Seemed to me like KanaKana being the social/conversational savant he is, likely knowingly set up a situation with his remark of them not being able to play ranked valo together anymore because of their difference in rank where Kamito is pretty much hard-pressed/elicited to give the teetee response that he gave because staying silent and choosing to ignore it would’ve made the vibe kind of awkward. Considering what he said after (“what else was i supposed to say”, I have nothing to say [but that]”) and the way he acted when they teased him for it after he seemed to realize the situation and willingly took the bait even though he doesn’t usually play into the oreapo teetee stuff anymore but considering the context he probably considered it the “lesser of both evils” at the moment typa thing. Also since Japan/japanese is a really “reading between the lines” culture and language. That’s just my interpretation tho.
Basically think of it like if your with your homie and a girl and your friend is being the annoying wingman that you didn’t ask for by saying to her “oh, you’re walking home all alone? at this time? and you have no ride? what ever shall you do? *winks at you*. Kana was just being less obvious about it because again, they tend to pick up on these social cues/nuances naturally.
