Hearing Gods word is different from Listening Gods word. One must really listen to Gods word in order to Hear Gods word.
He regarded us as his children. Yes my mum taught me that jesus spoke that little faith verse as a loving parent seeing there little child trying to copy them. Not with condemnation, but with love and joy, a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. Well that's more my perception than my departed mums description, but that's what I got.

What an encouraging Chapter. I really love the chapters that give us a glimpse of God's heart!
I love the fact that Jesus is so kind and so gentle. While I was listening to the sermon, I thought about a dream I had a number of years ago.
I walked into a house and there was Jesus doing the dishes. We talked a little bit, then I went outside. I walked towards a wooden fence that had bushes on the other side. Then beyond that was some kind of meadow or field. I nearly reached the fence and then suddenly stopped. On the fence and all over the bushes were tons and tons of large and colorful spiders. They scared me and I ran back towards the house, but Jesus had already started to go outside as well. When I reached Him I buried my face in his arm and hugged him tight. And He asked me, "What are you afraid of"? I didn't say a word, just stayed the way I was. So He said, "Come, lets go and see"! I just looked up and quickly, frightfully shook my head no and tried to keep from walking forward. But He slowly, gently took me in the direction I had come from in such terror. But my head remained buried and my grip, tight. When we reached the spot we stopped. And Jesus, seeing the spiders said, "Ahh, so that's what you're so afraid of". And Jesus with His hand on my face, He gently made me look at Him and said to me, "Jodi, if you can look at those spiders and smile, you can look at anything and smile". And my fear seemed to slowly melt away. Then I woke up.
Satan puts fear in us, but Jesus makes the fear go away. To this day, I can't say that I especially like spiders but they do scare me less than they used to. And now, instead of squishing each one I find, I take them outside when I have opportunity to.
God had to teach me about His discipline because of the correction I received growing up. Discipline wasn't an act of love and it was often given in anger. Over the course of time, God gave me 3 discipline dreams and each one was unique, but the last one completed what God was teaching me. And since then, I look at God's correction completely different. It taught me that God's discipline is undesired, but it ultimately gives us peace and joy.
There are a lot of ideas about what Jesus is like that are not true. The enemy doesn't want people to know what Jesus is really like, because maybe more people would come to the cross and receive forgiveness. Knowing what Jesus is truly like is so important because then we can recognize what is not Jesus. I've had a number of Jesus dreams over the years and two of them were not of God. In fact, those dreams made me angry. In the one, I knew it wasn't the real Jesus because of the way He treated me. Jesus always delights to spend time with me, but that time he didn't. Jesus always makes room for me, but that time He didn't. And the words he spoke, I think it sounded like something a Hindu or Buddhist would say. Even the tone of his voice and the way he walked was a red flag. When we know and understand what the Word of God teaches, the enemy can't lead us astray. A third dream I received from the enemy happened during a time I was sharing with a catholic. I rejected that dream as well.
I've been seeking the Lord for answers the past couple days and doing a lot of reflection. And I am really excited about what God is showing me. The enemy was attempting to destroy my faith, but God has continued to encourage me and comfort me. I'm planning to make a detailed comment soon.

I discovered on Saturday that I'm pregnant again, but late Saturday my pregnancy started to fail. This is now the 4th confirmed pregnancy in a row that failed.
I stopped consuming caffeine because it affects magnesium levels and when my August pregnancy failed, I got discouraged and went back to drinking regular coffee. Sunday, when I got up, my middle finger started twitching and one of my toes as well. I think another spot had twitching too but I don't remember where. It didn't stop until 3-4pm on Sunday. That's never happened before! It's a sign my magnesium levels are worse now which is puzzling. But, out of the 4, my August pregnancy lasted the longest. So I'm going back to no caffeine. And it makes me wonder if I had kept doing no caffeine, would this pregnancy have survived? I'm not going to dwell on that, but instead focus on my next pregnancy, assuming that the Lord will grant another.
Physically speaking, the past couple of days have been rough. I've been really tired. The whole weekend was such a mix of highs and lows. I'm starting to catch up on videos I haven't watched yet. Please pray for God to put a hedge of protection around myself and family. Spiritual warfare is through the roof!

