You can get the cape. Now that you finished that level at least once you can go back, collect the feather and exit the level by pressing start and select. You will still have the cape on the overworld.

That was a pretty long episode but in all honestly, I didn't mind it at all! It was well worth the 55 minutes.
Let's see, favorite quote... It didn't really touch me, because no quote really did, but it certainly is one of the better for me.
