What a great video! We're glad our neighbours in Newfoundland were able to host you after the hurricane. Seeing the northern lights on that part of the island is a rare treat! We had some damage in Nova Scotia as well, so we're glad there was enough of Halifax opened up for you to explore. Hope to see you again some time!
Hope you have all made a smooth recovery from this hurricane season! Looking forward to planning my return trip soon! Missing Cape Breton was the biggest tease of the entire trip. :)
@@akfasso Definitely. Some areas were definitely harder hit than others. Cape Breton is beautiful, especially in fall. If you go back to Gros Morne National Park, you could do a trip through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park and then on to Newfoundland. Both parks are beautiful and have amazing hiking and other adventures to offer, like whale watching and kayaking. Perfect for those who love nature.
I'm very impressed with the production and artistic qualities of this video. Your narration content is great, and you seem very natural. Please keep making videos you like. Also, I can't believe you don't have more subscribers.👍
Hi I am a solo traveler 🧳 from the UK and I will also be doing the Canada 🇨🇦/New England cruise 🚢 in September 2024, I am so happy I stumbled on your vlog, it was a joy to watch and I am getting so excited. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for posting this. My husband and I are thinking about taking this cruise next year, but it would be the 7-day. Seeing the Northern Lights would be awesome.
Never sailed on a New England/Canada cruise before. It is on my wish list, especially since I live close to NYC thus an easy commute to the cruise terminal. I look forward to your tour of the ship & more Northern lights info. It’s always a “Joy” watching your travel channel.
Very good video! Hubby and I are doing the MS Volendam Boston to Montreal this June, our first night celebrating our 39th anniversary. It will be our first ocean-going cruise.
Great video. We sail with princess cruises mid September 7 days. Hope the weather okay 🙏... First visit to Canada and New York.. can't wait..thank you you have given us some great ideas..
glad you got to visit my neck of the woods. Looks like you took full advantage of visiting what we here in Canada take for granted. Congrats on that. In 2016, we drove down to Boston to hop on a cruise to Bermuda. Bermuda was being hit by hurricane Nicole as we drove past Saint John, NB and Portland ME, not knowing if our cruise was going to be rerouted back this way. We got lucky and did make it to Bermuda. I was joking with my wife that if we were cruising to Canada, I was going to rent a bus and offer guided tours in order to recoup some of my money LOL.
Wow fantastic video. Very informative and I loved your attitude regarding the itinerary change. Some people would be upset, but you just seemed to roll with it. I’m considering the 8 day cruise from NY to Quebec City next September on the Joy. I did an Alaska cruise on the Joy and it was an awesome ship! We will see! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for a really interesting video. We’re travelling from Ireland in early Fall to cruise on the NCL Joy from NYC to Quebec, taking in some of the ports you featured. But what was most useful was a glimpse of the weather, from a what to pack point of view. Certainly seems as varied as Ireland at that time of year.
“Varied” is the absolute correct word to describe this time of year here. 😂 I packed something for all types of weather - a fall jacket, pants, bathing suit, shorts. Hope you have a wonderful time!
Fantastic video. We're cruising from Baltimore to Quebec in September (our first cruise) and it feels a bit overwhelming. But we are looking forward to seeing the sites and experiencing the food.
We have a Canada/NE trip plan from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale this month. You have a great video, I love being to see some of the places we are going. Though like you, we seem to be threatened with hurricane storms. I have wondered if our itinerary will change last minute, like you said you just have to switch gears and roll with it. 😊
We've done the Canada/New England cruise twice on NCL and would definitely recommend a cruise that either starts or ends at Quebec City and that includes sailing up the Saguenay to La Baie, Quebec. We were there the first week of October and the fall colors were the best. We also had the surprise visit to Corner Brook, Newfoundland due to the hurricane.
@@kiltedkiller8178 We left from Boston and took a gamble and flew in the day of the cruise. Stayed with friends in Quebec City. We've never had NCL book a hotel.
I have never done any cruise but have had my eye on Norwegian for a while. The weather did not seem to cooperate but it sure looked beautiful. We just got back from Hawaii and as im sitting here watching this I looked at my wife and said “We shoulda done that instead” 🤣😂
IF you do Fijords .MSC were great.. We are in UK .so sailed from Southampton. . It's probably up there with one of my ALL time cruise's.. spectacular scenery... We're considering the Hawaii trip. But flight from UK sooo long..
Do you mind telling me the precise dates of your cruise? The colors look perfect and that's why I ask so that my husband and I know when will be peak season for leaves. Thanks. Great video, btw😊
September 23 - Oct 3. I will say, though you may see some pops of color in the video, we were about a week or two earlier than peak colors! It varies every year. Hard to time it exactly, but if I were to try to do it again, I might book the first week of October instead. :) Enjoy your cruise!
Hi, I’m just seeing your video which is really nice and wanted to know when did you go and what were the temperatures? I’m going the first part of September and not sure how to pack. Any information would be appreciated. 😊
Sept 23 - Oct 3! Oh gosh… I can’t exactly remember what I was wearing, but I suspect temperatures were in the 50s and 60s (°F). I remember thinking it was very comfortable weather to explore each city in. Not too hot or too cold. On the ship, I’d often be outside under a blanket enjoying the sun. Have a great trip!
Sending positive thoughts your way that you get to go to PEI! I felt the same way about my Cape Breton (Sydney) stop that was skipped. That’s why I booked that cruise! Alas, weather is out of our control and I was happy NCL arranged for us to visit another destination (Newfoundland), which ended up being my favorite destination of the trip!

Canada has got to be the most overatted country on the planet aside from the UAE and China, everything is over priced, no freedom of speech which can get you in trouble federally if say the wrong things publically, and the RCMP is the most corrupt police organization in North America (which is saying a lot). I lived in Canada until two years ago until moving to Vermont, and the Northeast US is far nicer (not in the fake east coast canada meaning of "nice") and more welcoming than Northeast Canada. Canadas downfall and economic poverty is truly heartbreaking the last 7 years
Obviously as a cruise traveller, you only see the positive and polished tip of the iceberg of any destination. But just like Russia, Qatar, China, Cuba, and the UAE, the Canadian government hides all of the poverty behind plywood fences, displacing homeless people to hide the mass poverty on the Canadian east coast, and only gives licenses to tourism operators that donate to the Liberal party

Going on a MSC with the same itinerary you were scheduled. Did you need Canadian dollars for the food stops in the ports?
I believe I used my credit card for all Canadian purchases.
Did you do a video on the actual ship inside and the food.

Where do you pick up the rental car in C orner brook?
I booked with Enterprise. They sent someone down to the port to pick me up and bring me a short drive up the road to their offices.
When was this cruise?
September 2022.
