These drop shots from Alcaraz are so incredibly accurate and are becoming a real menace
Alcaraz. What can you say? Let’s take a moment to remind ourselves what he’s achieving out there. Aged 18. Goddamn scary.
EXACTLY! He's becoming fearless.
Alcaraz is a bloody genius
Future #1
Alcaraz played this match and whole tournament in general like he is top 3 player. Incredible performance.
He had a tough draw too. 4 of his 5 opponents were very active in the south American clay swing and were playing their third clay court tournament in a row while Berrettini is a top 10 player with known pedigree.
Schwartzman plays 5 hours and a half in one day and won two matches , he is playing really well , let's Go Diegoooo🇦🇷🏆🥇🎾
So did Carlos to be fair, he only finished Berettini off 11pm UK time and scheduled for Fabio at 2am other day
@@karelsalajka7930 exactly. So did Carlos and his last match finished later...
@@javiert.592 he played less and he's 18 years old lol
@@javiert.592 at 18 i can play 5 matches and go outside for a beer late that night

Carlos has been the most unlucky of all players from the second round onwards with match suspensions because of rain. His matches were scheduled as the latest and seemed to never end. And that's also quite tiring.
Besides, Diego is always in quite good shape and not too old (29 years old)...
@Cristian Nahuel Well you must be a superhuman then, aren't you? ;)
Anyway, that's how it is, unlucky or not...
Carlos is on a fast learning curve. He already possesses the best drop shot in the men's game, but his touch with the lobs is exquisite. He also varies the spins and speed of his shots. Turning into a complete player at such a young age. Bravo Carlito!
Best dropshot in the mens game? Relax a bit, hes not gonna shag ya
@@bodzarnpertrvick2869 top 4 best dropshot for sure...

Alcaraz... What a guy... I really wish him all the best. He will be inside the top 10 in a matter of time by the looks of it.
I love how fognini walks around like a sloth 😅
Looks like he is injured
3:14 The true highlight moment of Alcaraz-Fognini match was "The mighty walk of the proud rooster" which good old Fabio performed 😂😂😂😂
Ahahahahah
Thanks for putting words into an undescrible motion ;)
You mean, at 3:14? I noticed that. It was more like a strut. 🤣 Pre-mature one at that!
@@Birdylockso yes... 3:14
I definitely think Alcaraz is a future major champion. The only thing I feel he needs to work on is learning how to maintain a lead. There are too many of his matches where he wins the first set then loses the second, or gets a break, but gets broken right back. He needs to learn how to maintain and build on his momentum when he's in the lead if he really wants to break through to the next level.
Maybe because is still a teenager...but i agree.
He needs a serve which lets him hold his service games easily and put pressure back on his opponents. It's the final piece in the jigsaw. That's his real big weakness and will cost him against the very best rn.
Totally agree, it is just a matter of time, he will gain experience to manage difficult situations in the coming years
If you look at the other ATP matches that's the pattern in QF,SF games. I guess when Berrettini or Fognini lose the first set, they become more aggressive as they are losing anyway and this usually produces a short term spike in their performances. Its hard to beat Berrettini in straight sets and even Novak and Nadal dropped a set when playing him.
@@canchero724 At Rio open even the big servers like Berrettini struggled. Clay courts combined with humidity and wet surface due to rains have played a part. I noticed all the players opted to receive first in QF and SF matches. This does not happen often in hard courts
Damn, Carlos, what’s your problem with us? Berrettini before and now Fognini. You’re a monster 😂😭
So are the two italians.
Very nice gamestyle, specially from Fognini, and very good sportmanship from the italian nice big man, Berretini.
Greetings from Spain
alcaraz is special
Very special.
Alcaraz and Felix Auger Aliassime are two upcoming monsters. Hope they continue to improve!
Me gusta mucho el estilo de jugar este joven Carlos. Viva Espana Unida!
Fogninis original style. No one loads up like him except del potro being comparable but i shriek everytime i watch delpos forehand fognini hits with such great brisk confidence and no one really hits a high backhand as consistently clean as him and decidedly placed.
look at the speed of alcaraz🔥🔥 world no 1 in future
alcaraz and schwartzman they are extreme fighters
They sure are…
LETS GOOOO CARLOS. Alcaraz Schwartzman will be epic
If only fognini had just a little bit of consistency in his carreer... just inside of the same match he goes from godly winners to 10 unforced errors in a row... that is messed up
Ps: everyone saying berrettini is a servebot should stfu
If Fognini actually tried at tennis he would be leading Italian tennis instead of that oaf servebot BERTOLINI
Ti sbagli Flavio, ciao.

