If you want more out of the AXE derailleur, you can mod the heck out of the spring tension on them. The spring assembly is really similar to old Shimano 9 speed XT derailleurs.

Bought the Boundary at Walmart in CA and used it in the dry, sandy riverbed in my town. loved spinnin out in the sand with a big, heavy, cheap mountain bike that looked good for little money
I bought the large frame one at Walmart. It is such a nice bike that has a lot of features. The one I bought had the seat problem with cable in housing and they knock 50 off and its assembled already. Your video on this bike is very helpful .

For a boost rear end its 148mm if its 145 it's non boost standard if your lucky guys you've got boost 141 which is boost for QR wheels and not thru axles hope this helps keep the awesome videos coming I enjoy them living in the UK

Just searched Walmart and it seems the price has gone up $100 for the new blue, non-dp model? The black model is $398 and the new blue model appears to be $499. The blue dp version also appears to have gone back down to $499 from $598. All of them are still out of stock. Glad I received mine last week!!!
I just got Axum delivered yesterday 4/2/21. Not together yet. I have to tear it down and grease all bearing races first. Never enough from factory, if any at all, lol. Then do a few upgrades. I got new pedals and seat today. I plan to make E-bike out of it. Forks,crank,better brakes,shamano derailer, shifter with numbers, lol. Upgrade as time goes on. I have the black one. No drop post,but I don't need that. Thank you for great video. You got new sub.😊🍻

DVD I have never even heard of that movie. The axum is really nice I'm not a fan of 29ers but I think the best thing about these Schwinn's is that they have tapered head tubes

Love the KNEEPADS! And ofc all the great work you gents do! Got an Axum on the way, but not planning to keep it - - right after ordering, saw the new blue/gray women's Al Comp came out. So my daughter will get that, and my son will keep his black/silver men's. Any final verdict on the Zoom brakes? Need to get hydros, and the MT200's are WAY up there now (and the Zooms are now pushing $60). Some say trick is to run the Zooms w Shim pads.
Also just to add, I think you mentioned the Ascension may be the first big-box to have internal cable routing? My Hyper Carbon X 29er has it as well, just fyi. (Really dig it, but wondering if Walmart is going to continue carrying them.)

Man we tried to get one, loved the design but when we were going to order one they had gone up another $100 so had to take it out of the cart. I think they may not continue? I dont know would like to see a new design:) Regarding the internal routing I was meaning never had seen one in a store with internal routing from Walmart or Target. Did you buy your from Walmart like on the floor?
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Yep just after the price went up a few weeks ago, tracked down a Carbon X in a wm about an hour away. The whole way there, debated if I was willing to pay the higher price, or if any good way to talk them down. But luckily the old ($498) price was still stickered all over it. So it rang up high at the register, but no prob for them to adjust it. Haven't weighed, but supposed to be around 32# stock. And a standover about the same as the men's Al Comp (a good 2" lower than the Schinn 29ers?). It comes with kid's bike pedals, slightly too short (for me) of a seatpost and bars (for anyone), so went with Bikein peds, EC90 carbon post (400mm) and bars (760mm). For brakes, just ordered the Xtech HB100 hybrids, will be fun to try them out. Also've had my eye on that RC32 (and X-Fusion in general), so it's amazing you just got one! Have no doubt it's destined to become your new #1. Thanks again, and keep up the good work brothers!

wolftick videos: we buy a new wheel for fork/ cassette upgrades. evan's mtb saga: I'm going to spend a few hours despoking a wheel and just replacing the hub. i would just buy a new rear wheel lol
If we had the time and knowledge to change out the hub we would probably do that sometimes as well. Maybe if we go full time UA-camr we will take on that challenge, but until then it's all about the wheel replacement🤣. Not everyone has your superpowers Evan 🧑🔧😜.
The rear hub is Boost 141, I'm waiting on the medium frame in red to come out in May to do a budget build. I think the MicroShift Acolyte deraileur and shifter would be a decent budget drivetrain upgrade,
Man lets just keep t in the frame department:) THE GT. So far we have thrown everything at it and abused the hell out of it as well:) The Axum is not yet tested so the GT. But we will see longterm as well:)

