A cool detail is that William also probably cares for his son. Even tho he makes us think he’s only interested in suffering and death, he still can’t stop caring for his son, because he’s sorry for what he did to him. “Did it hurt?”
It’s more sad how William blamed him for the lost of his daughter and son when it was his fault but he still has emotions and he’s so angry and hurt after 30 years.

AMAZING portrayal!!
Even though he suffers inside the suit, he still has toxic and negative energy. This proves what a bad spirit William has always been. This video and the voices are amazing. Wow...
I mean I’d be pretty toxic if I was trapped in a metal suit with thousands of shards of metal lodged in my body while everything decomposes while I still lived for thirty years.
I love the demonic and mechanical, growling sound to Williams voice. The voice acting is incredibly terrifying yet amazing. I also love how Will is on the dark side of the room where we only see his eyes glow yet when we see Michael on the light side of the room, we dont see his face.
The voice is how the springlocks pierced his vocal cords and squeezed his lungs so hard that they filled up and he drowned in his own blood. Then the got squeezed and they exploded. Very brutal way to die
I never really actually realized how off-looking Michael Afton is. I always thought the cutscenes on FNAF were exaggerating but when you think of it, turns out Michael truly does look as inhuman as every other poor bastard in this franchise. I'm surprised he was still able to disguise himself and go out in the day lol.
In the golden freddy cinematic of SL he says that he have to live in the shadows ( but there are some theories that Michael slowly recover his human apparience )
William lost all his children and probably his wife too. He was springlocked (with good reason obviously) . Had his best friend turn against him (Henry obviously turned with good reason again, but still). William was locked in the safe room for thirty years. Was burnt alive twice. (well, dead, but conscious) was quite literally sent to hell itself and had to deal with those animatronics far more than him. Had to deal with mist of the same animatronics + a lot more. William had a far harder life than The Crying Child ever could. Or anyone in fnaf ever could either. Only person who could suffer as much is Michael and even Michael has a low chance.(William And Michael Have Suffered The Most In Fnaf Not Even C.C can compare to them...)
I like to believe that either he killed her for the soul to enter Bellora, or she did it herself after Elizabeth and Evan’s death and her soul took to the animatronic to torture him lol
God, the conversation is so realistic that it gives you the feeling that what you are seeing is real and not fake and it gives you some fear, Good animation and voice actors
the simple fact that even Michael sees something "good" in his father and asks that he not be killed destroys me. William, however twisted and sick he may be, still cares about his son, but he is blinded by his own thought that he believes he betrayed him with Henry. Anger and rage win it
God this was so good, the strain that William puts on himself just to speak, the erratic jumps between sorrow, anger, and blatant disregard for life around him. It melds together and just adds to the psychosis that he probably built up after all those years like he said.
This is one of the BEST and realistic VHS tapes in my opinion, williams struggle of speaking crushed inside a failed animatronic suit and his anger, micheals character love and fear for his father, honestly so much else i could say about this.
I love how William still felt awful about the death of Elizabeth and CC. He genuinely did regret letting them die. It gives him another layer of character instead of just generic psycho.
The way the Aftons were presented here are so satisfying, the hope in Michael's voice when he thought he got through his father and the slight panic he had when william raised his voice was just felt throughout it. I'm hoping Michael is fine though, cuz the series is doing such an amazing job portraying them. personally I'd be heartbroken if we lost Michael since he hasn't even got any proper answer from William yet P.S. i wanna take this seriously but i can't help but want to throw a glass of water on william cuz i can feel his throat pain from my ears down to my own throat.........
Despite William talking about how much he’s glad Michael is feeling pain, you can tell that he misses him more than ever. He just got mad because he triggered him because he mentioned Henry, wich is another person he loves and misses. He’s just mad because Micheal wasn’t there for him.
2:18 “did it hurt?” “Yes” “Good” I genuinely think Springtrap has some kind of sense left in him, and that’s what makes him such a cool character. No matter how much of a sick and twisted child murderer he was he still feels sorry for his son. Asking “did it hurt” just sound too much like a father caring for his son, just that he’s too corrupted to admit it
I always wonder if William just had problems expressing himself(which is why he comes off as cold) and since he couldn't it just built up until it exploded out