@@ismaelamaya9755 Tenemos que darle a Carlitos un año y medio más.
Fognini seems like he's more concerned about lookin stylish while hitting balls instead of playing good tennis. like if he just hassled instead of taking these slow little steps that are supposed to look classy he'd have so much more time on the ball lol.
He always played like that, he doesn't bend his knees either. Really strange TBH.
He's 34 and you've only just noticed?
Both of his calves are injured
@@Tazio_01 how long have they been injured for? Fognini has looked like this for at least few years and I always thought he was just trying to look 'effortless', is he just trying to avoid the pain?
@@maksymilianreiter3111 Since the end of the match against Carreno Busta. Go watch the rest of Fognini’s matches in Rio, he was playing at an incredible level. Unfortunately he had to play two matches in a day, had he rested before playing against Alcaraz I think we would have seen a different match.
Madre mía... carlos tiene tela marinera eh... cada día me deja más flipado. Impresionante la remontada a fognini. Grande Carlos, grande!
Ah the final is going to be soo good!
I think Alcaraz will take the trophy though
Alcaraz,,, Remember the name . This guy is becoming genius of the game 😍
Alcaraz enjoys dropshots 😂
Alcaraz had beaten berretinni like 2 hours before this
Alcaraz is such a prodigy (reminds me so much of Rafa when he debuted as a teenager) and Schwartzman is an absolute warrior for winning two tough matches in one day. It's going to be an amazing final between two very impressive players.
think his allround game and mentality will bring the game to a new level, in 2019 he beat sinner and won his first future titel at 16 years old, in the beginning of 2020 he won the first two future tournaments and by the end of the season he won 3 challenger tournaments lost one final not to mention his first atp tour win against ramos (#49) in rio, he finished the season in 138th place (he couldn't gain more points cause of covid) at 17th years old, this year for comparison at the same age nadal ended the season in 2004 on #51, novak on 2005 at #78, roger on 1999 at #64, nothing is safe in life but good lord, this guy is a real prospect
Finals are gonna be interesting, alcaraz vs schwartzman
I don't think so. Bookies have made Alcaraz the overwhelming favorite. 75% chance of winning
OMG too much potential of Alcaraz Power and talent...BEST is coming
funny how alcaraz likes faster courts but he’s made it to two ATP finals on clay 😅🤣
I mean, Rafa once said a long time ago indoor hard is his favourite court. He's won 13 grand slams on clay.
@@user-ez9ng2rw9c And indoor hard is his nemesis 😂
@@iannovak5223 Yep. Many players often seem to like courts they play the worst at (Medvedev is an exception). FAA says he loves clay but is pretty bad at it.
@@user-ez9ng2rw9c strangely enough somehow he made the final in Rio when he was 18
@@lilnickydabaddest3451 Medvedev isn't bad at clay technically. He just sucks at it mentally. He has trouble adjusting his instincts and game.
Bora pra cima, Peque! Estaremos na torcida hoje!

