For real. Get that foundation up at least a foot off the ground for airflow to reduce humidity under it and separate it from the wet ground. Concrete blocks should do the trick.
I love how you said “I haven’t cussed him out” I have been married for almost 20 years and my wife would agree that, if no swear words are said it’s a successful group project.
And some support under the center of the floor. With your soft ground and when you put some weight in there it will sink a little especially when it rains. Cement blocks not jungle rot. I admire your energy !
Dude I am worried for them! Rain has been really crazy in PR... PR real rainy season started in MAY! Many rivers have really overflowed and in all my life I have not seen some towns underwater like this time ... Even important highways have been affected... I just hope everything is ok, when they return from Honeymoon vacation.... I was really worried when they move the camper to lower ground! Climate change is real... and it's showing everywhere...
Kristen has such a good eye for the way things look . Where did she go wrong looking at you? LOL. No, It is a time saver to get your tools organized. And she is the luckiest girl to have a do it yourself guy like you Mat. Dam how frustrating was that bobcat! So much potential and such a let down. favorite shed accessories, ceiling hooks and racks, electricity and light.
Just read some of the comments. Wow. For our money, You guys work great together. And I'm glad Kristin has a thick skin, though she shouldnt have to. We love you both!
Kristen, I could tell you were just full of joy in today's episode! You're happiness and joy is contagious. I just can't stop smiling now. 😁 I hope someday to find a wife who compliments me like you compliment and synergize with Matt. I am so looking forward to following you and Matt as you continue your life journey. All the best to both of you!
You two were my favorite sailors and now you're my favorite homesteaders. Only question I have is will there be a housewarming/meet and greet campout one day? I'd sure love an invite. Bless you both.
Great job guys ! Just fyi, termites LOVE plywood so unless it is marine plywood, I would be spraying for them before they eat the guts out of each sheet. It will happen.
I loved this episode! I watched it twice. The second time I did it so I can read all the wonderful comments 👍🏽🥰💯 all your pets look so happy 🥰✨💫⚡️❤️🌴🙏🏽
Hi folks - You two make such an amazing team. Your Love for each each, nature, wildlife and domesticated animals shine through your eyes and your smiles like rays of Light. I am looking forward to see what comes next. Namaste
Great job! Keep those chicks safe. My neighbor lost 2 chickens to a hawk in his backyard. They had to install a large covered dog kennel to house the coop & chickens in. No more free range. You guys are so good to your animals💖 They love you and it shows. ☺️
You'll like the new plastic shed. Replaced my old rotted-out wooden shed with a similar one about 3 years ago and it's been great. No more water leaks and hardly any insects. I added a cheap solar powered interior light and movable wire shelving. They really are a cost effective, relatively easy way to go.
Putting up a Peg Board is super useful for organizing. You can move hooks around and hang most of your bigger tools as well as all kinds of things like hoses, wire, and small peg board shelves for little things.
Salutations from Allentown Pennsylvania hey guys I have a suggestion you can use the debris from your old cement house fill in your new house foundation that way it will be repurposed completely cleaning your entrance
Matt definitely needs a workshop! At least with supplies, feed, tools, lumber, equipment, etc. Once he has it, I'm sure he'll become a teddy bear. I would.
That's a good looking shed, the animals are adorable, and happy for every step forward, even the 2 steps back, because look where you live, it's beautiful.💖
Use what’s left from the house to build your trailer pad, just trough the busted up stuff down as backfill. Little extra labor but saves a buck. Recycling is good
Rented equipment no matter where you rent are notorious for being beat and always break down. I learned 2 things, never rent if ever possible, if you know you need it try and buy no matter what. Almost forgot, never lend it because guaranteed it will come back broke. These apply to all tools and equipment, I am s as always glad to have it when needed
Hang in there. Love you and the animals. Shed is awesome. I can relate to your relationship. Jack and I of 56+ years of marriage are opposite personalities. We are 83 yo and healthy no regrets.. you will have a long, life together.
It would probably be a good idea, since you have a hill leading right to where you're setting up, to dig a trench around the camper, pad, storage, etc. and throw down some rock and perforated drain leading to the drop-off. When the rainy season comes that looks like a good place for a lot of water to accumulate. Having a dozer push some dirt up to elevate a pad would be a good idea as well.
Love Ya'll, and greetings from Gulf Shores. Matt, forecasters are predicting a very active storm season this year. As you plan.....assume you are going to be getting a lot of rain this summer!!! Given your location, managing the rainfall on your property should be #1 on the list of considerations. Plan your drainage.... I know you understand after dealing with drainage issues on the boat! Be safe and enjoy the ride!!!
I know you have plenty of projects but here's one we have : A carport structure with a roof and open sides used for building things in the shade & breeze . Good for storing materials that don't fit in the storage shed . You're making great progress on your ranch !
L.E.D lights. one or two solar panels on pole will increase the usefulness of this build 100 fold. I had to get perits and run under lines to power ours but it is well worth it to have lights. Great job. Great Video.
