+Mortimer Interesting. I never thought of that before. My first name and middle name are "John Paul," and his funeral was held on my 21st birthday, so I thought that was a coincidence too.
I remember the very morning when, hearing that His Holiness had passed away , I could not believe it had happened. Now I can hardly believe it is 40 years ago since he was taken from us. As an Anglican I pray that all people of faith or no faith may come together in love and peace and that he may rest in eternal peace and rise in glory.
Me too, I couldn't help being utterly shocked when I heard. Despite what the Vatican told the world, he didn't appear to be suffering from any serious illness (and, as it turned out, he was definitely not); he always looked so happy with what he was doing :-)
Alexander Hendry Investigative journalist David A. Yallop conducted research on Luciani's death and concluded he was overall a healthy and energetic man. With his proposed reforms, Luciani stood in the way of the Mafia and Italian freemasonry, and Yallop believes that the grand master of this very powerful Italian Masonic lodge, Propaganda Due, had the "Italian Solution" applied to the problem.
@@wkehl2011 I would not be one bit surprised. Also, he probably found out about the child abuse and its connection to the Vatican Banks, (see PBS Frontline's "Secrets of the Vatican") and was about to roll up his sleeves and commit massive reform and a return to the pursuit of true holiness... Can't have that!
Oh FUCKING GOODY gumdrops ! We need some more of those. Never mind wars; overpopulation and abuse of children; but DEFINITELY let's have another arsehole to hang on the wall.
Merci au commentateur de la vidéo. C'est très émouvant avec tous les mots bien choisis qui décrivent l'événement et la personne du Pape Jean Paul I. Bravo.
It’s always sad to see people so happy being taken from us. And no matter what, this pope was smiling. I’m glad he’s getting closer to becoming a saint.
Does anyone happen to know the title of mournful piano piece that plays at the very beginning? It's very moving, and I'd like to find out any information on it if possible.
It is said of him that he didn't want to be pope but he couldn't help being overwhelmed by the speed and size of the vote. Also, at the moment Villot asked him if he accepted the papacy, the two cardinals that sat on either side of him (The Netherlands' Johannes Willebrands and Portugal's Antonio Ribeiro) still kept encouraging him. One of them said "Courage. If the Lord gives you a burden, He will help you carry it." The other one nodded and added "The whole world prays for the new pope."
That's most apparently what happened; whoever murdered him or planned his murder was determined to mask the act. Also, Cardinal Jean Villot, who was Pope John Paul I's secretary of state and then became camerlengo because of the death, acted and made statements so as to ensure that someone got away with poisoning Luciani.

I've read the night before his death,John Paul I was going to anounce his decision to bring back the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass & Traditional Sacramental rubrics.
Why they elected him?He was going to make changes then they took his life. Is there proof, the video goes no further. What about a toxicology or autopsy report. The powers that be won't allow it.
He was an angel on earth...he was poisoned...he was too spiritual for all the petty circumstances of the Vatican...but I believe that God wanted to give him a bit of worldly glory, to leave his imprint in our hearts...the best way to preach is with presence...I saw him on TV when I was 9...and will never forget him...

Why was he a Saint?
Wow.
So so sad. May he pray for us...
His passing was certainly very untimely :-|

I love the narrator also. When I'm on the radio, I want to try to make my voice quiet but clear like that.
Heaven was crying on John Paul I:s funeral... :(
I'm sure it did; It probably did so meaning "forgive them, for they know not what they are doing."

A genuinely decent person.

Prelude n.4 op.28 in E minor by F. Chopin
No, John Paul I
33 Pontificate
Yes it's sad he died but without that there would be no John Paul II
We don't have a idea that Jonh Paul II brings... Child Rapism.
..does anyone know the piece playing starting at 5:45..? thanks..
Erik Satie - Gymnopedie No. 1 - Aldo Ciccolini
you welcome
Does anyone know the opening soundtrack of this video? It is not Satie, as far as I know. Surely it is Chopin?

Mártir....
Mesmo ele tendo um papado de 33 dias, tinha que abrir um processo de beatificação e canonização!
O processo já está aberto. Suas virtudes heróicas já foram reconhecidas, agora falta uma graça alcançada pela intercessão dele.

Well Francesco is still pope so I think we’re good in that regard
