Fun fact: I was in the audience for this, and for reasons unexplained this song was not recorded in front of the TV audience. When the rest of the show was filmed/performed, this was brought in on a big TV for the audience to react to. It had either been filmed earlier in the day, or possibly the day before (can't remember now)
Maybe it was hard to perform and the risk of a flaw was too high.
Probably whoever was voicing Kermit couldn't at that time.
Still brilliant
They didn't want to spoil the reveal.
I suppose singing with a puppet has its inherent risks and they thought 1) it would be safer to pre-record such a difficult human/puppet segment and 2) Kylie could take a short break and change costume ready for the next bit.