Isn't this the 2020 schwinn axum and didn't you say it was a dp? I don't see a dropper post. Doesn't the 2021 only come in the red with the light blue schwinn sticker and blue with the black schwinn sticker? Do you get a different color with the dropper post version? I'm so confused. On the walmart website why is the 19 in frame matched with the 17 in frame and the 17 in frame is matched with the 19 in frame and one is 498.00 and the other is 499.00. I feel like I'm losing my mind!
So when we got this bike it was the 2021 model and it was $398. The 2020 model had some color differences. At the time this bike was only offered in L. When we bought it, it was listed as having a dropper but we knew it did not. There was a lot of confusion on the site during this time as well. The Red and Blue DP model in M became available just a week or two later for $498 which we have and it is here in this link. I'm not sure if the Black and Blue model ever became available in the M with dropper. It seems that the Walmart sire has got better with the accuracy of their listings, but we don't keep a close eye on it anymore. Man....hard question for a first MTB. This bike does have a freehub as opposed to a freewheel which makes it very desirable and very upgradable. It is expensive but I take it since you have raced dirt bikes im sure, you are gonna wanna feel comfy in the saddle and fast on the trails:) This bike is a winner and with a 29" wheelset it is gonna be very capable. I just bought an Axum and had it sent to my son's place in Las Vegas so I would have a bike to ride down there when I visit twice a year. I needed to know the seat post size so I could order a dropper. He put an adjustable wrench on the post, then measured the gap at between 1 1/16 - 1 1/8" = 27.2ish mm. I already ordered a 27.2 TMars dropper. Are you sure yours is 30.8mm? If so, are they building these with 2 different seat posts? I see that the dropper arrived at his house, but am unable to reach my son to see if I will need to purchase an adapter and another bolt seat post clamp.
Hey brother for sure it is 30.9, it is stamped on the post. The Ascension is a 31.8 and I measured it with a caliper which gives the +/- a mm. But hopefully you can find the shimm? Thanks man and let me know if this helps you out:) AXUM=30.9mm seatpost

Got Maxxis on it too 2.5 works great. The rims are not tubeless ready but I guess u can make it budget style ;) They also put a straight fork in a tapered tube ;) it works but u HAVE GOT TO change out the the headset cuz the one that’s in there is horrible
Yeah man on all of our Schwinns we have we are sure to always change the headsets. 44-56mm I believe. Funny with eh straight non tapered steerer tube lol, people think they can even use the crown race!! 😂 Later man
Hey brother, I recently rode this bike and feel (when) we put a 29er fork on this thing we will prob go with a 120 or so. The geometry now is straight downhill for sure and fee 20 more mm or even 40mm wont effect the climbing one bit, you are so close to the front tire as it is and the balance of the bike is amazing. I wouldent think it would effect too much, but thats just my opinion. Thanks man and hope to see you for the Realtime Review this Tuesday!!

I didn't get notified for this video. So sorry I missed it. I really want this bike but can't afford it 😢😢😢. Also I have a serious question. I have a 29" mountain bike but feel its to big want to get a 27.5" but am also considering a 26" because of prices. In 5'11" would a 26" be too small for me?
Possibly man, I would feel ti would be. Why not get a 27.5 wheelset and stick it on your 29er???

Got an Axum on the way, but not planning to keep it - - right after ordering, saw the new blue/gray women's Al Comp came out. So my daughter will get that, and my son will keep his black/silver men's.
Any final verdict on the Zoom brakes? Need to get hydros, and the MT200's are WAY up there now (and the Zooms are now pushing $60). Some say trick is to run the Zooms w Shim pads.
Also just to add, I think you mentioned the Ascension may be the first big-box to have internal cable routing? My Hyper Carbon X 29er has it as well, just fyi. (Really dig it, but wondering if Walmart is going to continue carrying them.)

Man we tried to get one, loved the design but when we were going to order one they had gone up another $100 so had to take it out of the cart. I think they may not continue? I dont know would like to see a new design:) Regarding the internal routing I was meaning never had seen one in a store with internal routing from Walmart or Target. Did you buy your from Walmart like on the floor?
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Yep just after the price went up a few weeks ago, tracked down a Carbon X in a wm about an hour away. The whole way there, debated if I was willing to pay the higher price, or if any good way to talk them down. But luckily the old ($498) price was still stickered all over it. So it rang up high at the register, but no prob for them to adjust it. Haven't weighed, but supposed to be around 32# stock. And a standover about the same as the men's Al Comp (a good 2" lower than the Schinn 29ers?).
It comes with kid's bike pedals, slightly too short (for me) of a seatpost and bars (for anyone), so went with Bikein peds, EC90 carbon post (400mm) and bars (760mm). For brakes, just ordered the Xtech HB100 hybrids, will be fun to try them out. Also've had my eye on that RC32 (and X-Fusion in general), so it's amazing you just got one! Have no doubt it's destined to become your new #1.

