A true rarity. Not a Clarkson fan.
But this performance is so profoundly sincere, so intensely emotional, so truly confessional that it is transcendent. You can't fake that. Shows how shallow most pop music is.
By way of example, Pink's Give Me a Reason to Believe is a "big" song, expertly crafted, beautifully sung and produced by the top professionals but is positively blown away by this "little" number.
I probably listen to 1,000 songs a year. Maybe goes to the top of my list along with Fiona Apple's studio cover of Whole of the Moon.
Put this song on a loup for an hour to soak in all the power. Extraordinary.
Kelly always comes off as authentic in whatever she sings she just has that gift, but here ESPECIALLY you can just feel the pure raw emotion. It's a shame she went on to more bubblegum pop after this album because this space she's in here no other artist can touch.

This whole album was very underrated .. It IS her best in my opinion. She was finally doing the songs wanted to on this one. And at the time could heavily relate to the songs on this album. ❤🎯

It's a testement to how insanely talanted she is that she has the longevity she does despite having a boring label/manegment strategy
