Killer Krow is another unmade Tarantino film. It’s a WWII drama about a group of black soldiers were betrayed and left for dead by white soldiers On the battlefield they get together to seek revenge on them. Brad Pitt character on Inglourious Basterds was rumored to make a cameo.
"Once Upon a time in Hollywood" is a kinda prequel to "Pulp Fiction". (Maya Hawk's character is Mia Wallace's mom) . Kill Bill is a "kinda sequel" to Pulp Fiction, (Uma Thurman is playing Mia Wallace who is an actress in a movie called "Kill Bill"
Where did you read/hear that that was Mia Wallace’s mom? I’m just curious because with the acceptation of DiCaprios character (who’s kind of an imalgumation of western actors who revitalized their careers in Europe like Charles Bronson) the majority of characters are based on real people. For instance Maya Hawk plays Flower Child who was a real member of Mansons cult and her name was Linda Kasabina… so I’m just curious where you found this info.
I am still sad that we never got Tarantino’s Star Trek. From what I researched, everyone in the studio and executive end wanted to give him whstever he wanted
I’ve noticed a lot of these are sequels and spinoffs, I get the feeling he doesn’t want to leave the worlds he created and tries to make more of it. But I think it’s better than they’re all their own self contained (mostly) stories
@@ashleybanks-wm4cgit depends entirely on the flow of the writer, one page could be 10 seconds of screen time if you’re overwriting the hell out of it. Generally, the guide for screenwriters is to try to envision each page as a minute of screen time. 90 pages as 90 minutes, so on, so forth.
You have the Kill Bill breakdown wrong. It was originally planned to be a trilogy, but he got burned out and scaled it down to a four hour film. Harvey Weinstein asked him to break it in half for commercial reasons. After it came out, Quentin thought a third film following the bride and her daughter might be good, but apparently decided against making it.
@@TopHotBoxer there are also: the open road, my best friends birthday complete version, true romance first version, Inglourious Basterds first version (with Michael madsen as babe buchinsky), natural born killers original script and the first version of it (with a character that Tarantino wanted to play named F.Scarland), Django/Zorro, Forty Lashes Less One/A Yuma Prison Western, several Grondhouse projects (Jody the Grinder, Cowgirls in Sweden, The Big Boss of Rome), Snake Belly (a Monty Python inspired movie), the psychic remake, rock all night remake
killer crow was originally a subplot of inglourious basterds but he opted to turn it into its own thing. the basterds were even gonna appear but nothing came of it obv.
After watching his inspirations, I just realize that he is just riffing off of everything he’s ever watched. The work that he watches are just so much older that everyone has forgotten them. I still love his movies, but I don’t find him very original after doing some film digging.
That's true of almost all creators, everyone is inspired by what they love and riff off of what they love about them in their own way, originality is not a lack of an inspiration, it's a unique blending of ideas
Pretty much nothing is original anymore, it's all about whoever does it better. Tarantino has just refined all the knowledge he has of films to create the movies he has made
He said he’s only making 10 films, that doesn’t include writing scripts, making tv shows, plays, videos games, producing films, producing tv shows, short films. I don’t think we have to worry about QT content.
Either Double V Vega or a sequel to Django, Tarantino was an a roll at the time of production for both cancelled projects and I think they would've turned out great. Thank you for the support!
For a while under Tarantino’s IMDb page there was a work in progress title “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” (Echoing the Russ Meyer movie - a director that I remember him mentioning in some interviews -, I guess in the style he used old titles such as in Inglorious Basterds and Django) and I was super excited by the idea of a Tarantino spin on that cult movie. I guess that’s another one that’ll never see light, but I still hope 🤣
The way marvel hooks up actors with big checks. I wish they would do the same with directors. Quintin and kevin smith having their own "what if" marvel universes would be amazing and i think only make the mainstream mcu more popular
The Star Trek film was only going to be written and produced by Tarantino. It was initial said he would direct it, but as more things came to light it was reveled that he wasn’t actually going to be in the directors chair as he basically wanted something original to be his final film. Tarantino and J.J. Abrams were going to produce the film together, with someone else likely getting g the job of the director.
