These type of videos are so cool! Gives us kind of an insight on your thought process.
Second
And for future plans recommendation hmmmm...... Idk vlogging/vlogs is the only thing thats on my mind rn. Also Happy New years Mann🎇🎆🎉
Wow, didn’t expect this type of video, but I’m so happy to hear your thought process and opinions on things. Here’s to a new year of hearing more from Rufus!
Rufus channel was one of the great things of my 2021. I'm so happy that he reach the 100k followers. You are an amazing Bass guitar player.
Very cool. Love the tones you make and I want your new bass. Looks very cool and I bet it plays perfectly.
have you ever tried a 6 string dingwall? also cant wait for the mystery 3rd bass 👀
Yes but can’t foresee myself needing one, can’t wait to use it for this channel too when there’s a chance 🙈🙈
It's so interesting to know a little close your work. Feliz año nuevo, Rufus. Thans for all your content
P.D. I love your hair ♡
for the sound clips, do you happen to remember what settings you used for each plug-in (or a guess at least)? I can see where the low cut is roughly. But I would love to know settings for the avalon DI, Comp, Gate, and darkglass. I also use logic so I have the same stock plug ins!
i'll try to describe in words 🙈
u2 is likely tone 2 with high cut...
comp is likely min attack with max release
gate... probably around -20-30db
darkglass is likely 75% or more blend with 0% drive 💭
(hope it helps, and here's the full cover: ua-cam.com/video/-mBialONaiA/v-deo.html
I LOVEE the tone of your jazz bass. Do you have the original listing which might specify the exact pickups it has by any chance? or do you know or have any way to check? I have a lefty CIJ JB62 RI but the sound isn't quite as grindy as yours
Hm…. I think they took the listing off already but it should be original pickups from what I remember
Yes! Toshiya is sick!
@@RufusMann Come to think of it, yeah, you really nailed toshiya's thump bro!
Hi bro, you make amazing videos! I found you a couple months ago and im hooked since 😅 keep rockin bro
tim from DGD , ali dean from architects, amos from teseract use to but then started using the vintage microtube for di , SH that what i do.
Not sure about Tim but I saw Ali had one in one of their rig rundowns too 🙌
Saw some of your videos played with a Sadowsky 5 strings. What about this one? Really liked it, and think it was a US built one
I know this is kind of a silly question but how can you afford these basses plus other gear. Those instruments cost thousands. Sorry if this is personal, I'm just curious! Those things are beautiful and sound great.
Sounds like youre using the compressor as a huge input boost to the B7K ??
what happened to your other bass's? i loved the look of the blue jazz bass
@@RufusMann what was the model of the blue jazz bass I would love to try to get one like it in the feature
I think an interesting video for next year would be a progression through ALL the basses you've gone through. >:3c
As a long time bass player, your j bass when using the pick is the best aggressive bass sound I’ve ever heard. I had no idea it was a 500 dollar bass, I was thinking I had to buy a 2000 all American j bass to get that sound lol. I guess that dark glass does a lot
Yea it’s a nice deal in terms of sound (but it might just be one of those “better ones” out of the spectrum… also the hardware and neck stability doesn’t feel quite as sturdy imo
Hey bro!!! Where is your dingwall z3??
If you don't mind, can I find out why you sold the higher model, z3, and bought ABZ? I'm also thinking about ordering Z3.
@@구호연-d6d hm… nothing wrong with the z3, I just prefer something with parts that can be replaced easier (like… I can swap the bridge on the afterburner to something else anytime but I can’t on the z 🙈
with your Patreon you know how you have pass links do you still have the purple my hero acidaemia and is it a link in your Patreon
@@RufusMann ok thanks cuz i am trying to get back into playing bass and i dont have a bass so thanks
I remember that you used to go with a Darkglass cabinet. Don’t you use this nowadays?
@@bluz1n oh!! Yea… I do all the effects in DAW because It’s easier for patrons to replicate the sound they hear here if I used plugins instead of hardware 💭
Hi Rufus,
What's the color finish on your AB1?
Hm… I don’t know what they’d call it but it’s referenced based on musicman’s starry night finish 🌃
Can you do cover Seek and Destroy by Metallica using Jazz Bass?
Great video mate! I always enjoy watching your Bass covers, especially the Band Maid ones! It just makes learning the whole thing so much more fun, plus your production is very good, which makes it real nice to watch the videos. 頑張って!
@@RufusMann Absolutely agreed! Their songs always make me happy even when I'm not feeling too well + you can see and hear the progression they went through in the last years. May I ask which Band Maid song is your favorite?
So, here it is! This is an up to date list of my bass gear / bass rig for 2021.
