I pre ordered ages ago and paid in full then, they could see the demand months out and could have adjusted for the preorder but obviously wanted to sell out to drive demand. TLDR: Wossy is covering hard for Ravensburger's mismanagement for some reason. Although the confirmation is good and most of us expected it, it is very revealing how badly Ravensburger has managed Lorcana so far. Most of us expect Lorcana to have a lot of supply - eventually - fully depending on Ravensburger's management/mismanagement. We expected a ton of supply to meet a lot of demand when the game was announced and D23 promos were handed out... everyone in the TCG/CCG world knew there would be a ton of demand, except Wossy and Ravensburger I guess. Their communication, initial printing and distribution has been a joke, and they knew it. Wossy is definitely giving Ravensburger a huge pass on their issues. Yes, we don't know the deal between them and Disney, but I highly doubt it was "don't print & sell too much". Ravensburger's poor communication, lack of information on their website, and lack of official rulings really makes most of us believe that printing & distribution is their shortcoming, similar to the many other issues. Ravensburger let everyone get crazy before announcing something they should have already known and had planned and ready for public release... another print run or two. The poor communication is right up there with official rulings only being on Lorcana Twitter/X. Demand was very strong ever since Disney Expo, and it is Disney... if you knew you would short print 1st, why not announce that you will have a 2nd print? Stores had their allocations cut by 90%+, how could Ravensburger not know there was demand when they can't even meet LGS orders that have been there for 6+ months??? It is just too logical from a business finance person like Wossy and I, so I don't know why Wossy is playing dumb. I feel bad for Ravensburger as they are just in way over their heads and haven't shown any ability to do better. It is totally fair to call out a company that just doesn't have the knowledge or intellect to figure things out. Even giving them the benefit of the doubt and saying that they were just not allowed to print very much by their printing partners... much of their poor communication is the source of confusion around Lorcana - availability, print run, distribution, rules, organized play, etc.
Ravensburger would be stupid NOT to reprint the first few sets when the hype is big. Usually the hype ends after Set 4 and only players who like the game stay and demand is sinking
One thing the current market has me doing is selling whatever cards I do end up getting my hands on. With $20-40 non-foil legendary cards showing up fairly often, I'm selling competitive cards more than buying. I love to compete and I love to win, but as a Pokemon deck builder, I'm not a fan of how expensive singles are right now. I'll stick to starter decks with a few upgrades until we get into a more normal market this fall.
The thing with these launch day/window shortages is is for me personally it tests my resolve to want to get into the game at all. I thought One Piece looked cool, but was unavailable and cards were too expensive. I decided to just skip it and keep looking. Then Lorcana came around and I thought it would be a good fit. Now after launch window I'm thinking of just not getting into it because we have SWU coming up. I have some faith in FFG and an edge since I live where they are based. I just want to be able to get some starter decks and maybe a few packs, not looking to clear out the county. Oddly enough though, I did just buy the ST8 and 9 starters for One Piece, so you never know I guess.
I generally agree with you on these points when card games launch but I feel that this one is a bit different. There was a less than 1% chance that this game did not have massive sales at release. And that was obvious just from the hype around the game. They could’ve easily printed more and sold it all. Now we are at a point where you have super frustrated players because they can’t find any product at retail and singles are super expensive. Frustrate a game stores because they barely got any product. And a launch weekend that has been full of people arguing and being disappointed, instead of enjoying the game
Agreed, Wossy was a Finance teacher, but I am not sure why he is missing the main points. One Piece is not Disney... not even close. Conservatively, Disney is the #2 brand behind Pokémon and he is trying to tell us that Ravensburger was blind to Pokémon TCG market and what happened during the pandemic? It just seems off for him. I think he is just trying to be a devil's advocate and say something totally off from what most people have witnessed.
They were taking money for preorders, they knew exactly how much demand there was and they didn't print anywhere close to enough. They could have pushed back Second Chapter and just kept printing First, that would have fixed literally all their problems. Now they are just going to get worse.
That's always the case for most new tcg. Hype overhypes hype. I honestly am ready for the majority to quit lorcana so we can have a competitive small crowd like OP and BSS.
