This guy is a serious up and coming heavyweight, a guy who dropped and stopped the scary Frank Sanchez, also he is of Kurdish descent, a great represented for the struggle of Kurds for so long.
It was easy to see this coming to Makhmudov. He has never been a boxer, actually. A big heavy-hitting man who walks around trying to strike his opponent's head with a gloved fist. Not a trained boxer in any sense-- more like a bouncer who was invited to be paid better in a different environment. No footwork whatsoever. No evidence of study of timing, distance, angles. Zip. This is why I usually ignore the heavyweights. They largely big slobs far too impressed with themselves and completely lacking in the finer points.