Yes, getting some form of electricity to the solar panels and using LED lights is a must for any shed or workspace especially if you’re trying to charge up tools
Love watching you guys work with all the cute goats, kitties and chickens all around. Place is really shaping up. Still miss the boat now and then. Congratulations on upcoming wedding.
Yes yes yes, great animal content! THANK YOU. You guys are killing it with progress. Are you going to video the wedding? And why is David up top? We didn't understand. Something about babies? Go go go guys!
Your permanent place for the trailer needs to be cement on top of the rock after the rock is seriously packed down, preferably by some sort of steam roller. Let the wrecker come down the road to get the bobcat as is and don't pay them a dime. They owe you big time for all the repairs, parts and labor. Any court would agree with you. I was hoping you'd leave an overhang on the roof of the new chicken coop. In the rain forest everything benefits from an overhang.
Nice to see you got the proper gravel for the driveway! Top it with the stuff they brought you on the second delivery, the stuff with the fines/dust in it. That's what will lock it all together. Make sure the wettest areas have at least 8" of the big gravel, and drive on that a couple weeks, before topping it. Will probably have to add more before topping.
You could use some of the extra cinder blocks that you have as footing for the shed to get it up off the ground. Make sure to put a couple in the center under it so it does not start to sag in the middle also.
Oy, where to start. The video makes it clear it is a big mistake to leave out cross-supports under the plywood at 16". Also, lack of support under the entire structure, there should be legs down to earth at least every 16". Lastly. if the wind blows there (hint) some sort of tie-down to the ground is necessary. All is not lost though. Love seeing the progress.
A commenter gave you good advice. Get an ocean container. Anywhere from 20' to 53'. They are used but make excellent lockable storage boxes. But support them on concrete steps from your local builder's supplier.
Garden Shed: You will need shelving, a Peg Board on one side to hang wrenches & tools, this is great way to organize and quick access. Bolt, nut, washer, nail, screws & misc. bins. Possibly you may want a work bench with a vice for rainy days, but I think the work bench, would be better on the outside with a lean-too over it. Lots of good ideas when you google it. This was a good idea, the time you will save having this Tool Crib will be huge, you wont waste 1 to 2 hours a day looking for misplaced tools. Good luck, I'm cheering for you guys. Gary - AB Canada
I bought a larger version of the shed and it’s been amazing. Built my own shelves out of 2x4’s and particle board for width and strength …. Love watching your adventures!
I love how your animals hang out close to you. It’s almost like a bunch of children who love their parents. So cute to watch. Too bad the Bobcat wasn’t reliable enough, they really are an indispensable tool for the farm. I have a Case 1845C Uniloader with a cadre of attachments that needs a new home, too bad I love that machine too much to advertise it for sale!
Love the episode. Sucks when your tools break and you lose that much time. Nice shed. Make sure to have a small work bench with a vice. A work shelf, even. Seeing the results of your own labor is a special feeling and Kirsten has got those feels, it looks like.
How about a huge deck surrounding the Trailer where you are just a foot or so above the ground but you can have patio furniture (outside type), fire pit, some free standing fans, cook outside, ......... where you can hang out off the jungle floor.
It's coming together. For my shop I use see through plastic tubs to keep like products together. Electrical, Plumbing, tools. They can be stacked and pulled out without mess other things. Cheers
When life gets hectic virtually visiting the paradise you two are creating makes for a good get-away. So, thank you Team MatKrist!! Good golly y'all get a lot done between videos.
This from a 72 year old woman, you are doing what I wanted to do but no longer can. So happy for you
Wood directly on the ground? An open invitation to both rot and termites. We love you guys!
For real. Get that foundation up at least a foot off the ground for airflow to reduce humidity under it and separate it from the wet ground. Concrete blocks should do the trick.
Matt, keep listening to Kristin. She beautifully balances out your impulsive nature. A good team.
The love and respect between the two of you as well as living in harmony and love with your animals is simply beautiful!
That is my feeling exactly also… They do my heart good
This is the best show on UA-cam. I try to make time to see it every week Sunday here.
I love all the animals running around :)
I agree, yet there are so many obligations and worries. I have a monster Ram, he is my buddy, following me everywhere.
Kristen your editing skills are amazing, top notch. I sure like your new living area, more privacy and very beautiful.
Great music!
I love how you said “I haven’t cussed him out” I have been married for almost 20 years and my wife would agree that, if no swear words are said it’s a successful group project.
You should have put a better foundation down and on cement blocks. With all the rain and humidity, your fountain is going to go bad quickly.
And some support under the center of the floor. With your soft ground and when you put some weight in there it will sink a little especially when it rains. Cement blocks not jungle rot. I admire your energy !
Dude I am worried for them! Rain has been really crazy in PR... PR real rainy season started in MAY! My favorite shed accessory is a kegerator!

