MLB 16: The Show is a Major League Baseball video game developed and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the eleventh entry of the MLB: The Show franchise. It was released on March 29, 2016, for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. - Ігри
It really blows my mind just how much better this game looks this year. PBR makes a huge difference and just makes everything pop.

MLB 15 looks way better.
One thing I wish they would incorporate better into MLB (and all sports games) is the announcers talking about things going on around the league during the game. I'd love to have updates from out of town games, pennant races and player injuries and milestones. A proper post game SportsCenter would be awesome too, not only talking about and showing highlights from my game, but others happening or wrapped up in Franchise mode. True broadcast immersion. Great review by the way.
I hope this means you will be doing tutorials again this year for hitting or maybe base running and fielding. you do great.. keep it up

Unfortunately, MLB the Show still has unrealistic pitching motion. It's slow when comparing real life pitchers to their digital counterparts. Observe pitcher's follow through from their leg kicks, arm motion to the pitcher's upper torso and body rotation. Pitching is suppose to be a beautiful violent physical action, and The Show has been missing the mark since day one.
This is one major thing that I would like to see the Show completely revamp to bring increased realism to the game. Have a look at the japanese video baseball game, Professional Baseball Spirits, to enjoy a more refined and more realistic pitching motion. Player models also needs to be revamped along with the removal of any awkward infielder/outfielder throwing motions.
MLB the Show is still a magnificent game, but in order to take it to new heights, the above points must be addressed considering they are part gameplay.

Great review man. I'm thinking of whether to get it but I'm not sure. It'll be my first baseball game. Does it have a steep learning curve?
When i first got mlb 14 I was stumped, after a week or so I really caught on, but even in that first week it's plenty fun, you should definitely get it

I don't think I've made a single throwing error since launch, plenty of missed grounders, but it's baseball, that does happen more regularly. I've found the errors to be more realistic, the throwing meter more based on feel than pressing a button.
Offline I would agree that I hit too many home runs to feel completely authentic but its not like hitting a few too many bombs takes away from the enjoyment of the games improved input based outcomes.
My one major gripe is with the online gameplay which seems to always hinge on the servers and your connections with the other player. Lost a DD game yesterday before the first pitch was even thrown because the game froze during the player warmup animations.

How come in franchise mode when you make lineups after a few games they go back to the default lineups
How do you make showtime catches in the outfield? Ive been playing for a week and i havnt gotten a single one and im positive that the showtime opputurnities are on. It pisses me off

Are there a lot of baseball records to break and have a bit of fun with? With the last game I played, MLB The Show 2014, there weren't. I like a lot of stats and things of that nature, so breaking records his fun for me. Any help would be appreciated! :D

I'm so jealous, I only own the PS3 version of the game (I can't afford a PS4 right now). So I am missing out on the commentary improvement, the radio show, the graphic improvements & added animations. But, honestly, they're not deal breakers for me. Right now it's fine, though I do look forward tot he day I own a PS4 and can finally play this amazing game on the best system :)

+FratNightGaming *Informative, one of the things that annoyed me most about last year's title was the user feedback and just the lack of responsiveness. I hate locating pitches and it not going where I located them. I'm an MVP baseball guy, I know it's unrealistic but damn it's just SO satisfying. That and the hitting feedback to time a hit perfectly or to hit a pitch where it's located and to end up popping it up or ending up with a ground ball. Frustrating. But now with this title it sounds like being patient at the plate will be more rewarding. I hope they fixed the end pitch trajectory pitch meter. Because it hardly ever went where I pointed it. I just went with classic and hoped.* *Lol.*

Omg I know it's late but I'm just getting a PS4 and saving up to buy to buy a copy of MLB RTTS17!!! I'm so excited!!!
I always turn in-fielding errors and out-fielding errors all the way down... otherwise there are way to many errors on simple easy play's ... I also turn out-fielding and in-fielding throwing errors all the way down.... Game play's great then ... I"ve been doing that since I stared playing the show years ago .... They've never really fixed that issue, but thankfully sliders are available, otherwise the game would be ruined from stupid little errors all the time...
only thing that I wish it had is anti aliasing , those base lines are so jaggity .

Despite its low popularity it is great and is the best sports game so if u feel like doing it again eventually it's great. If you don't have money the PS3 version or MLB 15 the show are also good.

