Gday Ian Castle here your Aussie Vocal Coach and this is the BaSs Vocal Warm Up and Workout Daily Routine. This set of exercises will quickly warm up your voice and then focus on strength, range, pitch and agilty. You will hear my voice demonstrating each exercise. I will add timestamps and chapters so you can find each exercise if you need to skip ahead or repeat. Make sure you sing in a comfortable range and don't push or strain to hit the notes.
00:00 Intro
00:32 Warm Up Exercise 1: 5 Note Scale Hum.
This exercise will help with forward tone placement. Sing the notes with a relaxed face at low volume.
02:22 Warm Up Exercise 2: Lip Trill Arpgeggio.
This exercise will warm up your higher range and balance your air pressure and vocal cord closure.
04:04 Warm Up Exercise 3: Vowels Arpeggio.
This exercise will warm up your articulators, your lips tongue and jaw while also sustaining a relaxed vocal tone. Aim to transition smoothly between the vowels with pushing.
05:45 Workout Exercise 1: Chest Voice (Triad)
This exercise will focus on your chest voice range. You need to focus on singing with an open throat and remember to drop your jaw for more mouth resonating space. For those who want to sing higher than chest voice I have included extra notes that will continue into mixed and head voice.
07:52 Workout Exercise 2: Head Voice Transition (Descending Scale)
This exercise is a descending scale starting in your middle range and gradually ascending into head voice. Make sure you don't force your voice as you sing higher. You will need to support your voice and maintain connection as you descend back down your range.
11:23 Workout Exercise 3: Mixed Voice (Broken Chord)
This exercise will focus on your mixed voice range. You will transition in and out of your middle range using a broken chord pattern on the sounds NEE and AY. This exercise will also develop placement and strength in your upper mix and head voice.
14:09 Workout Exercise 4: Agilty and Pitch
This exercise is a descending scale using and alternating pattern of one step up and two steps down. This pattern with help to improve your vocal agility and fine tune your pitch. Keep your tone light and connected and make sure you support with correct breath pressure as you descend through your head voice transition.
17:55 Workout Exercise 5: Range Extension (Extended Arpeggio)
This exercise is an extended broken chord arpeggio to extend and strengthen your vocal range. We will sing a lip trill to maintain balanced breath pressure and a relaxe throat. If you can't do the lip trill choose a vowel that is most comfortable for you in your upper range.
20:42 Workout Exercise 6: Range Extension (Round Scale)
This exercise is a full range exercise that will expand and strengthen your voice. The note combinations will also improve your pitch targetting. We will sing the NOH sound for this exercise. As you approach the highest notes you will need to shift into mixed and head voice. Make sure you support the notes as you descend from the highest note as you will be transitioning down through your register breaks.

I really appreciate your bass exercises as there are not very many bass voice exercises on UA-cam.
This is a solid workout, and for free? Thank you very much!
Thank you for a fantastic series of vocal workouts. Definitely the best on UA-cam, extremely helpful and easy to follow
Once again, an excellent video! Very comfortable notes for a bass with a good record in the low notes
Thank you so much❤❤

One day bass-baritone warm up will be reedited. I am a believer.
Thank you!

You’re welcome and Hi 👋

I have a question. There are several vocal exercises for basses. It has the workout, warm up, strengthen and the complete workout. Do you have a right sequence of exercises? Should you do them all per day? How many days in the week?
Do them 3 times a week give your muscles rest.

will this help me hit lower notes? My lowest note currently is a Eb2 and I want to bring it down more to at least a C2. What should I do?
Regular warm up and exercise will give you results. It is likely that you can attain C2 with some patience. A variety of different warm ups without pushing too far. Specifically use lip trills and then vocal fry exercises.
(for reference, my low note was a C2 and I can now reach G1 when I'm rested, hydrated and the stars align)
Think of it like any exercise, warm up, gradual build up without straining and rest. Really remember to rest your body and your voice.
@@user-mx3jv1yv3nDUDE I WISH TO ACHIEVE THAT SOMEDAY
Please make a new mixed voice workout video
Hoping for the baritone vocal exercises 🤞
