There was apunk gig every Wednesday. I got Charlie's autograph. He wrote, "I owe Charlie Harper A beer." With a circle around the A. I guess I still owe him it. I last saw them a few months ago. Great band!

Uk Subs have been cruelly written out of punk history why? because by 1979 sections of the music press in the uk were saying punk was dead. People have to remember the Uk Subs were one of the premier punk bands who were commercially successful from 1979 to 1981 in Britain.

What I could never understand is that in this song and many others, Charlie writes so lucidly about drugs and drug use ("rooms splashed with blood, needles dipped in mud" - I mean, brilliant!) yet he claims to have never taken or been in to drugs!!!!? One of life's many mysteries I guess!
You see things around you, and you write about it, I'm assuming. Most writers write best what they know. or the genres they know. But when it comes from real life, it's a lot better and more authentic.
