As someone born in 1996, I remember the magic of the 'computer room' my parents had in our house growing up. Like it was almost as if I had to schedule in time to be on the internet and it was never for long periods of time. There were rules! But now all these years later in 2024, I really struggle. I work off of social media and my phone / computer daily. I know deep down in my heart taking a break from it all would be SO beneficial to my overall health and wellbeing but that scarcity mindset of not having an income usually keeps me from doing so. I'm sure there's a balance for me somewhere, and I hope this year I can find it. Either that, or I'll just have to keep taking trips to Ohio to hide out and rest!! Thanks for sharing with us xo
Welcome to a taste of how us Gen Xers grew up. I definitely had to limit my social media because it is such a time-suck. I’m glad you gave yourself this gift :)
The best thing you can do to your mental health and overall wellbeing is to delete all social media..keep the UA-cam as it may help you financially..and if it gets too much disable the comment section. I don't have any social media and will never do...though I'm thinking to have a UA-cam channel to share my experience and knowledge, as I live off grid alone in the mountains in central Europe without a car or electricity, not even solar panels, just a tiny power bank I charge at a friend's house to charge my old mobile phone with limited access to internet, as I don't have a computer or internet...just a typewriter, Ms. Pistachios 😊 and tons of books...I grow most of my food, keep chickens and goats, preserve my food mainly through fermenting or dehydrating...make my soap, vinegar, candles, etc. Have no job or money but I eat like a Queen😇😁 all organic and grown by me...the reason I'd love to start a UA-cam channel is to share this journey with people, especially single ladies like me who want to live off grid but scared to do it alone. All the best. Salam. Xxx

Oh wow! I never considered setting a time limit. Such a great idea. Is that something that is programmable in the phone?
