Guillome was on Benson- he was the Butler. Captain and Tenille, they never said her first name, Tony. I’m from Cleveland, glad you made it Arsenio. We know some of the same people.
Arsenio Hall is a great man and had an awesome show, but was completely shut down, and for all practical purposes - disappeared - when he had Louis Farakaan on. He was warned by mostly Jewish interest not to put Farakann on, but did it anyway, for entertainment, but also to show "independence". His complete expulsion or deletion from the entertainment world showed 3 things; 1. The power of Jews in entertainment. 2. That black people are still on the plantation. And 3. How dependent black people are on white people. You've barely heard 2 words from Arsenio, and his show was canceled in its prime. He's a good guy and, admittedly Farakaan is a little twisted, but Arsenio had a right to have him as a guest.
Where is Arsenio Hall he was a great actor with Eddie Murphy his late show was great although I had to put my young kids to bed and myself what a intelligent guy come back Arsenio.
Johnny Carson could be the comedian or the 2nd banana.. the straight man… Watch him with Rodney Dangerfield just feeding him the questions… but he was also a great audience… Robin Williams would have him bent over laughing…
Arsenio Hall good though he was, And held very popular ratings was not a T V "pioneer". The word pioneer means "early settler". In this case those who were there in the begining when T V started 1948 to around 1959. After that, The industry got it's act together and airing live shows began to cease. Sadly there may be some who feel this is a race based decision. It is not at all. If you want to talk about Afro-american Pioneers one who come quickily to mind is Ivan Dixon, In a Twlight Zone episode he portrayed Bolie Jackson professional prize fighter. And he did a quality acting job through out. Later on he was in the W W 2 T V show Hogans Hero's with Bob Crane. He was around acting in the begining, which makes Ivan Dixon a geniune pioneer.
That sitcom with the puppet was a show called "SOAP".
I always like Hall. I’m impressed with his intellect after watching this interview.
