Wait so you get 2 of them adapter things, one you put in the outlet and plug it into your computer/console. And the other adapter goes downstairs and into the router right?

Hey TheEngineeringFamily! Can you or anyone else tell me what is the thing called? What cable is running above the Powerline adapter (the greyish one). Watch at or after 0:57 minutes please. I need the know the wall plate, the socket in which you plugged the Powerline adapter, the socket in which the greyish category 5e kinda cable, the cable itself .

I have had very good result with these adapters. I actually bought the pass through plug version to avoid losing a socket and then plugged the extension strip into that. Manufacturers recommend that you don't plug powerline adapter into a strip as this may slow it down, especially if it has a surge protection. I had a poor wifi signal for my lap top in the basement of an old stone house. Using the powerlione adapters has made all the difference. I am not technically minded but had them up and running in minutes. They are literally plug and play, no software or intricate setting up required.

I finally figured it out - but can't explain it. My model number is
Powerline 500 +WiFi. Thanks for your concern. BTW does it make a
difference where/which unit is plugged. I have the "big" (three
vertical lights at top) unit plugged into the computer output side?

I got this and ditched the slinglink turbo 1. I got the powerline nano 200. I get about 14.5-16.5 mbps to my PS3 when I plug my ps3 directly into my router I constantly get 20mbps.

How reliable are these devices? I ask these questions, for I've read some bad reviews at amazon, and I don't want to waste money. Most of the bad reviews claim that just after a few month of usage the speed drops and in some cases the devices fail completely including the more expensive Netgear devices. Anyhow, thank you for your video.

These devices add biologically disruptive frequencies to your homes wiring, also known as dirty electricity. Some think these are the lesser of two evils compared to wifi, but I would just use ethernet and stop gambling with your family's health.
