The one thing I’d add is try to avoid getting fragrances that are very similar to each other. It defeats the purpose and helps minimizes your collection so you can really enjoy your fragrances.
Yes! With the whole 'oud-rose-leather' genre especially it's easy to double up in really expensive, wasteful and uninspiring ways. I'm stuck between two scents at the moment, unsure of which to buy a full size of because they're so similar in 'vibe: Widian's 'London' and Fort & Manle's 'Amber Absolutely'. Delicious. Unisex and moreish. Argh!
Overall, a very decent collection!! And some great recommendations Sebastian. A few vintage smelling/barbershop frags could definitely go a long way (especially since they're disappearing from the market) and a layerable leather is essential. Egoiste might be a good pickup too. And a layerable mint like Molinard's The Basilic or Guerlain's Homme edp to add some flavour to the citruses? Never too late to discover a new fragrance path!
His collection is pretty rounded he doesn't really need more but I understand the addiction lool. I'm in the same boat I've narrowed down to 16 fragrances to complete my collection.
I purchased "une histoire d'homme irrésistible"after seing your nice review, bought it for about 27€ online after smelling it at a retailer, projection is normal, not enormous but I prefer it like this, honest longevity and more important: very good quality of composition for the price. To me the fig is really nicely blended (could be liked by people who are not into fig fragrances that much) and after the bergamot has faded a little bit it's more a spicy-woody-balsamic warm experience. I wouldn't recommend buying it blind to someone who is not used to aromatic (slightly medicinal)and spicy fragrances. I really like it ... but my husband (to my surprise because he's more into fresh fragrances) likes it too, and wears it more ;) ! I also wanted to say I understand that "by the fireplace" is a success: adding smoke to gourmand notes was THE good thing to do to please people who are more into woody fragrances than gourmand ones like me, to my taste it's less cloing than any vanilla-based, tonka-based or almond-based fragrances I've tried... I bought it for the autumn/winter season because it's just delicious (the whole M.Margiela Replica line is good value for the price ! ) :)
Yes Moustache smells very similar to Tuxedo, you can smell the better quality of Tuxedo but Moustache, at least on my skin, last longer. I haven't bought MAUBOUSSIN UNE HISTOIRE D'HOMME IRRESISTIBLE because I bought Histoire d'Eau instead, since its discontinued I prefer to secure that one, but I will eventually buy a bottle. Fantastic selection! Still need to try By the Fireplace. Thank you Sebastian!!!
Scent of the night Sauvage EDT 😂 Out on town in the rain at midnight. Getting a green piney facet from this today. My favorite guilty pleasure! How about a guilty pleasure list Sebastian?
Do yourself a service and go to a Dillard's and sample or spray on the new Elixir. I have the EDT also. I wanted to dislike Elixir so much....I LOVE IT 🙄 the salesman gave me a carded sample. It officially goes on sale Aug 20th. Long lasting and different from the others.
I find it missing the never mentioned Opium pour Homme, either the EDT or EDP. One of the best designers perfumes of all time. Keep up the good work Sebastian.
I bought Une Historie d'Homme Irresistible Mauboussin based on your video and wow !!! I love it.. I’m recommending it for others too. To top it off it’s so so cheap
You are the only guy I see that has actually made a serious dent in Bentley for men intense and there's even less than last time I saw. I have it. But hardly wear it. Sometimes I really like it but sometimes I only kinda like it. Though pasha de Cartier is lovely.
Excellent recommendations, no doubt! Besides those, in spite of some fresh fragrances already in the collection, I'd recommend to add some of the very best fresh/clean ones: Mugler Cologne, Dior Homme Cologne, and D&G Light Blue Eau Intense for Women (not the men's)
@@kennynunn541 I have Light Blue Eau Intense for Women EDP, I apply all freshies including this one both on me and on my tshirt/shirt. To me it really lasts the whole day, just as Mugler Cologne does. In fact after wearing said shirt and leaving it in the basket for washing, next day before washing it I can still easily smell the fragrance from it. So beware of nose blindness, also what your specific skin chemistry might do to the fragrance. Easy workaround for both is to also apply on clothes, and to sniff that fabric much later to realize how much it really lasts. For freshies: 5-6 sprays on you, 5-6 sprays on your shirt at least. Beware also not all fabrics work necessarily the same way with fragrances, e.g. naturals like cotton and linen vs. synthetics like polyester or nylon, or blends of any of the above.
Sebastian. Great video! Please could you do a video on how to “reduce” my fragrance collection? I’m practically drowning in the stuff! …..This is a serious suggestion for a video BTW 😀
If not by the fireplace, def get spicebomb extreme or azzaro wanted by night. Cannot go wrong with either one. Also, a true gem to add would be Naxos, a must!
@@rachelstewart3169 Absolute has a more masculine vibe, but that's only my opinion. The Intense is just not my cup of tea. Smells like brandy to me, which I'm not crazy about. (I had the Intense but gave it away to a buddy. I'm on bottle # 3 of the Absolute.) And another Amouage masterpiece that kicks Interlude Man's butt: Honour Man!
I tried Ursa couple of time in different seasons and it just comes across as challenging for me. I love almost all the notes but those dry fruits really make this fragrance not wearable and strange for me.
I like this type of video, I’m about to send my collection 😂 I would recommend jazz club! It is a beautiful scent and my signature scent for fall and winter. Dior Homme parfum is easy to find?? Please show me where I could buy it. I have been looking for it forever
Hello Sebastian, great video and recommendations. I’m 71’ next month. I'm a native San Franciscan, non-smoker, no drugs. My signature scent has NEVER, ever been reviewed by anyone on the internet. *Was launched by a well-known design house. FYI: This signature scent was a ‘castoreum & oak moss’ bomb! Would you be interested to know the name?
Only started collecting a few years now and have many of the fragrances you recommended - I luv the leather, boozy, iris and tobacco hinting towards sweet/gourmand. If I wanted to try a new direction towards a Rose (or other floral), what would be your suggestion knowing I have many of what was listed in your video.
Tom Ford Noir for violet, YSL Y for geranium, but Dreamer by Gianni Versace For Men EDT would probably be right up your alley. It contains floral notes of carnation, rose, and geranium, as well as tobacco.
@@romarioseaton168 Sebastian doesn't like Bond No 9. I think they were going around threatening content creators at some point and they ticked him off. So try really hard but you won't find him ever mentioning their name. It became a joke
Hey Sebastian! Great that you featured Mustache EDP and Pasha Parfum in this video. Until today I had the impression that they would have same vibe. Very informative! Cheers from Brazil!
I'd say Mustache EDP has a more similar vibe to Mercedes-Benz Club Black, which I think I saw in the collection though. Not sure if Sebastian might have other view on these two. (But I just searched, and could not find the Mercedes featured in Sebastian's channel, maybe he doesn't have it or hasn't smelled it?)

I've started doing this too and enjoying my fragrance journey even more now!
