Ive wanted an alto horn for YEARS. Finally, last week, i just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and i got four of them, three are pretty much trash, but one is PRISTINE!
Nathan is not only a great player, he has has a spiritual component that digs deep for the relatable value of most every syllable he presents. He then shows his maturity as he articulates them in a melodic line that always speaks from the soul. He simply has no throwaways when it comes to his personal performance. I've loved the expressive quality of the Millers for three generations. From Grandpa's Pulpit to Dad's Triumphonic and now ... on a Wilson. Try not to knock your teeth out with that funky lead pipe.
Great hommage to an underestimated instrument : the « alto saxhorn »… A transposing brass instrument that sounds in Eb. Adolphe Sax used names similar to the voice quartet names ( soprano, alto, tenor, baritone) to indicate the root note of the instruments he invented from high Bb to Eb for the alto , and so on. I still wonder why he chose those b keys…

Wow, Nathan, such a wonderful rendering!! 👌👍It gave me goosebumps. Just love the way you play this oh so underrated instrument. Thanks so much. 👌🙏🌟
Sounds like a lower pitched flugelhorn. I love it.
Love pentatonic version and you elevated it again , love the sound of the tenor horn , which I played from the age of 6 now a bass trombone player
If anyone ever asks me what a tenor/alto horn is and why they matter I default to showing them this video
Wow, absolutely stunning! Merry Christmas and God Bless you!
Bravissimo