If we had the time and knowledge to change out the hub we would probably do that sometimes as well. Maybe if we go full time UA-camr we will take on that challenge, but until then it's all about the wheel replacement🤣. Not everyone has your superpowers Evan 🧑🔧😜.

The rear hub is Boost 141, I'm waiting on the medium frame in red to come out in May to do a budget build. I think the MicroShift Acolyte deraileur and shifter would be a decent budget drivetrain upgrade,

Whats your thoughts on the better bike: Schwinn or the GT Aggressor?
Man lets just keep t in the frame department:) THE GT. So far we have thrown everything at it and abused the hell out of it as well:) The Axum is not yet tested so the GT. But we will see longterm as well:)
That is one beautiful hardtail . Give her a set of MT 200s and some 180 mm discs and some SR Suntour air fork .

Isn't this the 2020 schwinn axum and didn't you say it was a dp? I don't see a dropper post. Doesn't the 2021 only come in the red with the light blue schwinn sticker and blue with the black schwinn sticker? Do you get a different color with the dropper post version? I'm so confused. On the walmart website why is the 19 in frame matched with the 17 in frame and the 17 in frame is matched with the 19 in frame and one is 498.00 and the other is 499.00. I feel like I'm losing my mind!
So when we got this bike it was the 2021 model and it was $398. The 2020 model had some color differences. At the time this bike was only offered in L. When we bought it, it was listed as having a dropper but we knew it did not. There was a lot of confusion on the site during this time as well. The Red and Blue DP model in M became available just a week or two later for $498 which we have and it is here in this link. I'm not sure if the Black and Blue model ever became available in the M with dropper. It seems that the Walmart sire has got better with the accuracy of their listings, but we don't keep a close eye on it anymore. I completely understand your frustrations.

I’ve ridden dirt bike sense a kid and often to go MX tracks and race in scramblers. Is this bike gone no to en enough as my first mountain bike? I can’t believe how expensive they all are.
Man....hard question for a first MTB. This bike does have a freehub as opposed to a freewheel which makes it very desirable and very upgradable. It is expensive but I take it since you have raced dirt bikes im sure, you are gonna wanna feel comfy in the saddle and fast on the trails:) This bike is a winner and with a 29" wheelset it is gonna be very capable. I just bought an Axum and had it sent to my son's place in Las Vegas so I would have a bike to ride down there when I visit twice a year. I needed to know the seat post size so I could order a dropper. He put an adjustable wrench on the post, then measured the gap at between 1 1/16 - 1 1/8" = 27.2ish mm. I already ordered a 27.2 TMars dropper. Are you sure yours is 30.8mm? If so, are they building these with 2 different seat posts? I see that the dropper arrived at his house, but am unable to reach my son to see if I will need to purchase an adapter and another bolt seat post clamp.
Hey brother for sure it is 30.9, it is stamped on the post. The Ascension is a 31.8 and I measured it with a caliper which gives the +/- a mm. But hopefully you can find the shimm? Thanks man and let me know if this helps you out:) AXUM=30.9mm seatpost

Got Maxxis on it too 2.5 works great. The rims are not tubeless ready but I guess u can make it budget style ;)
They also put a straight fork in a tapered tube ;) it works but u HAVE GOT TO change out the the headset cuz the one that’s in there is horrible
Yeah man on all of our Schwinns we have we are sure to always change the headsets. 44-56mm I believe. Funny with eh straight non tapered steerer tube lol, people think they can even use the crown race!! 😂 Later man

Ok what happens to the geometry when u put a 120mm fork on it? Is it gonna be too slack for xc?
Hey brother, I recently rode this bike and feel (when) we put a 29er fork on this thing we will prob go with a 120 or so. The geometry now is straight downhill for sure and fee 20 more mm or even 40mm wont effect the climbing one bit, you are so close to the front tire as it is and the balance of the bike is amazing. I wouldent think it would effect too much, but thats just my opinion. Thanks man and hope to see you for the Realtime Review this Tuesday!!