If Kill Bill vol 3 happens, I wonder if he'd still consider all the Kill Bill movies one film... Meaning he could potentially direct 2 more... So maybe he will make his "10th film" but then still be open to making the final Kill Bill chapter... If Uma Thurman agrees, last I heard she swore it off because of Quentin's history with Harvey Weinstein...
5:05 wait I’m confused. Quentin stated he never wrote a kill Bill sequel. Everything was in one script but the studio said the movie would’ve been four hours so they came to agreement to chop it into two parts. What you just said is different. 😮
there is not a chance he will stick to the 10 film plan. he will make his 10th film. and a few years later. he will announce he is making another one. he is only 61. He probably fully intends to just make 10. But one day a film idea will pop into his head. and he will just have to make it a Tarantino James bond film would have been epic. Bet he was kicking himself after seeing casino royal and seeing just how good Craig is as bond.
Either he'll make more than 10 or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be his last. He'll either not be able to settle on what to make, because he's under so much (self inflicted) pressure to make his 10th film his best, or he'll make a 10th then decide that #10 wasn't the masterpiece it should have been so he'll make an 11th, 12th etc to make amends, because he's got so many other great ideas that in hindsight he should have chosen for #10. It's such a dumb limitation to put on your own career anyway, and to have gone on record about it so early on (relatively speaking) is only going to invite people to hold him to it.
I would love to see that Tarantinos last 10th movie would have all actors that have played in his movies and are still alive, something like Avengers Endgame, the Who is Who of all actors that have played in his movies in one big movie, instead of SuperHeroes, of course it has to be bloody, violent.. maybe a Tarantino SuperHero movie, his own creation, good vs. bad, I would love to see DiCaprio playing a villain again, same for Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson, all three have this great villain inside they dont show at all in any movie! The league of extraordinary gentlemen as a 3 part movie, filmed back to back, in Tarantino style, that would be great!
I would love for tarantino to be lying about his 10 films only thing, and be the western Miyazaki, where each new film really could be his last one, but everyone sees he can keep going
It’s so weird imagining Tarantino making full fledged larger than life superhero movies considering how little he relies on CGI. I think Luke Cage is the only character that made sense for him.
None of Tarantino’s films need any sequels or prequels, they are all fine as they are as a single product, plus having a prequel kinda ruins the whole “everyone’s life is at stake” gimmick that his films often have
Tarrantino is a great filmmaker but I can’t stand revenge films so I think his best work is when he stays away from overly indulging in that theme like he does in most of his films. Perhaps his best are films like Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and parts of Once upon a Time which while they do contain the theme of revenge don’t seem to be so full of it like his others..
Tarantino is incredibly loquacious and absolutely full of ideas. That combination means that he is prone to talking about film ideas that may have entered his head but not actually got past the conceptualisation phase, so realistically they were unlikely to ever get made. Case in point: Kill Bill Vol.3. He was basically just spitballing the idea that it would be cool to make a follow up that involves Nikki trying to avenge the death of her mother and encountering Beatrix and a grown up BB. Realistically though, it would never have worked. Not least because Bill (along with most of the other characters) is already dead, so calling it "Kill Bill Vol.3" would have been pointless, and there would be very little "connective tissue" linking it to the first 2 volumes, at which point he might as well just make a stand alone movie. But, of course, because he talked about it once, people ask him about it and so he humours people by speculating who might be cast etc etc and next thing we know there's an IMDB page created as if it's something he's actually seriously working on. Could probably put the Vega Brothers film in that same category as well.
Death Proof is not my favorite, but I would argue it’s the most Tarantino-ish film he ever made. Just pure love of ‘70s genre films turned into a modern movie.
What people also need to consider is that its a 'Grindhouse' movie. Literally an exploitation film. You need to compare it to other grindhouse movies such as texas chainsaw massacre. And when you compare deathproof its really fucking good
So, are you saying that he destroyed the only copy or the only original reels of the footage? Because that’s two different things. A copy is…. Well, a copy. If there’s a copy, that means there’s also an original. If he destroyed the original and there are no copies, that means it’s gone forever. Not playing a semantics game here. Genuinely asking.
I think he I massively over rated as a dialogue writer and story teller. Individual scenes are amazing but when woven together they become boring and dare I say it uninteresting. In my opinion.
