PiggyGamingMC I was thinking of Flappy Bird, and couldn't think of a category that includes things like Flappy Bird, but also Snake, Tetris, etc. The last two are so old that they're practically ubiquitous; I've found both of them online, as apps, as standalone PC applications, and I've even written Tetris. Thus, they aren't really arcade games anymore.
+Skyrim_The_Boss Your silly because you don't see that people have these things called FEELINGS!!! Someone may be born one way but FEEL AND THINK another way.
Actually I think Masterjun TASed this a while ago and TASVideos rejected it because it would have been annoying to redefine eveything for a run which doesn't really do much after the initial setup.
+MichaelPlays Typically TAS and normal speedruns are kept separate. Since Seth's run was on console and didn't involve tool assist (unless you count the clips on the controllers as tools), it definitely fits (at least the current definition). Masterjun's wouldn't though.
a simpler explanation The game is basically looking at the positions of things, then thinking THIS IS CODE I SHOULD RUN IT. Seth can manipulate the positions of things Thus he can BREAK THE GODDAMN GAME
Aaaaaand, it happened. "No letting the instruction pointer hit anywhere but ROM, open bus, and the intended RAM area ($7F8000-$7F8182), and no modifying the intended RAM area"
+Gaelan Steele Except that (if I recall correctly) either the orb or the cloud, one of them, actually already has the instruction pointer go into unintended parts of RAM.
For being so complicated, you sure explained it masterfully, Sethbling. Hearing the explanation of how it works is soo much more interesting than just watching motions.
Hey seth! You should trigger the Keyhole on the 72nd event on the overworld map! For those who don't get it, SMW has 72nd different events on the map, with each one activating a certain event like opening a path, unlocking a level, or a save prompt. There's only 72nd Events in SMW. Everytime you complete a level it calls the event of that level. If you complete Level X, it will activate Event 1. However, Keys are special and it activates the events number PLUS 1. So what would happened if you activate a keyhole on the 72nd map event so that it triggers the 73rd event? (Which I think is Funky if I remember)
+〈-thatguyoverthere If you're referring to Yoshi's Island 2, He didn't finish it the second time. He quit the stage halfway through, which doesn't count as exiting it.
One time I was playing this game and was stomping on those gophers coming out of the walls. Suddenly, the game froze and the lives counter rolled up to 99x and then the game went back to the over head view. Never was able to do that again.
See, how it works is that Seth is injecting armor stands into the game's code and then uses /execute commands to put himself relative to the armor stands.
For new categorys, just do 11 exit glitchless. Because the cloud is also data manipulation, just on a far smaller scail. Plus allowing the cloud that skips boss stages is no different from allowing this which skips world stages. Also it'll prevent future manipulation with glitches which will be a huge relief to purist's.
_"Billy, what programming language are you going to learn?"_ Billy: "SMW." _"What is that?"_ Billy: "Oh, I'm just writing my code inside a video game, really nothing too complex."

+Cʀᴇᴇᴘᴇʀsᴛᴏʀᴍ75 1. TAS can also be frame-perfectly crafted movie file or something 2. TAS stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun 3. Clamp is a tool 4. Clamp assists the speedrun 5. It is a Tool Assisted Speedrun 6. Mangek was making a joke
Daniel Vestøl I don't think you know what a movie is. A movie is a file which contains the button-presses and you don't need a robot to send button-presses. Btw, TASBot uses a movie to play a TAS on a real console
Daniel Vestøl Sigh... TASBot can be called a robot but you don't need a robot to play a movie and there is a lot of terminology specific to a certain topic
+taitaylor86 I was actually going to suggest this a couple days ago when I was watching the stream to set this up. It is a perfect definition of a category.
I don't see why they shouldn't allow this. I just discovered hey did ban ACE, but still, this is impressive and if somebody does a world record history of 11 exit this deserves an honourary mention.
If your route doesn't count, the category would probably be renamed to "11 Exit (no re-coding)" and a separate one would be created with the title of "11 Exit (re-coding)."
You basically baked a game genie into the game... Why is SMW the only one I see with this level of glitching and code rewriting? Like, I watched the SMB world record and it was just... a speedy run.
new category as suggested by twitch : 11 exit: no seth allowed
xD
+Chris Fenech i preferred "clamps%"
no no no 11 exit Sethbling style
Masterjun did it faster 2 years ago
+Skyy Official That was a TAS though.
The new 11 exit category would probably be called 11 Exit: No Sethnanigans.
eyyy

