I played this game so much. First baseball game I played that let you edit teams and create players. You can also create legend players by using their name in the create a player mode, kinda like a cheat code. I had a team with Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and Cy Young. The game had a lot of cool little touches, like if you broke the 61 hr record you got a special celebration.
Played the heck out of this back in the day. Seems to me there was a second version of this game "Gold Edition" as that was the one I played. Ah the days before I have PSone. Thanks for sharing this one too.
I first played this game on the Sega Channel through my cable provider. As soon as the Gold Edition came out, I went Electronic’s Boutique to pick it up. This and World Series were favorite Baseball games on the Genesis. I enjoyed the later versions on PC and PS1 until the 2002 version came out.
I beat the brakes off of this game/series. And no, it was not hard to hit home runs. I used Cecil Fielder to break the all-time HR record. I'll never forget calling a paid game-tip hotline AND EA Sports to try to determine if it was possible to hit the ball over the Green Monster in Fenway. I have concluded that 'no'...sadly, you cannot hit the ball over the Green Monster. If you can prove to me otherwise, you are my new childhood hero.
Never liked this game. It was very hard to hit home runs. Game play was a bit slow. I actually use to use otis Nixon and Id bunt for a single and steal 2nd, 3rd and home everytime

NBA Live 96 also did this (creating legends) and with rookies also
Could you take steroids and hit more?
No that was added in the later EA games...in the early-mid 2000s. 1 game even gave the gamer the option of do u want to play with or without PEDS.
@@Paul-wu7xd Nah it was definitely this game. I remember it clearly, even the team name. I never even played the 2000s Triple Play games.
@@Paul-wu7xd i mean triple play 98 did have super players on the devil rays and diamondbacks😊
Still the only baseball game I've ever enjoyed enough to play multiple seasons in

I used to love this game
I played this a LOT
Imagine being the guy who did the spit in the glove sounds lmao
I remember renting and liking this game. Seemed pretty good for the time
This was a fun game back in day. I recall you could unlock some of the all-time greats also
This was a good MLB game
One of my favourite baseball game for the Sega Genesis loved it
This was that game when I was young. I had so much fun playing this, brings back so many memories.... A classic
My favorite baseball game was hardball 3
That was in the Gold Edition.
Idk why but I remember the batting camera being much closer and you could position your hitters stance inside and out?
There is you just need to change to the "zoom" option batter perspective.
you can swap between the two on this one too
Yeah I used to play with the camera a lot closer too. It looks so weird having it be so far zoomed out.
