full length of New York State's I-87 from its southern terminus in the Bronx, to the last exit before the Canadian border crossing to Autoroute 15. Traffic is overall smooth, I take a short break at the Capital Region Welcome Center in New Baltimore and get gas on US 11

Amazing how quickly NYC gives way to forests and hills.
And that section with US 11 is one of only two where US 11 shares with pavement with an Interstate OTHER than Interstate 81.
I used to drive up to the Paradox Lake area (exit 25 or so) twice a year…was super scary at night with no lights but was beautiful during the day

You should have taken Autoroute 15. Montreal is a blast, especially in the winter.
On Saturday, July 24, 1976, at 935 a..m, when I was nine and on the way to the Montreal Olympics, around the spot shown at 3:22:35, I marked that moment in time and began measuring how much time had passed since, as a way to track time. First a few days passed, then weeks, months, years, and I always took note of how much had occurred in my life, just so I could measure what was possible to achieve in that period of time. It is now almost forty-six years later and a lot has occurred, that's for sure.

I’m back after enjoying drives in Scotland, England, Norway, Germany, and Italy. If you enjoyed this long drive take Koffamoto’s two stage drive from Oslo to Bergen, Norway. That said, there is a great drive up route 8 from Connecticut, through Massachusetts, to Vermont, for 3:13 hours, which ends in the dark. Nobody’s done a full drive up route 7 from Connecticut to Canada, as yet. At least we’re able to take these drives without paying for the gasoline. Thanks to Full Length Interstate for screening this.
4:23:52 The never built Lincoln Pond Road Exit. You can see the ramp on the right. That's why there is a long gap between Exit 30&31.

5:01:19 The original Exit 37. It was moved back and looped in the 1970's for the new Pyramid mall. The old entrance ramp is still there and used as you'll see in a few seconds.
@A S The only remnants from the actual mall building was the recently closed KMart, which is now a Runnings. And the old Price Chopper is now a Bed Bath & Beyond, and a Planet Fitness.
4:47:26 On the right, you can see what use to be the end of the Northway from the north. It stopped in Keeseville, exited to Rt. 9.
And the Northway and the Major Deegan are the only untolled sections of Interstate 87 - basically, the two ends (northern and southern).

So far I haven’t seen anyone pulled over by the police for speeding. And I haven’t seen a policeman parked where they did some years ago to catch speeders. On a 65 mile an hour route they would nail you if you were doing 72 or more.
Just curious...are you driving at the speed limit? It appears that most everyone is driving very fast.

When I drove to niagara falls via ny thruway I87 and I90 we constantly went at 70 mph, 10 to 15 mph above speed limit
If you check the mileage markers, you will see that he is probably going at the 65 mph speed limit once on the way upstate, coming out of the city he was probably going at 55 or so, which is why more cars are passing. At least he is not getting tickets.
@@scottpardee6303 you can go over spd limit its hard to distinguish a 65 mph car from a 55 mph one which is why most ppl speed.
