    I'm opposed to pirating content. But I'm more opposed to greedy Hollywood types preventing normal people from watching content and then upgrading the standard from 2.0 to 2.1 to 2.2 to 2.3, expecting everybody to go buy new TVs, monitors, and home theater system components. That's rediculous! This whole hdcp thing needs to go away. And I hope more devices like this come out to bypass it.

      Remember when the entertainment industry had fits when people could buy beta/vhs recorders ! You would have thought the world was coming to an end. But wait ! They did find a way to eventually not be so worried about copy write protection and figured out how to make tons of money off of releasing prerecorded videos and also blank videos. So in the end it ended up being a win / win for everyone. I agree, do away with the copy write bs.

    I have a monoprice hdmi switcher 8x1 and an Mcable ultra on its output into the TV. The Mcable is a newer hdmi cable than the supposedly 1.4 hdmi switcher and there is no output from the switcher to the TV using the cable. Will this help solve the issue?

      Hey Jajora! The KD-HDFIX22 should help in this case. Depending on the content required to pass, we would recommend setting the EDID dial to a specific handshake. For example, EDID position 4 is 1080p with 2 Channel audio. See p.5 of the following manual for a table with the supported EDID settings: bzbexpress.com/files/attachments/9394/key-digital-kd-hdfix22-datasheet.pdf
      We would also enable forced hot plugging, which can be accessed via a slide switch on the unit. This feature can also help clear up connectivity problems as it forces a high signal to both the input and output of the KD-HDFIX22.
      Keep in mind that the maximum bandwidth supported by the KD-HDFIX22 is 10.2G. The newer KD-FIX418 supports 4Ks current high-end 18G signals bzbexpress.com/KD-FIX418-4K-18G-HDMI-Fixer-Booster-Buffer-EDID-HDCP-by-Key-Digital.html

    I’ve been looking for a solution to my problem. My AV receiver doesn’t support HDR cuz of HDCP 2.2. If I want HDR I have to plug my PS5 directly to the TV but I will not get lossless audio or DTS, only Dolby Digital via ARC. Will this device bypass the HDCP so I can have HDR and Lossless audio through my AVR?

      Hello Lloyd, sorry no this device is to help with HDCP conflicts, not able to strip them away. You should consider getting a HDMI Splitter that supports the formats you seeks. Run one HDMI into the Receiver and the other to the TV.

      Happy New Year, Gary! Yes, your setup is possible. You can extract the audio and connect with Multi-Channel PCM to your receiver for audio. However, do you know if your old receiver supports Dolby?

      A much cheaper option (under $65), would be one of two units sold in the US. From what I understand they are made by an unknown company then re-branded. The more well known unit is the ViewHD VHD-UHAE2. The other unit is the Orei HDA-925. From what I hear there is also an identical unit available in the UK from VORKE. One HDMI out has both Video and Audio, the other only has Audio.
      One important thing to note is in the description ** Please use certified 18Gbps HDMI cables under 15ft **. My guess is that with cables that long or longer you'll probably need a splitter with booster capabilities because the signal will be reduced to the point that it causes issues. Be it no usable signal or intermittent problems. Past that dollar point consider the KD-HDFIX22 or one of the solutions from HDFury. HDFury makes a few somewhat? lower priced solutions that start at about $100. and goes up from there and each one has added features.
      The problem with most splitters is that if you plug one HDMI output into your 4K TV and the other HDMI output into the old receiver then the unit with the higher capabilities will automatically downgrade to match the other. For most people this means your TV is going to revert back to 1080p.
      The ViewHD and Orei units are the place to start.

      Hi, yes it is backwards compatible for HDCP. But note below when it comes to HDCP 1.4.
      "With HDMI 1.4 you're limited to a frame rate of 24fps when watching 4K video. Because of its higher bandwidth and ability to transfer more data per second, HDMI 2.0 can support 4K video at up to 60 frames per second - optimal for watching live sports or playing video."

    But I guess with the audio splitter since it’s not hdmi to the receiver it will be optical or coax to receiver meaning Dolby digital would be possible but not Dolby true and and stuff.
    Does the tv input need to be also hdmi 2.2 I have a sonic Ux17a 75 inch and in the options I can only change from hdmi EDID 1.4 to 2.0 there is no 2.2 so even if I use this splitter from my Roku to amp when the amp send it to the tv wouldn’t the tv also stop the 2.2 aswell due to the options only being 1.4 and 2.0 in the software ?

