It would seem that way, but the boxes were designed by a premier duck breeder in the country. He made them this way for ventilation purposes and for security.
The permits are usually not too difficult to obtain, but local zoning and ordinances might make it pretty hard. Wild species of birds are a real joy and I wish you the best.
Thank you for your question. The birds are all wild species and they are full winged. If I were to simply open the doors, they would all fly out in a panic and fly into the aviary sides. From previous experience, this is a bad thing, as they often break their necks and don't survive. By tossing them into the air, they fly toward the open water of the pools, which is where their safety in the wild lies. So, tossing them gently into the air is actually the safest thing for them. I hope this puts your mind at ease.
@@life-springs-farmandaviary5908 I must say your response seems to contradict what happens towards the end of your release, after your struggles with green winged hen, the final birds seem so overwhelmed by your hand chasing them they make a panic for escape. Better to have less birds per case and allow safe exit in their own time in my opinion.
My mom purchased a farm to rent out for a while, untill i can buy it off her and these are the only animals i really want, so cool
❤️❤️ beautiful
Aww pretty mandarin ducks . Duckies are beautiful
Gorgeous... but perhaps that box needs sliding doors on the sides 😁

beautiful birds mate, love to have some one day
Those ducks were really anxious to get out of those crates.
They don't enjoy close confinement at all.
I always love seeing your birds Jeff
Thank you.
Nice video. Post more videos whenever you can. Beautiful birds.
More to come!
Good video, great information, beautiful aviary and bad cameraman.
Where do you buy them at? 🤔🤔
I wish I could put green wings or even woods, dumb state permits

so can they fly long distances
Yes they can!
All wild ducks
Yes, but the Platinum Wood Ducks and the Silver Bahama Pintails are color mutations of the wild species.
Do the cross breed? Jw
Most do not cross breed but occasionally some will. The breeder should always watch for that.
Why not just open the doors on your carrying cases and let the birds find their way out? Instead of throwing them around.