Sethnanigans XD
+tyjuji I saw this in the twitch chat during the livestream.
Some people beat the game.
Some people master the game.
Some people make the game their bitch.
And then there's Sethbling.
Lol

The Super Mario World speedrunners must hate Seth
+Samuel Suwa sure, but I think they might love him too, because he definitely helps bring attention to their community ;)
+Demonism #niceshirt
+Jürgen Holtzmann obviously
+Samuel Suwa We love seth.
+Samuel Suwa A lot of the 11 exit runners do sometimes get pissed about it. I personally don't care ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This whole video was made using armor stands and command blocks
Hah, get it.
The device you are currently on is displayed by armor stands and command blocks.
You love invalid power up States almost as much as you love armour stands don't you Seth!
loved armor stands ;_:
new category: 11 exit (No! Bad Seth! Stop it!)
New speedrun category: inject an arcade game of your choice into Super Mario World and speedrun it.
An arcade game??? By the end of 2016 he will be playing minecraft in smw.
+AvA Twisted xD
+AvA Twisted Complete with command blocks and armor stands... :P

This is beyond my understanding
And I am beyond your understanding as well.
+FabulousSteve Seth has a technical explanation for I one of his code injections on twitch. It might help you understand.
Exploit bugs very precisely, change game program in memory, take over, win.
t-pose to assert dominance over the game
Speed running this game has become a coding session. Great to see what you can do with a single game flaw.
+JA7ja I wouldn't call it a "flaw" in the game.
+JA7ja A single game flaw and A LOT of time/thinking to understand the game mechanics in order to make him do what you want.
11 exit: Jesus, what is WRONG with you? edition

New video from SethBling:
Cured Cancer Using Armor Stands in Minecraft Code Injected Inside Super Mario World
now with intelligent ai in smw injection

XD
Seriously, this one is like 8 minutes of precise input... what happened to up up down down left right left right B A?
+Skyrim_The_Boss u gotta hold down 5 buttons at frame 88923/96914 at 5/12 seconds of the bowser fight
+Skyrim_The_Boss Hahaha. This is literally cheat *code* that he injects into RAM.
+Skyrim_The_Boss
Your silly because you don't see that people have these things called FEELINGS!!! Someone may be born one way but FEEL AND THINK another way.
I cant stop seeing seth with baby arms xD
Lol me too xD
+Blaike Savo Thank you for this.
Seth is my spirit animal. makes own category to have the world record
The speedrun community must really hate you cause you keep making them redefine categories.
+Steven
i accually belive they like new challenges. and it is tough to come up with new ways to speedrun, therefore i doubt anyone hates anyone.
+MichaelPlays Yea, but that TAS didn't triggered the end of level, he was able to write Mario's position using 4p (as far as I remember) controller...
+Steven He's a world record holder for the 0 Exit category :P Of course they love/hate him >:P
a simpler explanation
The game is basically looking at the positions of things, then thinking THIS IS CODE I SHOULD RUN IT.
Seth can manipulate the positions of things
Thus he can BREAK THE GODDAMN GAME
I can break the game too. I just take out a hammer and smash it.
+ɐsn ɥɔǝʇ ʍǝıʌǝɹ Do it.
So, people can figure out how to do this crazy shit, but we still can't get a half-decent explanation for why the Hyrule Warriors rupee glitch works.
it's a TAS, you used binder clips.
+Angus MacMullen true :D
+Angus MacMullen Or a co-op speedrun with clips as the second player.
@@MrCheeze A co-op for losers? "These clips are my only friends."
"Someone clip that!"
Dude this is crazier than normal! Good job and congratulations :)