Amen. I ask God for help every single day with the anger I feel at everything that is taking place in the world. While I know it is prophecy fulfilling, I still can't shake the feelings of anger. The only thing that comforts me is knowing that God is going to deal with it all in the end.
LBEmpress. I understand the anger but we can’t have this End Time scenario to fulfil prophecy without evil people doing evil things. Are we equally angry about the wicked ones who beat up and crucified our Lord? If that hadn’t happened where would we be now? It is all the work of the Enemy and at present he is working overtime to try to take as many with him cos he knows time is short. In the face of such wickedness our Lord is the Overcomer of all things.Look at Him and not the perpetrators of evil. He foretold it all. Praise the beautiful Name and person of Yeshua, King of Glory for ever more.

I’d love to hear JD’s opinion on the show The Chosen, I have been feeling quite convicted watching it because of they way they portray certain things & in the creator of the show and the man that plays Jesus are into a lot of false teachings & some episodes where Jesus is practicing his sermon on the mount seems kind of messed up. If anyone else has an opinion please let me know!
I have not watched the show but I have problems with other movies that don't stick to the Biblical writings. If you have a conviction don't watch it. It's the Holy Spirit giving you that feeling. Blessings

I stopped watching the show because of the inconsistencies of what they’re showing. That scene of practicing the sermon just ticked me off. Jesus IS the Word. And how they wanted to attract diversity of all religions (LDS, RCC to name a few) I guess to accumulate more funds just stopped me. After their visit at Rome, it is clear that they’re promoting One World Religion.

I watched 'The Chosen' JESUS, YAHSHUA is much better portrayed in there...3rd episode is with children...really well done.

My cat went missing last weekend. I had been wondering how he would cope when I went in the Rapture (I am his special person). Perhaps the Lord has allowed this to happen so he is gone before I go.
Praying for the safe return of your cat. I talk to my cat about Jesus often and always tell him that he is a child of God. I am convinced that our pets will be in Heaven with us.

Yes I liked Bruce Marciano as Jesus. I liked him in the roll as Jesus instead diner. That was a great flick too.
The depiction of Jesus in The Chosen is on point 👍 very loving and gentle but there's a subtle strength about him.
Also: the first few scenes he's in are with children :)
The show is mostly Biblical - they took a little bit of artistic license only to fill in blanks between Biblical events, for character development and such.

Then Pastor JD, you need to watch The Chosen. Jesus is presented as a Middle Eastern man. His father immigrated from Egypt. All the people playing the parts of the apostles are middle eastern background. Simon is played by an Israeli actor. You would love it.
While watching "The chosen" series I had to say bye bye to my usual Jesus actor appearance - most films show an european Jesus (catholic compliant) and that is of course not the case... and I am glad he wasn't an example of "Absalom" - because such appearance is dangerous to fall for the devils lies ! (if you don't believe it- look at Adam and Eve and all the God sons which took all the daughters of men, which were beautyfull )

I believe The Chosen is worth your time watching. The director, with the writing team, wanted the viewers to relate to the characters. The Hollywood producers made the actors play the characters as walking statues. Their emotions are never engaged. But this independent production has real and talented actors who make the disciples live, breathe, and express emotions.
Just as the Season 1/Episode 1 begins, there is a disclaimer that is upfront in telling the viewer that it's not word-for-word Scripture. But it's telling the stories from the 4 Gospels. You can call it "historical fiction" based on the truth.
Here's an example. One of my favorite historical movies is called "Amazing Grace" about the story of William Wilberforce, the man who fought slavery in England. It's historical fiction and is very well told. We even get to meet John Newton. I love historical fiction. It makes these people come to life and more memorable.
So, yes, I recommend The Chosen. Is the production team perfect? No. I don't agree with the director going with the actor who plays Jesus to meet the pope. But the director's goal is to promote The Chosen so it will be seen all over the world. According to the app, over 200 million views have taken place. The director believes he's doing the will of God. If you could see the videos of behind the scenes, you would be amazed at how God has intervened at very difficult times of filming. I am convinced that the hand of God is all over this production.
In fact, many people are picking up and reading their Bibles more, or for the first time! They know the show doesn't replace the Scriptures. It motivates them to read.
I see this production pushing out the light of the Gospels in this time of increasing evil and darkness. I hope you give The Chosen a fair chance. I suggest you might want to watch the episode Jesus Loves the Little Children first. 😊👍

However in truth it is ourselves, our own worldly minds that do cling to those things that cause us difficulty. To actualy follow jesus is easy but your physical nature plagued by Satan does oppose you. Jesus did say something about yolks and burdens. But then there was also something about carrying your cross.
