Thanks, everyone for watching and the kind comments. @PluginGuru has published an official Unified Epic Choir library that you can download here: bit.ly/Unified_Originals_EpicChoir Enjoy!
I forgot to mention this... For $29 one would be crazy to pass this up and yes, one could get by with just this choir library for most of their compositions.
The moment I saw the announcement, I immediately thought "I NEED to see what Simeon can do with this" :) You've become my favourite at showcasing sample libraries! Maybe I'm just a sucker for choirs but this may be the most promising originals library yet... and it's a whole new recording! There exist plenty of formidable choir sample libraries out there, this one obviously will not stack to much bigger and deeper ones of course, but something on this level of quality and versatility at this price range... I think it's unprecedent.
Such a wonderful library and affordable!! I bought this when it was released and have a playdate with it this weekend 😁 Thank you for your beautiful journey through this library!
Great video. Saw this drop the other day. Spitfire's own walkthrough was OK, but you expanded on it beautifully. Incredible plugin once again from the Originals series.
Fantastic video as always. Where else can you get a thorough review AND stunning music at the same time? And have you lost weight, Simeon?? Looking fantastic, sir.
Richard, why yes, I have been working on improving my health working on counting those calories 🤓 It is not easy but I have the online program Good Measure that gives me a personal dietician/coach who has been very helpful. I am so grateful for your kind support and encouragement p, it is such a blessing. Now where are those brownies????😂😂😂😂😂 Joyfully!🎹

Just bought it. I can barely play, but I`m going up that learning curve in the hope of producing something a fraction as good as yours. Stunning playing, clear and concise review. Truly Inspiring. Thank you.
Welcome to the curve 🤓 We are all on it at some point and it is an amazing and sometimes frustrating journey, but it is oh so worth it when you start to hear things out loud that you had only previously heard inside the orchestra inside your head. Thanks so much for watching. More joyful journeys ahead.
Sounds great and your demo is superb as usual. I saw someone write in a comment that if you want appear to randomise the shorts when programming, write some notes in with zero velocity so it cycles onto the next sample.
That is a good tip. I also like that Spitfire gave an option to use key switches as well to select them. Now what would be cool is to set up some type of arpegiator that could restrict itself to that keyswitch range and set it to randomize???? Now the wheels are turning 😎 Thanks so much for watching and the kind support. Joyfully!🎹
I wish I had just an ounce of your talent... Got som Vangelis vibes when you played with the layered instruments at the end. Great video as always. Thanks to your videos I have recently bought several Originals instruments. Spitfire should give you some bonus for great advertisement :)

Unify, that I found through your amazing work is truly inspiring. Spitfire is changing the way I’m now working as a guitar based composer and the ambient, ethereal things that are coming out are a far cry from anything I’ve ever recorded before as I begin to bring it all together. That special sauce, spitfire adds to all their libraries is one plug in I’d truly love to have, as a go to, so as to match their sampled sounds, adding it to my own creations. There we go an Originals - Epic Sauce across your entire mix and until then, I’m working toward that, with lots of help from Universal Audio, Izotope, good mics, a new D28, which just sings and, a few valves in between, etc, whilst practicing my piano chords, as creative juices flow. You’re a beautiful soul and player Simeon and every time you go ‘Ohhhh ya’ I’m usually going ‘ohhh yeah’ too, at this end, as you add these patches together. Even though my fingers won’t match your skill set, these tools are becoming ever more like the sounds I can almost hear in head so as you say, just keep on goin’ 👍❤️🙏
Super-helpful video, Simeon! You convinced me to buy the Epic Choirs library, and I'll almost certainly get Unify! (I'll get it eventually, am just putting it off for now until I master some of the basics of what I've already got :D)
So glad you enjoyed watching. Unify is indeed a great tool, watching John’s Saturday Unify livestreams is like a clinic in patch programming and sound design. Your last comment is something that is inevitable for all of us. There is such a diverse amount of sounds and tools that it is hard to keep up with. There are times where I pick a library and try and use it by itself on an arrangement to help impose limitations that force you to dive in to discover the capabilities. Don’t sell yourself short. I think that each musician will bring part of themselves to each library. It is discovering what speaks uniquely to you and how you can use each instrument to help realize your ideas. Thanks so much for watching. Joyfully!🎹
Hi Simeon. What a fantastic video! Thoroughly enjoyed this. I have just purcased the Epic Choir and like you say, for £29.00 (I am in the UK) it is worth every penny! Thanks.

Wow, at times your playing reminded me of one of those György Ligeti choral works from '2001: A Space Odyssey'. (That's a fabulous library for $29, btw!)
All well and good. Thank you. But how about some practical info on how to use this library? For example, how do I switch instruments (Tenor Short vs Soprano long, like that) using MIDI/Keyswitches/whatever? Thanks!
William, with the ORIGINALS series, key switches are not normally provided, as they are more focused libraries. With Epic Choir there are only ensembles, Female (Soprano and Alto), and Male (Tenor and Basses). I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Aha! Epic Choir does feature keyswitches for the syllables preset, this way you can use the keyswitch to trigger the different syllables instead of them just being random. Here is where I feature that in the video: ua-cam.com/video/vn1BdmeNRu0/v-deo.htmlsi=bb8wBAf2lV9Esmgi&t=471
I think this is different from Eric Whitaker because of the different approaches and the size of the ensemble. It is definitely a great compliment to the other Spitfire libraries recorded at AIR and a great value. Thanks so much for watching. Joyfully!🎹

hello teacher, one question, between synchron vienna choirs and this one from spitfire, which one do you like more? which one sounds better? I'm looking for a good library of choirs to do lord of the rings type composition.
So, for me the Spitfire Choir is one that can get you up and running fairly quickly and comes in a more manageable price point. I can get it to work outside of unify perfectly hosting the Originals VST2 directly within a DAW, but the moment I place it into Unify it just keeps repeating the same sample - very frustrating!!! Hopefully either Spitfire or Pluginguru will come up with a fix soon.
Its a great sound, but short in range. High Ab isn't high enough, as evidenced at 2:15 and 5:40, where it didn't play the high As and Bbs. It ruins it for me sadly - unless there is a way to increase the range (altos don't need a low Eb after all...) The same is true for the Tenor/Bass patch which also stops at Ab (eg around 8:43)
Yes, I feel that I run out of range a lot ;^) There might be a hack or workaround, possibly inside of UNIFY that might allow the extension of the actual range. Stay tuned!
It doesn’t need Kontakt as it runs as a standalone VST/AU using Spitfire’s own GUI. The same as all of Spitfires free Labs virtual instruments. You have to use Spitfire’s separate standalone installer/ library manager app to download and install.
Dresden, the Spitfire Player does not have a standalone version, but it is a VST plugin that you can use inside of Cakewalk as I was doing during the livestream.
Stay tuned!
I apologize in advance for being a nOOb but does this work in/with Kontakt? Thank you in advance to whomever responds.
It doesn’t need Kontakt as it runs as a standalone VST/AU using Spitfire’s own GUI. The same as all of Spitfires free Labs virtual instruments. You have to use Spitfire’s separate standalone installer/ library manager app to download and install.
Thanks Seafox.
@@Seafox0011 Ok. So this will work as a standalone plugin in my DAW (Cakewalk) and I can use my NI M32 Midi Controller?
Dresden, the Spitfire Player does not have a standalone version, but it is a VST plugin that you can use inside of Cakewalk as I was doing during the livestream. Thanks for watching and please always feel free to ask questions, I love to help when I can, and we also have a fantastic group here that is also very helpful. Joyfully!🎹