That isso funny how the goats are claiming the house. You guys are totally an awesome couple
matts not afraid to try anything you are a lucky girl to have this man he is handyer than he lets on . humble matt
You guys are doing awesome on the new land.
Just read some of the comments. Wow. For our money, You guys work great together. And I'm glad Kristin has a thick skin, though she shouldnt have to. We love you both!

In the future painting the subfloors all subfloors is a must
Matt and Kristin, thank you for sharing your homestead build, and all the funny quirks 0f living in rain forest.
Great job guys ! Just fyi, termites LOVE plywood so unless it is marine plywood, I would be spraying for them before they eat the guts out of each sheet. It will happen.

Love. The cat supervision

They love you and it shows. ☺️
You two are awesome. Kristen's bubbly enthusiasm and Matt's dogged determination makes you unstoppable!
what a powerhouse of a man !!!! fighter and a lover. Nice couple!!!

Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Put some rock under that shed and add concrete blocks all the way around to get it level and keep it stable.
And perhaps anchor it so it doesn't get blown away. Crossing cables over the top and anchored into ground is common.
Kristen does such a good job with the music on these videos!
Another awesome video 🎉❤
She’d looks great! That bobcat would of caused me to lose it🫣 you handled it well!
Salutations from Allentown Pennsylvania hey guys I have a suggestion you can use the debris from your old cement house fill in your new house foundation that way it will be repurposed completely cleaning your entrance
Like the shed a lot .
I am hooked -the boat and the homestead - both on my bucket list. I wish there was a chronological way of watching the videos
Matt definitely needs a workshop! At least with supplies, feed, tools, lumber, equipment, etc. Once he has it, I'm sure he'll become a teddy bear. I would.
Nice to see your steady progress working together.
Good morning landlubbers and ranch hand Bear and ranch hand crew 😊

Get another one of those units and turn it into your chicken coop or goat house. Either one would love it.

