Great tips to consider!.. you're fortunate to be in Ont!...so a lot more destination choices than from the Pacific side of Canada..

@cyntil4362 it's a bonus for sure. We are also just over an hour from Detroit Metro which opens up a whole different set of destinations and price points. But unfortunately not for Cuba. Cheers!

Great video, guys, as always! Good tips and most apply to booking a trip to many countries. We've been considering doing more videos in this style, like packing tips, things to know before going, etc. Love this format!

@aviandv thanks guys. This one was driven by our viewer requests so we were happy to share some of what we know. As you know it can take a while to put out some of the other long form content due to its complexity so it's nice just to have a couple drinks and hit record from time to time and slow things down a little bit on the editing side of things. Cheers!

@beachbumbling 100%! Editing is so time consuming. I heard another UA-camr say that for every 1 minute of video, it takes about 1 hour of editing. We've never really tracked it but that figure feels right to us. If you try to put out a 15-20 minute video every week, it's like having a part time job. On top of our full time ones, it can be a challenge for us to release regular content.

Use a travel agent! 😅 we' get the same pricing. Its government regulated. Tuesday the weekly deals come out.Good luck ever getting through to West Jet or Transat!

While we never use a travel agent, we know some people aren't comfortable booking without one but if you are more comfortable using an agent @juliajoannasterling4342 is one we would feel comfortable recommending.

@thoeodorereading5785 thanks. We had been asked some of those questions a lot since we published our first Cuba series so we hope it was of value. Cheers!

    Which resorts are Cuban owned?

    • @beachbumbling

In Varadero we had gone to Club Kawama and had booked Hotel Tuxpan until Sunwing cancelled the trip. We had good luck with the food at Kawama and we're told Hotel Tuxpan had minimal issues as well. Thanks for watching!

Is it good to book Cuba excursions from the Cuba or it's should be pre booked? Does it make difference in price if booked with the locals in Cuba?

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  Місяць тому +1

We didn't notice much of a price difference if we would have booked online before we left Canada vs what we paid when we got there. We didn't come across a lot of locals that were selling excursions unlike some places in Mexico so we can't answer that part. I wouldn't worry about booking ahead more than a couple days. Cheers

Rekomendation#7, go to bank, get crispy, new bills of 5,10,20 US$ and help staff by exchanging small $1US bills for equivalent in bigger bills. It helps them enormously to buy food on the market. In Cuba they don't accept damaged, folded bills. Do the same with Canadian $1-2 coins. For us money is money. Not so in Cuba.
Tip#8 If you have used stuff and don't need it, take it for hotel staff. They almost cried when I gave them goodes. At this point there is absolutely nothing! Value Village is a great place to get some cheap toys for children.
#9 if you can afford it please buy some chocolate for children. I bought chocolate for $1.49 in Walmart and my eggs lady was talking for a few days about " that fantastic caramel chocolate" her son got.
Shoes are ready needed, t-shirts, jeans.
We all have things we don't need and it's a lifesaver for those who don't.
Have a great vacation. I just came back from Paradisus Varadero.
All good food tourists, not so for locals.

@@beachbumblingThank you. At this point the situation is tragic. I have never seen people in a resort afraid that they might have to lose their job. They are really begging tourists to come back. Many resorts are empty. Mine was just operating at 25%, and that mostly Russians. Very few Canadians! Much less tips, much less help. Sad, sad place.