I bet the actual amount printed between Lorcana and One Piece is dramatic and the actual demand much higher for Lorcana. I disagree that Lorcana didn't know what the demand was going to be. They couldn't print enough because they don't have enough printing capacity to match demand and there is no way they are going to. And doing so right off the bat is the only way to not have a price discrepancy between retail and secondary market prices. Now they are going to print Second Chapter in November and the First Chapter reprint in January, but they have to already be printing Third Chapter to Release in February. And so now Second Chapter is going to be even worse and harder to find than First Chapter, fueling the speculators. There is no way the reprint is going to be enough still. They could have just kept printing the First Chapter until demand was met even wave by wave and then printed Second Chapter, but because they didn't do that this is guaranteed to continue to be a problem all the way through. First editions aren't going to get rid of speculators at all. First Chapter will always be the one in demand and Second Chapter is probably the best investment because it will be less produced because they are going to be trying to fix the lack of First Chapter printing. Maybe you're prediction about the future comes true, I'm much more convinced that my own view is correct. We'll see who's right.
Ravenburgers should reprint Lorcana two more times to make these scalpers lose money..LOL .I don't have a problem with people buying several boxes, but I have a problem with people cleaning shelves to quick flip.
How are people who quick flipped the product right away going to lose money to a reprint that happens months from now? They're already out and have their money.
Comparing One Piece to Lorcana is not a super great comparison. My local store cannot get enough people to play One Piece, Loracana is bought as soon as its received and limited per person.
It seems like almost the opposite with my local game store. One Piece sold out instantly when it first released, but Lorcana stayed in stock for a good while. They are even running a draft this weekend for Lorcana.
So, NO more cards are going to be restocked until October? WTF!! They need to admit they F* up and ship out more cards immediately. My local Walmart only got 5 boxes of cards. They were gone within 1 hour. That is unacceptable. (Walmart should have limited purchases to 2 to control stock some) Same with other stores.
And October is the optimistic version. Because October is when the LGS are getting the reprints - you know the ones that made the product unavailable for the 2 weeks before the launch date. The actual restock to retailers is scheduled 4 to 6 months from now
"did anyone acually think that this is the end of first chapter"?.... Yes .. yes I did. If you know disney you would then know they are all about being masters of Supply and Demand on Merch. MASTERS.
That was a stupid assumption. They want it to succeed and it couldn't possibly succeed if their target audience never got any of the products because it was so short printed and flippers cleared out all of the stores.
I mean, if Disney wants this game to have a chance of making it past 2 years, they better make it cheap to get enough people interested in such a game, because at this point, if it can't get enough people to play this game competitively, it's gonna go the way of other failed tcg's as you can't have a thriving tcg without a competitive scene and more importantly, major competitions.
@@OggiOggiOggi can you learn how to spell pathetic properly,I don't know what a phatetic, got my 2 booster boxes right out the mj holdings box at Walmart 👌

How could speculators ruin the game? Reprinting allows everyone to play the game even if you mark the reprinting as it is... A TGC doesn't survive only with players... so this game will die after a few months the first chapter reprint
It's so lame they are reprinting. Ruins it for me. I'd rather have ch. 1 be rare. Just move on to chapter 2. I hope the reprints are differentiated from original print somehow. Like a reprint stamp on them or something. This sucks
Oh no, the game meant for children is ruined for the 40-year-old because he was too stupid to realize that they were going to massively print it so their intended audience could actually get some of it to play. If you're crying about the October reprint you should probably check yourself into a mental facility before they announce the novelty product reprint they're going to do for the Christmas season.

Wossy Droppin Facts!!!
How about the fear of 1st wave has a higher hit then later waves.
That's always the case for most new tcg. Hype overhypes hype.
I honestly am ready for the majority to quit lorcana so we can have a competitive small crowd like OP and BSS.
Are the reprints gonna be different then the 1st prints?
Had a big section about this in the video where I explained in detail :)
Nope.Are you a scalper?
Friggin taking 9 months for that to happen is insane.
I've dropped legendary foil elsa, someone think that the price will increase in some years ?
It depends on how badly the card was damaged when you dropped it.
@@JohnDoe-ld8nr i dropped it normally near mint and she is with sleeve and toploader
@@musicdemo3035toploader will prevent 99.99 damages don't worry lol
Anyone else hear the reprints will be labeled as EN-2 instead of EN-1? Seems like a silly minor change is it really necessary?🤷
The reprintings will just be bought out super fast too. Its sad. I feel priced out of the game already.
