I did both of the brakes and let me tell you, these pieces of shit will make you into a body builder with how much strength you have to use to even reconnect the springs. It's a really simple job that takes hour and half to do because of the damn springs
To properly remove the stuck drum, you need to release the tention on the shoes from the inner drum rotor. Wear and tear makes a lip groove that makes the brake shoe get stuck inside the worn off groove. So do it right , don't bang the drum. Or stick anything in the groove. Just loosen the brake tension through the brake adjuster.
I think I last time I got the path thickness limit as close to as 1mm, so yours looks far from needed to be replaced. Last time I just exchanged the two pads, but it's several years now. I am going to check again and may need to replace them this time. That's why I checked you video here today. Thanks!

I agree. I would have cleaned the shoes and hardware, and inspected drums and adjusted that star wheel, then taken it for a test drive to verify that it stops properly.
The is window to the back of hub to adjust the brake shoe to remove drum or there are two holes on the drum to place I think it's 14 bolts that you can wind in to pry off the drum cover.
Yes. That slot in the backing plate is to adjust the star adjuster. It’s a little hard to get to it to adjust, though. I normally adjust until there’s slight drag slipping the from back on and spinning it a bit. If you adjust while the wheels are on, spin the wheel and when it’s adjusted properly, it should spin 2-3 times max.
Hey thanks for the reply. I am trying to loosen/bring the shoes inward because one of them is worn all the way down. So I don't want it scoring the drum. I moved it up a bunch of clicks two separate times now. I am assuming I'm going the right way because when I rotate the drum it still has no contact. I'm gonna keep adjusting the star wheel more tI'll the noise goes away.
Would have been nice if you showed the actual removal and installation.

They are brake "shoes" in the rear, not "pads" like in the front.

I want to say up, however I could be wrong. It moves fairly quick though so try both ways to check and see if that rod shortens or extends.

You could definitely try! I just bought that tool because it was specifically designed for the job and wasn't very expensive

This bolt you need 2 in the hub are 2 holes that these bolts will fit turn evenly untill the hub pops off. Metric 8 x 1.25 x 30