Why I'm I still hearing " the player or this guy had a great game" when Ramone Russell promised we wouldn't.
Or why does have decent pitcher automatically get " he's tough, well because he's got 5 pitches" recycled by Karros? Pfff just a pretty roster update.
Still love it! Also player faces look worse this year. Everything else looks great.
I did not like 2015 , The unrealistic amount of forced errors and unrealistic forced comebacks were too frequent and it fielding was awful. Ive bought it day one every year since 09 but 15 has me gun shy this year.

I adore this game, playball boys
This game is amazing plain and simple. If you like baseball even a little every year The Show games are must buys.
My only real issues with this game is that some of the animation is pretty poor (players hugging looks horrible for example), the random number generator and the insane glitchy catches that I sometimes see.
An example of the random number generator was getting 4 broken bats in a row for 4 swings. The odds of that happening in real life is less likely than you winning the lottery every month for 4 months...
If your random number generator can generate the same value 4 times in a row you need to re-design it. This fault can also be seen in the way foul balls happen as well as pitches. I have seen 3 pitches in the exact same location in the strike zone in a row.
None of these things are deal breakers for me but I can tell you it's infuriating when I foul into the stands and on the descent the ball just makes a beeline for the fielder's glove away from the normal trajectory as though the game decided it made a mistake and now needs to get you out.
I should add that despite the shortcomings, I still love and play this game.

The worst game I've ever played, how can people continue to purchase this shambolic piece of garbage they call a game. Consistent good swings being fouled off or even swung and missed on, 70 overalls who barely even play in real life hitting Homer's and dominating in the field like they are a legend. The horrific player faces that make you question if SDS even try (Lindor, Story, Trumbo for some of the most shocking) And the legends player faces which make you think if they even know who they are. Pitching being way to easy every single game no matter which pitcher you use and hitting being impossible cuz you whiff on good swings or if you are lucky to make contact its a "major league pop up" or a "dribbler in front of the mound" you are honestly lucky to reach a massive 3 hits on a good hitting day on Hall Of Fame or Legendary difficulty. The laughable animations like the missed flyball and diving effort in the outfield honestly lead me to believe that it was developed in a good couple of minutes. To sum it up if you truly love the great sport of baseball DO NOT waste your money on this garbage cuz it's no where near even being comparable to WII sports baseball. PLEASE MLB 2K COMEBACK!!!
I know this comment is old but everyone says MLB 16 The Show is the best show game ever made (maybe not best baseball game because... MVP 2005), and I think so too.
I feel that Showtime wasn't really necessary.
If simulation baseball is what you want, save your $. The Show 16 is rife with bizarre hitting mechanics and inconsistent fielding controls. "Solid Contact" is determined by an imaginary zone called "PCI", which gets smaller with each league progression (RTTS). It's a fundamentally cheese way that the developers used to increase perceived difficulty. So instead of making the players in AAA or MLB better, they make the game of baseball harder. This creates horrendous slumps in RTTS remedied only by stat buffing. The same mechanics apply to career and Diamond Dynasty modes. After hundreds of online games and a multitude of RTTS campaigns, I've officially retired my copy of The Show 16 to the burn pile.

I'm debating whether to buy or not. Either this or NBA. Obviously being Irish and not really versed in baseball or basketball, I get my arse handed to me online.So purely for single player enjoyment,seasons etc, i presume you would recommend NBA?

+GTOAviator I've had fifa every year since day one. That's day one 1994, on mega drive. Dabbled with Madden but seasons are boring and get hammered online. Had one baseball game years ago and loved it. Before psn you had to get them shipped here yourself if you wanted one. Might take a chance. It's 20 euro on PSN

+cjs0071 Is that bad if it runs on the same engine? Not to mention there is no such thing as a single engine that runs the entire game. There are tons of engines used for different facets of the game. Perhaps you dislike one engine in particular?

why madden can't be so beautiful ......lazy ea..... i see improvements in madden 17 but jeez still looks like a steamy pile of garbage compared to mlb the show.....madden18 must have frostbite engine next year.....
Give me a break! This felt very "schill" but this one really lost me at the commentary review. Blurring the distinction of reality? It's the same awful commentary for the past 5 years. Laughable.
I REALLY wish they had the licensing rights to minor leaguers. I hate the fake prospects. I'll just have to wait for operation sports roster.