Good advice because it’s true
Oh no - the old neglected farmhouse is almost gone!! 😮
I love that you two fuss, you show that you are human. These perfect youtubers get on my nerves.
Hang in there. Love you and the animals. Shed is awesome. I can relate to your relationship. Jack and I of 56+ years of marriage are opposite personalities. We are 83 yo and healthy no regrets.. you will have a long, life together.

Yes!
Love how all the animals wanted to get in before you had finished the job. As always great work ethic by you both well done. Looking good well done.❤❤

He could finish the demo of the old house and use the existing tile floor for a carport or patio.
Standing in front of the fence looks like a green screen image, great job, beautiful!
Awesome job guys
Cool tool shed. I’d like to see the road now that it’s done
L.E.D lights. one or two solar panels on pole will increase the usefulness of this build 100 fold. I had to get perits and run under lines to power ours but it is well worth it to have lights. Great job. Great Video.

Need a bar for them to sit on and where are the boxes going. You can put chicken wire on top to protect them from preditors.
Flower boxes are available for that shed and a bench ,have fun

You 2 work beautiful together 👏🏽👏🏽💪🏾💪🏾❤️👍👍🥃🍷🥃🍷⛵️⛵️⛵️🏠🏡❤️🌻🌻🌻
Right at 8:25 the view of the fence and the landscape work you two did there looks soooooooo goood!!! Well done.
Goats are so cute!
Lovin your channel. You guys have a great relationship. Have fun and treat each others with respect ...shared from 50 years of a good marriage!

That broke cider block wall material, if broken up small enough, would make nice fill for areas of your driveway.
It’s not a shed till you have a beer fridge a couch and a TV.
Oy, where to start. The video makes it clear it is a big mistake to leave out cross-supports under the plywood at 16". I wonder about termites.
Totally agree. Here in the US Virgin Islands we call those sheds "hurricane food".

Best shed accessories, a comfy chair, a foot stall and a bong. Boomshanka - may the seed of your loins grow heavy in the belly of your woman x

'i am a beautiful Yetti Cooler, not a step ladder!'
Nice build ❤
Love Mondays because you guys post come through
Great job on the shed. But it won’t take long to outgrow it.
I love how your animals hang out close to you. It’s almost like a bunch of children who love their parents. So cute to watch. So much work.
Land is looking good. Keep up the good work together.🫂🫂
Everything looks fantastic. The animals are so happy.
Looks great y’all did a good job, I would get hangers for hand tools. And pegboard for little things. Lifesavers
Every homestead must have a man's best friend,a dog 🐕.
My Kind of People ❤
great watch as usual guys !!!! the best complement I have is ,, " Damn 7 more days untill the next chapter " Be safe
Starting to come together nicely. The road down to your place was the first challenge. It looks good!
Your surroundings are more beautiful with each passing video ❤
I love Matts new home, " for his tools"... ha ha. I name it the Snake.Hole.
The new owners are gonna appreciate all these little trinkets u are adding to the property!😎
Although I feel bad for your tractor your fence and gravel in the front looks SOOOOOOOO GOOD!
Love the episode. Sucks when your tools break and you lose that much time. Nice shed. Make sure to have a small work bench with a vice. A work shelf, even. Seeing the results of your own labor is a special feeling and Kirsten has got those feels, it looks like.
You guys are true homesteaders. Great work. Way to hang in there.
Build a workbench for the shed. Add power and a light(s).
I’m just going to say it, a plastic shed without a slab is going to last about as long as it takes for the first hurricane to blow through.
You two make my day. Thank you both!
How about a huge deck surrounding the Trailer where you are just a foot or so above the ground but you can have patio furniture (outside type), fire pit, some free standing fans, cook outside, ......... where you can hang out off the jungle floor.

Hey Lady Krissy, my favorite "Shed Accessory" is, "Y'all should'a built a bigger shed; but hey, that's just me? Let me know, I'll be right here?
