idk where else to put this but i cant stop thinking about ranger's motivations. defiance kills for no reason and they spare for no reason. it was never about prey, he wanted to turn rainhaze into his own personal project. to make him a killing machine. a couple pheasants seems to be more food than a single cat would carry, and we know dustfeather's body was completely intact meaning she wasn't used as prey. it was senseless killing, and i LOVED it. do you think rainhaze ever realized this? he still reached for ranger when he was dying.
