I really admire how good of care you take of Poppy. I wish every animal had caring pet parents, especially for the exotic. I was an animal keeper for 30 years and Poppy brings me so much joy everyday and being so well cared for. She is lucky to have you two but you two are the luckiest to have her. I’m glad you are honest about Poppy as a pet. So many people love the idea of exotic pets but don’t consider the realities. It’s not good for the people but is usually worse for the pet. I see people posting about trying to adopt big cats. I can’t even begin to think about housebreaking and a litter box.
I wonder if the reason she’s licking metal is if she’s looking for a salt lick (ex. Horses have salt/mineral blocks that they lick for micro nutrients).?
