Stew, I just brought my Hobie Compass Camo kayak home this week. I was so impressed by your beautiful videos that I thought this is the best kayak for me at my stage of the game. Thank you for your videos.
Thank you Stew for convincing me to change my kayak order from an Outback to a Compass in Camo colors. I am much like you except I will be paddling rivers in North Dakota and Minnesota. B Appreciate scientific names of plants. Keep inspiring old guys like me who need a lighter car topable kayak. My current kayak is a Wilderness tarpon 14. Hope the Compass does me well. Hobie Alter was my hero growing up in San Diego 1960s. Hobie and Gordon and Smith are icons on the west coast. Long live HotCurl at WindanSea Beach, Cal
How do you like paddling the Compass instead of using the Mirage Drive? I’ve been looking at the Compass for awhile now but, until your video, hadn’t seen anyone paddle it. I’d like the flexibility of pedal and paddle for longer distances but as your video demonstrates, nothing beats the serenity of paddling.
It paddles great. Having the ability to switch between paddling and pedaling allows you to take the compass on anything from ocean to small stream. And the fact that it’s Roto molded polyethylene allows it to take a lot of abuse, scraping over rocks etc.
I love the way my compass paddles. Sometimes I want the paddling experience and I just paddle and get that upper body workout that I need. It's nice to bounce back and forth between the two.😎

Verry good!
Fantastic video, loved it! Such beautiful scenery. Your videos are very calming but so entertaining at the same time. Well done 👍🏻
Well done, nice job on the edit and audio, appreciate the names of highlighted species you encountered, thanks!
Great video...New in this area. Is there any issues with camping along Bull run?
Fantastic. How do you kayak towards back the stream? Is it difficult?
Didn’t know they let you camp like that
Espetacular ...eu queria isso pra minha vida..
Bull Run is a fun creek to paddle! Especially above the Stone Bridge :D Where did you camp?
Where abouts in VA is this? I'd like to check it out if possible.
Amazing to think the confederate and / or union cavalry watered their horses there
Edit* where did you put in? I saw that you pulled out at 28
About 3.5 miles upstream of Stone Bridge. It’s not a public putin. You can also putin at Stone Bridge for a shorter day trip.
@@stewgrandoutdoors1822 really liked the video. Thanks again
