How many kilometres had your bike done? the filter looks very dirty. The reason I ask is that I have removed several filters from many fuel injected ktm EXC's and they are always filled with black gunk, and even in my case I use a filter sock on every fill? I really think the black stuff is being produced by the fuel pump, what do you think?
Does not even clean the tank's exterior before disassembly. Dirt and crap could easily end up in the tank. Probably did when he "plugged the holes" with rags as he pushed in dirt. Some people do more damage than good! He would never be allowed to work on anything I own.
Your vid helped me with tank swap - Thanks !!!!!!
take a hair drying on hot, to soften the line, pulls right offzero damage potential that way
Awesome! Thanks for the video!
Nice one, good vid.

I really don't know where it comes from, I might have done 80-100 hours before I replaced the filter, not sure about the odometer though.
I looked into my fuel tank on ktm tpi 250 with 20 hours and filter is already black. So yes, pump is producing black particles.
Yes the blackening of the fuel is from carbon from the actual fuel pump internals themself.
what size SS clamps did you use? Need to replace my filter over the weekend with 300hrs on the odd I'm curious to see how it looks.
CdnX690 I got the smallest available at my local Canadian Tire.. in doubt bring your new filte, buy a bit larger (rubber hose)
You forgot the filter in the black pump assembly.
you should clean the tank first.