    • @BZBTVchannel
      @BZBTVchannel  5 років тому

      Hey Daily Driver! There are two audio outputs on the KD-HDFIX22. One is a direct Balanced / Unbalanced output for wiring directly into sound systems, while the other is a coax out. The Balanced / Unbalanced output supports 2 channel audio only. The Coax output supports 2 channel audio and Dolby.
      One thing to note is that this audio output is a duplicate of the audio signal coming through on the HDMI signal. The HDMI signal will still have its audio signal which can still play on things the HDMI passes through (e.g., display mounted speakers).
      The KD-HDFIX22 is HDCP 2.2 compliant, so there should be no issues there with this box. Common use cases for this unit include display-side incompatibility with source signals.

I have a capable Dolby Atmos receiver and a 4K Blu-ray player because I like Dolby Atmos 4k Blu-ray, however my Tv is a 1080p plasma ZT 60 Panasonic which is not HDCP 2.2 , Will this box allow me to stream 4K Blu-ray downscaled to 1080p Bypassing HDCP 2.2 so it will work on my TV and still get Dolby Atmos . ?

      Sorry to hear you are having trouble, Seth. From the info you've provided, it surely seems like an HDCP error. Also, have you tried adjusting the settings on your Roku or updating the firmware? Have you also tried another HDMI cable? How about connecting the Roku to another display instead of the projector? You may also want to check this link for resolution, support.roku.com/article/208755468-what-should-i-do-if-i-see-a-hdcp-error-detected-message-or-a-purple-screen , If the error persists, you may want to contact Roku or Epson to troubleshoot, but the KD-HDFix22 is designed to resolve HDCP errors and may fix your issue. Why didn't you cover EDID on the unit?

    • @BZBTVchannel
      @BZBTVchannel  6 років тому

      Hey Bobby! Apologies as we only briefly explained what EDID means. The KD-HDFIX22 has EDID control with 15 internal EDID tables or EDID copy from output/display. There's an EDID control rotary on the unit and provides a list of compatible audio/video formats, as well as digital data, informing the source device what it should be outputting. Check out the product page for more info: bzbexpress.com/KD-HDFIX22-HDMI-Extender-Booster-Buffer-of-EDID-with-Audio-De-Embedder-by-Key-Digital.html or feel free to contact us.

      My situation is that I have a Dell Laptop with an Intel HD 4000 graphics card that will see my Vizio TV as a second monitor. If I connect my HDMI output to my Denon X2300W A/V Receiver input, the laptop does not see the TV via the A/V Receiver. I am assuming this is either EDID or HDCP issue. I do not think it is HDCP related since no media such as DVD or CD is being output from the laptop. Denon cannot explain why this is happening, so I am looking for answers/ solution.

    • @BZBTVchannel
      @BZBTVchannel  6 років тому

      Having the AV receiver in the middle will cause the laptop to only “see” the AVR. That's because the AVR provides the EDID to the video source. But in a healthy scenario the TV will still show picture, of course.
      The HDFix22 could be a solution here. Use the audio de-embed to provide analog or digital audio connection to the AVR while sending HDMI to the TV.
      Or, by using Key Digital's DA1x2 , you can send HDMI to both the AVR and TV and not rely on the pass thru of the AVR. This option would also enable audio format up to 7.1 on the HDMI connector.
      Here's a link to the DA1x2: bzbexpress.com/KD-DA1x2-1x2-HDMI-Distribution-Amplifier-4K-UHD-HDCP-2-2-by-Key-Digital.html
      Hope you solve your riddle!

    Question. I want to plug my Elgato HD60 to the back of my HDCP 2.2 amplifier but HDCP 2.2 refuses to let the Elgato work. Could I use this to bypass that so I can record my game footage?

    • @BZBTVchannel
      @BZBTVchannel  4 роки тому

      Short answer is no. HDCP protects content, you cannot technically get around this. There are some folks out there that have ways to get around, but you will need to research this for your Elgato device. Some game units like Xbox and PS4 you can try to turn off HDCP.

    Now over a year later, question is, does this still work or have the HDCP promoters caught up with you & defeated you? Or did this never prevent HDCP? I think u need an old splitter now to beat HDCP & possibly only w/ older equipment.

    • @BZBTVchannel
      @BZBTVchannel  6 років тому

      Hi Thunkful2, the Fix22 still works as it's supposed to. The Fix22 never prevented HDCP. The unit adds HDCP 2.2 compliance to work with legacy equipment and other non HDCP 2.2 devices.

    Alright, I going to be the dumb guy here who asks a lot of questions (just to be sure) here’s what I have in mind.
    I have a 4K tv with 3 HDMI 2.0 ports (supported with 4k@60Hz 4:4:4) - to which I’m going to connect a splitter - which will be connected to an Apple TV 4K. Which therefore won’t give me the error (HDCP 2.2) when I press play in UHD.
    If there’s anything I’m missing help will be appreciated a lot

      Your results may vary depending on quality and manufacturer of your switch. Typically you need a dedicated scaler or fixer like the KD-HDFix22 or the BG-HDMI4K-SC to guarantee compatibility.
