I’m just blown away. What you started as a pressure washing business has now grown into saving homes and lives because that’s what you are doing when you reach out and pull people up out of the depths. Depression is a beast. Stuff piles up in your mind and in your house/yard. Thank you for helping Norman!!
Completely true and it is a vicious cycle cos the more the stuff builds up the more depressed you get, which then means you do less, so the more stuff builds up 😞 and in the UK there is so little help for people when things do get out of control, unless you can afford to pay for it to be done, which isn't cheap 😞
@@BLUEMONDAY99 exactly, I've been trying to get help for over 8 years and just keep getting passed from one place to the next, I'm one of the lucky ones as a good friend of mine worked for the mental health team (she helped put together alot of their assessment literature) and she helps me when she can and when I'm struggling.
What these peeps did is amazing and it's great to see the smiles on Norman's face 💖
When you offered to get Norman his lunch I cried. You are so compassionate, kind and generous with your time. You made it into the newspaper 🎉🎉 glad to see your Dad's better.

I felt a bit sick watching most of that clear-out, because I could feel the sadness that had caused it to get like that... but by the end even I was feeling lighter, so Norman must feel like a huge weight's been lifted and he can sit outside for some air if he wants to. This is so much bigger than a clean-up. It's life-changing. Well done, Ben and Paul and your other helpers... amazing job, because I'm sure it felt overwhelming at times... so much stuff. Nice to see your Dad getting his own back with that bottle, by the way... 😉😂

And I thought your cleansing could be compared to an archaeological excavation, first the 2000s, then you worked your way through the 1990s, 1980s and ended up in the 1960s. Good work!

Depression is insidious, the overwhelming becomes crippling and it feeds the depression which feeds being so overwhelmed that you become almost paralyzed to start. The gift you are giving is so much more than the physical work you do. The spaces you clean up give mental peacefulness, which is a gift worth more than gold. ❤

I met the Dave Dee and the crew, I worked in a chip shop and the owners knew them, they surprised me as I never believed they knew them, until one day in they all trooped “So, your Ava”? I could not speak!! I was only fourteen. They were all so lovely! 😀👍👍👍💜

It's wonderful what a few determined good people can achieve in a relatively short time. Even more wonderful how much that means to someone who has been overwhelmed by looking at it all and not knowing where to start, or how or when they'll ever manage to get through it. This is truly a blessing for a very appreciative man, I'm so pleased for him.
I can't believe the difference you have made in this fine old gentleman. When we first met Norman, he was feeble and quarrelsome and was not standing up straight. Now look at him! He is wearing bright blue and standing tall. And his place is looking better every time you guys go over there. Boy that was a lot of hard work!! And more to come, but the place is brighter and so pretty. I think that back yard will make him feel even better. I think perhaps he needs maybe a house cleaner (who understands grumpy old men lol) to come and just set it right for him so he can keep it up from then. It looks very dark in there. Love the work you and your father do Ben. That was cool that your uncle and brother came to help. Wow what a family! The little ones have great roll models to look up to.