Please make more of this. i like this so much
+Mehmet Enver Tseven agreed
Cheaty SethBling should get the loop hole award.
Good news! It fits the 11 exit type but it's a new subgenre in the speedrun: just like cloud, orb and glitchless
For being so complicated, you sure explained it masterfully, Sethbling. Hearing the explanation of how it works is soo much more interesting than just watching motions.

A guy called nathenisbored already did this with no crazy coding like Seth did
+Cameron Brolly which episode?
seth is totally poppin a chub in this video
This wasn't a valid 11-exit run. Seth exited a stage 12 times.
+〈-thatguyoverthere If you're referring to Yoshi's Island 2, He didn't finish it the second time. He quit the stage halfway through, which doesn't count as exiting it.

+sonic meerkat but cloud is a glitch....
also, 11 exit no major glitches (smashola is allowed) already exists
Remember back in the days when cheatcodes were like: Hold R2 and L2 then up, down, down, left, up, right
well super Mario came before "those days" so these are even older cheat codes
New 11 exit description: no second controller
+Arqideus1988 Also new 11 exit category : Only one controller, No sethbling allowed

96 Exits (or maybe even Max Exits) would be a candidate for this strat, however tedious it might be. Great find, SMW dataminers!
Checked 9 hours after this video was first uploaded and the SMW speedrun leaderboards already have an incredibly specific rule barring this particular case, impressive!
Does using the controller clamps count as tool assisted speedrun?
Nope.
TAS is when you basically go back a few seconds in game if you fuck up so you can redo it.
Although, that's only usable on an Emulator.
+Mangek Omg haha
+Cʀᴇᴇᴘᴇʀsᴛᴏʀᴍ75
1. TAS can also be frame-perfectly crafted movie file or something

So Sponge is a secret character in Super Mario World?
Hey Seth, I made a really cool Armor stand Battle scene from your really helpful armor stand tutorial, Just wanted to say thanks for that video!
absolutely brilliant Seth.
this should be called 11 IXIT(Eleven Injection Exit)
i love these type of glitches, it almost feels like a very complicated game creation engine.
It is just amazing what people are able to do in this game.
2:38 "For those of you unfamiliar with arbitrary code execution" So basically 98% of us
just categorize it with and without code injection
+Trax2oooK1ng then where does using the cloud fit?
Pete Magnuson what? cloud? just dont allow the particular glitch that allows this code execution the yoshi coin powerup fake thing
+Trax2oooK1ng Or easier: Single controller input
+Trax2oooK1ng I like this categorization
anders The cloud is arbitrary code execution.
SethBling, The Destroyer of smWorld
I'm from Brazil and expensive love your videos of bugs and glitches of the Mario world
How expensive are you exactly
kelvin de faria I didn't realize brazilians are expensive

you are my favorite speed runner
Technically is still technically, you got a record
96 exit code injection speedrun
Seth could probably put his skills to make some convincing creepy pasta
Every time I return to one of seths' videos, I am just like kk, why am I even trying to code anything ^^
Interesting tidbt, the "peace sign" mario does after completing a level is actually "v for victory" in Japan. Which of course, makes much more sense.
I watched that entire stream, but I had to walk my dog, which conveniently was when he got the "World Record." fml
This category should be called: Sethbling%
11 exit ace may be a good definition for this route.

900 vids congratulations
Nice world record, if nintendo didn't want him to do it why would they put it in the game?
I wouldn't say they "put it in". It's a flaw with the system due to technical limitations back in those years.
+djpokeboy Your joke detection is off.
My comment is gone?
It was an exploit, meaning they didn't know that there was this glitch before or they couldn't fix it