after 2:27, i think he got some sense. he sounds like a true killer who HAS remorse, but doesn’t at the same time. he wanted to kill those kids, but deep down he knew it was horrible. 3:22 he sounds actually hopeless and is admitting to his urges. he’s confused at why he wants to kill people. i find that very realistic, because i’m sure that’s how it was with some serial killers.
the agony on springtrap's distorted voice is honestly the ideal voice for his character, you can really feel the pain that he is feeling when he speaks
I didnt almost cry because of the guy, it was because of michael. He went through so much pain and abuse especially from his father and spent most his life looking for him, yet he still doesnt want them to kill him and still believes theres good inside his father.
Is sad to see how Micheal still loves his father after what's he done. I feel bad for him,he accidentally killed his brother, his sister died. We can hear in their voice how much they suffered, Especially Willams voice.
The way SpringTrap speaks is EXTREMELY Realistic, he shouldn't be able to speak, hence him having an extremely hard time doing so, speaking slowly and out of shape...
"Worthless excuse for a son." This video is _brutal._ It's got such a sad, hopeless atmosphere, watching Michael try to get through to his father who _still hasn't learned ANYTHING_ from all the pain he's felt/caused. Also puts into perspective just how horrible it would be to be Springtrap rotting away fully conscious in that back room (even though it was his own fault he got into that situation.) This is a work of art.
The fact that youtube age-restricted this makes this video (in my opinion) one of the best videos i ever watched in this channel, the voice acting is so genuine and i loved every single bit of this.
This VHS is incredible. I loved how you portrayed William and Michael’s relationship. You perfectly showed Michael’s naivety and William’s potent pain and anger.
Eventhough he has no reason to. He constantly fucked up and doomed everyone else for his own advantage, if he deserves to be locked in a room with animatronics tryna kill you inside a trapsuit with springs killing you and breaking your will to live is another story and far from what he has to be accountable for. But still, we shouldnt forget was this guy has done.
I love the way Mike just turns down the stretcher- “I’m already 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱” as if he was annoyed because it was obvious that they couldn’t help a dead person, but still trying to be polite
Ooh when william said " michael ", michael said " yes! yes its me " with actual hope in his voice that his father recognized him. He was actually happy. But then william just started raging and u could actually hear some panic in michael's voice. Michael actually thought that william would be happy to see him but then got scared when his father started screaming. Michael deserves so much better because he actually cared so much for william even after all this time. 😢
2:28 I really like how this humanizes William. Deep down, he clearly regrets his actions and he knows that what he's done is wrong for him, his victims, and most importantly, his family. And yet, he still keeps going, because he doesn't know what to do anymore. Edit: Also at 5:52 I kinda felt bad for Afton seeing his son insult him. Yeah, this REALLY humanizes Afton.
The fact that you can literally hear the pain in Williams voice while he’s speaking to his son saddens me because you would never think that he could show emotion like that considering how his character is. I honestly feel bad for William because he’s been trapped for 30 years with literally nobody or nothing, just loneliness and quietness. My heart is being touched while watching this video. I have no words to describe my emotions.

I like how the Afton's voices are so robotic. Michaels voice sounds like it's being filtered through a voice changer as a result of Ennard and William is struggling to use what little remains of his vocal cords to speak.
Remember. Micheal messing with Evan and Fredbear was what pushed them apart and lead to more tragedy then just the killings. Despite being a monster, William loved Evan, and despite what HE did, knew Micheal was at fault for that bite. Micheal might have made peace with himself and is just trying to help his father do the same with Evan’s death. This interview tells me William doesn’t blame him anymore, at the least he understands both Elizabeth AND Evan could’ve been prevented if he was a better father... or at least not a murderer.
but still blaming William for his mistake from Evan's death is a bs move I mean you killed your own brother with a water sensitive animatronic and blame your own father for it
@@argus1261 the mechanics required to crush a boy Evans ages skull would be much higher than the mechanics needed to make an animatronics mouth move. Those jaws were made to kill. And William afton built them. He. Is. At. Fault.