One peice are way way about demand then lorcana.
The actual restock to retailers is scheduled 4 to 6 months from now
No September was already planned to have more stock but now that it's success has been verified they are saying they'll make more for October as well
"did anyone acually think that this is the end of first chapter"?.... Yes .. yes I did. If you know disney you would then know they are all about being masters of Supply and Demand on Merch. MASTERS.
I know about business and card games. As I explained. And I was right :)
That was a stupid assumption. They want it to succeed and it couldn't possibly succeed if their target audience never got any of the products because it was so short printed and flippers cleared out all of the stores.
I mean, if Disney wants this game to have a chance of making it past 2 years, they better make it cheap to get enough people interested in such a game, because at this point, if it can't get enough people to play this game competitively, it's gonna go the way of other failed tcg's as you can't have a thriving tcg without a competitive scene and more importantly, major competitions.
getting me some lorcana this weekend
3 stores nothing but my buddy got 7 packs so I was happy for him
Got 48 packs myself and ten staters nothing much
Wossy - to me this is corporate damage control. Everything they said here we already knew.
Willl the reprints be a reprint or a continuation of printing the first set, will you be able to tell the difference??
Can you be more phatetic?
@@OggiOggiOggi can you learn how to spell pathetic properly,I don't know what a phatetic, got my 2 booster boxes right out the mj holdings box at Walmart 👌
reprints are not frist edition. thats that problem
Will the cards have something to show that they are reprints?! Is this confirmed yet?!
Source?
You either "want to play the game" or want to invest, if you missed the first print that's on you I'm afraid...
If there is no visible difference, the reprints ARE just more first edition.
If they print is exactly the same, then they effectively are still first edition.
It shouldn't really matter when you buy the cards. If you only got into collecting for the money value then you are hurting market.
One piece set 1 is STILL expensive wtf he talking about
It is not nearly expensive as when it first released what crack are you smoking my guy?? OP1 is cheaper than when I bought a box last December.
@HardcoreLARPer while you are right the other guy has a point. If he lives near where I do. A box still retails above 144. But it's because of the vendors agreeing on a price.
yep. Romance Dawn is pretty much the only set that still hasn't come down in price yet. maybe it's a U.S. thing and I need to import from another Country
@@JBryant0619 let's split cost lol
it could be reprinted but the artwork could change
Why would they do that though?
That's extra money they'd have to spend on something that only profits resellers.
Tell ‘em, Wossy!
Are they seriously stating that they released ALL of the initial print?! Not buying it. Somebody is playing games.
There's many shops I talked to saying they have confirmed their getting September deliveries so expect more stock this month on top of next month
I'd hope the box art for the next printing is different at least to keep that value on what came out today but the packs/cards are the same.
Why should it matter? It shouldn't matter.
It won't be.
Nope
How could speculators ruin the game? Reprinting allows everyone to play the game even if you mark the reprinting as it is...
A TGC doesn't survive only with players... so this game will die after a few months the first chapter reprint
I had the opportunity to buy two booster boxes at MSRP, but didn’t cuz I wanted to be ethical… dummy.
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Wossy plays man lol
I don’t care about the info his voice makes my days better so for that I thank you
lol...WTF is One Piece?
It's so lame they are reprinting. Ruins it for me. I'd rather have ch. 1 be rare. Just move on to chapter 2. I hope the reprints are differentiated from original print somehow. Like a reprint stamp on them or something. This sucks
"Waaah I am not making as much money as I thought I will by ruining the game for others"
Dude, everyone knows you're a scalper.
@@squirmyandgrubsareafakecou9102 you're fckn wrong dude. Why can't someone have a different opinion than you? Holy shit
@@JohnDoe-ld8nr again, you're absolutely wrong. Just cause I'd like to see the cards hold value doesn't mean I don't play. There's so many ignorant people in this hobby. This coming from the ADULT who says "a game thays meant for children". Get a grip you mouth breather.
Star Wars Unlimited is much better!
bruh
Not even released yet.
Phewwwwww glad I didn't buy this trash at premium prices including One Piece. If they are reprinting, I can get at discount.
Willl the reprints be a reprint or a continuation of printing the first set, will you be able to tell the difference??
As the video explains there will be no way to tell the difference between cards that were released a few days ago and this next wave. The only specially marked cards were the cards given out at the convention.
