I haven't had potato candy in 45 years, or even heard of anyone making it. My mom and grandma used to make it. Delicious. Thanx for keeping these old school recipes alive.

When I was a child, we had a neighbor that used to make this candy. I loved it, and have thought of it often, wishing I knew what it was and how it was made. And now I know!
    Can't wait to make this!

This is how my grandma made it. Definitely tastes awesome. I’ve seen where you can use half n half or cream cheese vs a potato.

Do you let the potato cool before you mix it with the sugar or is it ok to go ahead and mix while the potato is still hot/warm?

    • @ourforeverfarm

I do let it cook. Room temperature is good. Thx for watching.

Oh my I finally found The potato peanut butter my step mother made and showed me & my youngest & only Daughter age 19
    April Ann Ulrich ,
She was killed 5 moths after graduating high-school here in Montgomery County, Texas and Then my dad who raised me , was just as heart broken as I was as April was his only Granddaughter an I was his only Daughter / Child .
My daughter being killed on her way to Church has forever changed our lives ,
I've been wanting to make these for my oldest Son 38 and his daughters ( my 2 youngest granddaughters ages 10 & 9 and his wife , my daughter n law Jen .
To surprise them as My grief has changed everything I use to do for them all ,
But I know my daughter would want me to teach her nieces to garden , bake , make bread , cook , sew like I taught all my 2 sons & her , as if she was still here she would be doing all of that with them.
    Sorry 4 the book ,
But I wanted u to know how much this meant To me & will make them all so happy , seeing me make something they all loved .
I have started teaching my granddaughters how to garden and they love helping me NONI & POP'S THEIR GRANDPA , MY HUSBAND.
GOD BLESS U FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL GIFT U JUST GAVE our family , they will b so happy ,
Plus I look 4ward to watching your other content .
    God bless you
    Mrs Josette- Montgomery County, Texas

Well. You made my day. I often say if I could just help one. Bless your heart. I cannot imagine. I just lost my mother July 21. Yes!!!! Go cook something. Look up and live. They would want you to. I know my mom wants me to. That’s one reason I’m continuing these videos. Thank you for sharing your story. I just did a post on Facebook about trials. Go check it out. It’s under Our Forever Farm also. We all have them. But I just can’t imagine losing a child. I’m praying for you. Go make this forgotten candy for your family. You will bless them. Thank you for watching and commenting. Don’t forget to subscribe. That way you want you miss any. 🙏

Powdered sugar doesn’t have crystals. It’s just like powder. Thank you for watching.

I’ve made this many times and you don’t have enough peanut butter the ratio should be almost 60/40 dough to peanut butter