Stop fucking defending someone at fault
After staring at death multiple times, killing children, hearing the screams of his past victims, spending most of his (afterlife) in isolation, and even being tortured by his victims, reminded of what he's done constantly he still has emotions. No matter how far gone William was in his mind, Michael still had hope that he still cared about his children.
Getting Darth Vader vibes from William Afton in this tape because of how Darth Vader also constantly felt pain inside his suit too. They both also have this breathy and gravelly voice. Their similarities in character and lore is also interesting to think about!
I like how this shows how hard it is for William to talk, like how painful it must be. Trapped springlocked in an animatronic suit, with most of your flesh gone? Painful.
At that point, William would be completely dried. Old peepaw would just simply smell like unseasoned jerky, in all reality. In an enclosed environment, especially with stagnant air, flesh dries incredibly quickly.
Poor William. He is facing emotional damage, trust issues, anxiety, regret, depression, constant anger, mental issues, physical disability, constant pain, self-anger, constant aggression and he is always suffering. He killed those kids because he was trying to distract himself from the anger, guilt and regret from his kids dying to his own creations, despite him trying his best to run a good business to support his family and, knowing the danger of his creations, warned his kids, all of them, many many times not to go near his robots. And yet all of them but one dies to his own creations. Michael is a reminder of what happened to Williams kids, since Michael is one of them. So yeah.
What I love so much about this is how spot on you portrayed everything. This is in 2023, where Michael finally finds his father and wants to talk to him. William sounds so damaged and so broken and so accurate. Michael sounds and looks accurate too. His voice is British, he looks a bit purple even after 30 years, he is still scarred from the scooper. He has healed since then a bit but still. I mostly think the best part about this is not only how realistic this looks, but how this could’ve actually happened. This isn’t canon, but it’s possible that this happened. There is no part of the franchise that says otherwise.
Its possible something similar, DID happen. Micheal burnt down fazbear frights. And considering how afton lost an arm. Its possible they had some confrontation. After all a fire axe would likely be there
Real talk, i really hope Springtrap sounds like this in the FNAF movie if they decide to add him, i really love how his voice sounds like he is constantly choking on metal and wires while having his lungs ripped apart, honestly this is what Springtrap should have sounded like, it would be more realistic in a sense compared to what he sounded like in UCN/Security Breach.
I love how it sounds as though William is hurting just trying to speak, I mean, I'm surprised his throat is still operating correctly even though its skinnier than spaghetti
Recently found this series and I'm loving it. My sympathy for Michael and just the disgust for Springtrap. William being such an awful & abusive creature. The only reason he doesn't continue to hurt Michael is because of the electric shock the facility workers did. Going to find them to prevent another shock, planning to continue to inflict pain once he returns to Michael. William really is a monster. Not just in the sense of the undead Springtrap but a manipulative, cruel sociopath. Trying to paint himself as a victim. Bending truths just enough to obscure his unapologetic actions. It's terrifying. The voice acting is so well done. Everyone mentions how he sounds like he's in absolute pain. William deserves every bit of that pain. This series is so good!
He is a psychopath, although there are those who believe that there is no difference between a sociopath and a psychopath. But sociopaths seem to feel regret, while psychopaths don't feel empathy or remorse.
The dynamic of Springtrap’s character is brilliant here. At first he’s constantly blaming and berating Micheal. Then Michael tells him how he’s disgusted with his actions involving the children. Spring trap then abruptly changes to subject to small talk. “You look different.” Fucking loved it. You can tell it’s a touchy subject for him. You can see, for a split second, his concern with his son when he asks “did it hurt?” and immediately berates Micheal when he responds. You can tell he’s been through a lot of pain for a long time and that small, tiny, pieces of what he used to be still exist. He then laments over his actions and acknowledges the fact that it was his fault. He says “he doesn’t know what’s wrong with him.” Then immediately reverts to talking about killing everyone and all that. This shows he’s furious for the fact that he got sealed in that room and had to suffer all those years, but he understands that it was his actions that ultimately led him to his unfortunate fate. You can tell he has a sliver of regret for everything, but the pain and anger of being locked in that suit triumphs over any feeling of remorse. I feel for Springtrap. I really do, but I also understand killing kids is no bueno. He deserves his punishment, it sucks that Mike got caught in the crossfire. You guys did an amazing job with this. 👍👏 Edit: maybe I’m looking to deep into this, but whatever.

Finally, someone who is not an Afton apologist

He is a psychopath, although there are those who believe that there is no difference between a sociopath and a psychopath. But sociopaths seem to feel regret, while psychopaths don't feel empathy or remorse.
1:42 he said it… actually felt proud of him. Hope hes ok tho :(
The dynamic of Springtrap’s character is brilliant here. 👍👏
