I loved that they shut down the streets honestly between the two halls this year. That looks way more safe. I also feel like I would have spent more money in the Kentia Hall "Overflow" since it was titled as the Artist Alley and I always spend WAY more there.
Thanks for the vid! I've been following your stuff for a while! I worked AX in the Exhibitor Hall upstairs this year. I think you being in the Kentia Hall worked out better for you. Your booth setup was super cute and inviting and I hope you saw a ton of attendees wanting to come in and check out your stuff. And yes, having flooring is *absolutely* a game changer. It makes your booth look so much nicer but it's also such an incredibly nice thing for your feet and also your booth visitors too! If you get dark-tile foam flooring footprints are harder to see, and you can bring a little sweep broom and push pan combo in your kit and have that around to make your booth look nice each morning. From my observations in the Exhibition Hall and walking around, the Exhibitor Hall felt more like super industry land with gigantic marketing booths. I feel like the attendees in the Exhibitor Hall were there for the spectacle, not necessarily in the buying mood. All the gigantic industry exhibitors (Bandai, Toei, Aniplex, Crunchyroll etc) pretty much occupied 75% of the front and center of the Hall, and the non-super sponsored booths were pushed to the sides and corners of the main exhibitor hall. It felt kind of tough actually! Also as you mentioned the Exhibitor Hall in comparison to other years felt super empty even during peak days Friday and Saturday. Just didn't feel like I saw nearly as much foot traffic. Again as you noticed a lot of people "leveled up" in the Ex. Hall and I agree, everyone was stepping up their booth presence. However I did a walking around a lot of the seller booths on day 4, and many booths were still super stocked on merch. I feel like a lot of sellers were hoping for a bigger consumer presence in the Exhibitor Hall compared to years past. So I think it's a balance of how much resources you want to put into your booth presence vs how effective it would actually be, as a seller. Also I think the stamp rally that artists do is really cool! I saw a lot of cool artists at ACEN by doing one and it was neat. My booth is industry and industry booths generally are a bit more stodgy and traditional but it's a really fun idea. Keep up the great content! Hope you avoided the con crud and/or the Coof!

I can't attend AX this year due to work and budget (kinda cause I got a friend to help me shop)! Seeing it felt like last year, but a slight update. (Not sure for good or worse...) The no cap ladt year and years back felt dangerous, and I have my ups and downs! I guess AX finally got the memo. Your booth looks so adorable and AHHH THE CORGI (Emi?) WINDOW PURSE!!! It was a fun mvoie experience~
Is it just me, or is there a lack of cosplay going on at this anime convention? Lol. I've been to VERY small conventions with more cosplay than I've seen at AX this year!
I 100% AGREE!!!! I didn't see as many amazing cosplays this year at AX! I saw a handful of super amazing cosplays but most of the cosplayers were doing more "lowkey" cosplay.