@@ralfygomesmoreto3128 O moleque tá jogando muito, não tiro a razão de você pensar assim.
I remember Eddie Dibbs, a short, blocky clay court player from the 1970s. Schwartzmann is about the same height, maybe a little bit lighter. He's especially tough on clay, as was Dibbs.
Alcaraz, FAA and Sinner going to be unstoppable soon
Carlos 🇪🇸💪🏽👏🏽
A Carlos Alcaraz special for y'all
Damn fognin is one of the best clay courters of the decade and was in form this tournament. Alcaraz is playing amazing.
yeah, he did beat Carena Busta in 3 sets and played very well. Fognini is 100% skill and 0% athleticism. Modern game requires a bit of both
Alcaraz has a bright future on clay. Definitely a next gen tennis player to watch, along with Sinner.
No only in clay
5+ hours for a 3 sets match? Waw, intense, should feel it in the legs for the final.
No, he played 2 matches. There was rain delays with first match
Alvarez reminds me so much of Nadal I’m so excited !!!

Alcaraz gives so powerful "Nadal vibes" that he even scares the shit out of myself hahahah. Amazing tennis, amazing mentals, amazing stamina. Really enjoyable to see.

@@truthvfauxyeshu4068 oh boy...

It will be a great match between Alcaraz and Schwartzman. I'm going for Schwartzman in 3 sets, because he has the tenacity and the mental fortitude. But, I'll still root for Alcaraz, the new kid on the block.
Fogini never wants to show too desperate to win. But check out the strut at 3:14. He gets me every time. 🤣
It looked like Fogini was a little hurt in his lower body- it looked like he was having problems running. Maybe he plays like that all the time though.
@@yakzivz1104 , he plays like that all the time. That's why people like to watch him and his "effortless" playing style. He's very unique in that way.
@@Birdylockso Oh okay that's good then- I'm glad that he wasn't injured. He does have a cool demeanor.
Its good to see fognini back being competitive
Watching Shwartzmann vs Cerundolo is like watching Raichu vs Pikachu they both have similar styles
Are you suggesting that cerundolo was evolved too early and that Diego used his agility advantage to overcome a power deficit?
No no no, DS is a conterpouncher
FCerundolo is a baseliner offensive, hit the ball hardly.
@@bonzwah1 I mean like Cerundolu and Shwartzmann have similar styles (though not completely) and Shw with his experience overcame Cerundolu
@@Agrover112 oh wow, you meant that schwartzman was raichu? then i have to disagree. cerundolo is the one with the advantage of power, and schwartzman had the advantage of agility. using evolutions to describe experience isn't really that good, since in the games, experience is a literal mechanic that is represented in levels. your comparison then would just to be to say that schwartzman is simply a higher level player than cerundolo.
Alcaraz impresionante!!!
Diego is one of the best on clay- does chase everything down! wow
Forgnini with a better footwork would be a beast.
Creo que este niño llegará a a ganar varios gran slam arriba España
Love that much Fognini's game
The only surprise in the first match is that Fognini made it to 5 games.
Most talented player i've seen since Kyrgios
Fognini throwing his racket because he feels so overwhelmed by Carlos jajaja
It would be so easy to expect an 18 year old with that much firepower to be a blind ball-basher, but it's already so obvious that Carlos has incredible strategic sense and point construction, and that he understands the (to steal a fighting game term) mix-ups available to him at any given time extraordinarily well.
Alcaraz has a big future for sure..
I think alcaraz saving his power for the final
Still we saw some glimpse of his power play in second set

Better than when the English male commentators butcher non-Anglican names.
Fognini has a narcissistic complex
On clay that mini Rafa can be dangerous already...
So sorry for Fognini. Wish him in a good health.
This clay court much faster than in RG,Monte-Carlo,Rome,Madrid
The weather in Rio is too horrible. So often raining days and many games were suspended.

Проблема Фонини, это то что он плохо сгибает колени. Но ему так больше нравится. Он смотрит на себя в записи и говорит, как я красиво двигаюсь.
It always pains me to see when extremely talented players throw away good tennis matches and thus their chance of being top notch, simply because of arrogance. On the other hand there are so many other players putting so much true effort into every match, never even getting close to the ranking those talented players are achieving… But that’s just life I guess
